Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire -- the Regi Trio EX Tins!

RE: Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire -- Beautifly, Banette, and the Day Care Man

Thanks Scorched Feathers!

This afternoon I have four new cards to present, including the first Pokémon-EX to be revealed! First up, we have Slakoth:

Slakoth 50 HP [C]
Basic Pokémon
287.gif

#287. Slacker Pokémon HT: 2'07", WT: 52.9 lbs.

[Ability] Contagious Laziness
Whenever this Pokémon becomes Asleep, your opponent's Active
Pokémon is also now Asleep.

[C] Nap
Heal 30 damage from this Pokémon. This Pokémon is now Asleep.

Weakness - [F] // Resistance - none // Retreat - [C][C]

The way Slakoth lolls around makes anyone who watches it feel like doing
the same.
67/105 (OR) (Common)

Now, at the suggestion of Reggie McGigas, here are Shelgon and Deoxys-EX!

Shelgon 80 HP [N]
Stage 1 Pokémon - Evolves from Bagon
372.gif

#372. Endurance Pokémon HT: 3'07", WT: 243.6 lbs.

[Ability] Impenetrable Shell
This Pokémon can't be affected by Special Conditions. Whenever an
attack does damage to this Pokémon, reduce that damage by 10 (after
applying Weakness and Resistance).

[R][W] Rolling Rampage
Flip a coin until you get tails. For each heads, choose 1 of your
opponent's Pokémon and do 20 damage to it. If you dealt more than 60
damage in this way, Shelgon is now Confused.

Weakness - [Y] // Resistance - [R] // Retreat - [C][C][C]

Its armored body makes all attacks bounce off. The armor is too tough,
however, making it heavy and somewhat sluggish.
63/105 (OR) (Uncommon)

Deoxys-EX 140 HP [P]
Basic Pokémon
386.gif

[P][C] Destructive Laser
Choose 1 of your opponent's Pokémon. This attack does 30 damage to that
Pokémon and if it has any Energy attached to it, choose 1 and discard it.

[P][C][C] Psycho Boost -- 40x
Does 40 damage times the number of [P] Energy attached to this Pokémon.
This Pokémon can't use Psycho Boost during your next turn.

Weakness - [P] // Resistance - none // Retreat - [C][C]

When a Pokémon-EX has been Knocked Out, your opponent takes 2 Prize cards.
41/105 (OR) (Ultra Rare)

And finally, another Supporter brand new for ORAS, the PokéMart Worker!

TRAINER [Supporter]
PokéMart Worker

Discard 1 card from your hand (if you can't, you can't play this card).
Search your deck for up to 2 Item cards and put them in your hand. Shuffle
your deck afterward.

You may only play 1 Supporter card per turn (before your attack).
86/105 (OR) (Uncommon)

I also fixed a bunch of wording things as in most of my cards up to this point I had used the pokemon's name instead of "this Pokémon", and "the Defending Pokémon" instead of "your opponent's Active Pokémon". Force of habit I suppose. The cards are all updated in the original post but where I posted them in this thread to reveal them... I didn't want / didn't think it was necessary to fix them twice

Comments/Questions/Suggestions welcome as usual!

Also, I plan on making a pretty big update tonight. Not sure when yet, but it will be around 8-10 cards including the first two Mega Evolution Pokémon revealed.

RE: Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire -- Beautifly, Banette, and the Day Care Man

I'm a little surprised that Deoxys has only 140 HP, unless this is the classic ex and not the modern EX we're talking about.

RE: Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire -- Slakoth, Shelgon, PokéMart Worker and DEOXYS-EX!

Yeah, they aren't intended to be the 170-180 HPs we have now, but they should still be better than the "classic" Pokémon-EX. I don't want the top-tier decks of my hypothetical format to be solely dominated by Basic Pokémon, so I'm trying to bring the power level of Pokémon-EX down a tad, while still keeping them as very good cards.

RE: Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire -- Slakoth, Shelgon, PokéMart Worker and DEOXYS-EX!

I now REALLY like this, coming from the longest-serving CaC participant.
Can we see the Taillow Line? o3o they're some of my favourites from Gen 3.

I'm like what, the 2nd or 3rd longest CaC entrant (15 months, I believe) and I've approved of this all along. I like your idea of nerfing EXs, I've kinda done something like that. Right now the "main deck" has to be Crygonal/Wailren. Plus, most trainer cards (including Steven Stone) will be good but won't benefit EXs. I think everyone here agrees that EXs should be slightly nerfed. :p

Try almost 3 years mate :v
Yeah, I think that EXs should be nerfed to be balanced but playable. Also, we should totally find a way to play with these cards o3o

That would be awesome.

RE: Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire -- Slakoth, Shelgon, PokéMart Worker and DEOXYS-EX!

Time for my big update! As it turns out, this update ended up being pretty Alpha Sapphire heavy with only two cards from Omega Ruby. Not intentional, just kind of happened that way. I'll try to sort of balance it out next time.

First up, we complete the Metagross line with Beldum:

Beldum 50 HP [M]
Basic Pokémon
374.gif

#374. Iron Ball Pokémon HT: 2'00", WT: 209.9 lbs.

[M] Hovering Metal
Until the end of your opponent's next turn, prevent all damage
done to this Pokémon by your opponent's [F] Pokémon.

[M] Metal Claw -- 10+
Flip a coin. If heads, this attack does 10 more damage.

Weakness - [R] // Resistance - [G] // Retreat - [C]

The magnetic force generated by its body repels the ground's natural
magnetism, letting it float.
53/105 (AS) (Common)

A couple of basic Pokémon including some more support for berries:

Sableye 70 HP [D]
Basic Pokémon
302.gif

#302. Darkness Pokémon HT: 1'08", WT: 24.3 lbs.

[C] Trickster
If your opponent's Active Pokémon has a Pokémon Tool attached to it,
discard it. Then, search your deck for a Pokémon Tool with the same name
and attach it to 1 of your Pokémon. Shuffle your deck afterwards.

[D] Nightmares
Your opponent's Active Pokémon is now Asleep. As long as it remains Asleep,
put 3 damage counters on it between turns.

Weakness - none // Resistance - [P] // Retreat - [C]

It hides in the darkness of caves. Its diet of gems has transformed its
eyes into gemstones.
AS 48/105 (Uncommon)

Tropius 80 HP [G]
Basic Pokémon
357.gif

#357. Fruit Pokémon HT: 6'07", WT: 220.5 lbs.

[Ability] Invigorating Fruit
As long as this Pokémon is in play, whenever any of your [G] Pokémon attacks,
if it has a Pokémon Tool with Berry in its' name attached to it, each of
its' attacks do 10 more damage to Active Pokémon (before applying Weakness
and Resistance).

[G][G][G] Leaf Gale -- 30
Unless your opponent has no Benched Pokémon, you may return your opponent's
Active Pokémon and all cards attached to it to your opponent's hand.

Weakness - [R] // Resistance - [F] // Retreat - [C][C]

It flies by flapping its broad leaves and gives the sweet, delicious fruit
around its neck to children.
14/105 (AS) (Rare)

Wurmple 40 HP [G]
Basic Pokémon
265.gif

#265. Worm Pokémon HT: 1'00", WT: 7.9 lbs.

[C] Tackle -- 10

[G] Leaf Munch -- 10
If your opponent's Active Pokémon has a Pokémon Tool with Berry in its'
name attached to it, discard that Pokémon Tool (before doing damage).

Weakness - [R] // Resistance - none // Retreat - [C]

It loves to eat leaves. If it is attacked by a Starly, it will defend
itself with its spiked rear.
1/105 (AS) (Common)

A couple of evolutions, Swellow for Scorched Feathers and Breloom for DevinTheWulf (I will try to put Taillow in the next update)

Swellow 90 HP [C]
Stage 1 Pokémon - Evolves from Taillow
277.gif

#277. Swallow Pokémon HT: 2'04", WT: 43.7 lbs.

[Ability] Speedy Strike
As long as this Pokémon has no Pokémon Tools or Special Energy attached
to it, its' attacks cost [C] less.

[C][C][C] Aerial Ace -- 50
This attack's damage is not affected by any effects on your opponent's
Active Pokémon or by any effects of your opponent's attacks.

Weakness - [L] // Resistance - [F] // Retreat - 0

If its two tail feathers are standing at attention, it is proof of good
health. It soars elegantly in the sky.
63/105 (AS) (Uncommon)

Breloom 90 HP [F]
Stage 1 Pokémon - Evolves from Shroomish
286.gif

#286. Mushroom Pokémon HT: 3'11", WT: 86.4 lbs.

[C][C] Pollen Punch -- 20
If there are any [F] Energy attached to this Pokémon, this attack's base
damage is 40 instead of 20. If there are any [G] Energy attached to this
Pokémon, your opponent's Active Pokémon is now Asleep and Poisoned.

[F][F][F] Focus Punch -- 120
If this Pokémon (or the Pokémon it evolved from) was not your Active Pokémon
or was damaged by an opponent's attack during your opponent's last turn,
this attack does nothing.

Weakness - [P] // Resistance - none // Retreat - [C][C]

Its short arms stretch when it throws punches. Its technique is equal
to that of pro boxers.
42/105 (OR) (Rare)

Now some Pokémon Tools:

TRAINER [Item]
Heart Scale

Pokémon Tool: Attach a Pokémon Tool to 1 of your Pokémon that doesn't
already have a Pokémon Tool attached to it.

If this card is attached to an Evolved Pokémon, that Pokémon can use
any attack from its previous Evolutions. You still need the necessary
Energy to use each attack.

You may play as many Item cards as you like during your turn (before
your attack).

78/105 (AS) (Uncommon)

TRAINER [Item]
Razor Claw

Pokémon Tool: Attach a Pokémon Tool to 1 of your Pokémon that doesn't

Resistance).

You may play as many Item cards as you like during your turn (before

Mega Sableye 100 HP [D]
Mega Evolution Pokémon - Put onto Sableye
110px-302Sableye-Mega.png

[Ability] Enveloping Darkness

of them is tails, that Pokémon is still Asleep.

[D][C][C] Ruby Wall -- 40
If this Pokémon would be damaged by an attack during your opponent's next
turn, flip a coin. If heads, reduce that damage by 60.

Weakness - none // Resistance - [P] // Retreat - [C][C]

Mega Evolution Pokémon - Put onto Banette
354-mega.gif

[Ability] Energy from the Dead

any attacks and Abilities of the Pokémon underneath it. You may only
have 1 Mega Evolution Pokémon in play at any time.
AS 43/105 (Ultra Rare)

Enjoy!

RE: Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire -- BIG UPDATE! 10 new cards! 2 Mega Evolutions!

O-Oh my, I love that Mega Evolution mechanic. I think Mega Banette Grave could be a viable Archetype, with Acceleration and spread damage on the boss, you can discard Pokémon and Energy with the Mart Worker and have little drawback! ^^

RE: Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire -- BIG UPDATE! 10 new cards! 2 Mega Evolutions!

Roselia / Tropius / Berry Fields sounds like it could be good. With 4 Tropius in play and a Berry on Roselia, you do 100 damage plus the effect of the Berry. And Mega Banette looks playable as well, as Scorched Feathers pointed out.

RE: Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire -- BIG UPDATE! 10 new cards! 2 Mega Evolutions!

Mega Banette is definitely one of my personal favourites from the set so far. You could also use Dusclops to throw Pokemon in the discard pile. Glad it looks like the Berry stuff is playable, that's what I wanted from it.

RE: Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire -- BIG UPDATE! 10 new cards! 2 Mega Evolutions!

Can we see some berries? I'm excited to see how they work as actual cards.

Yeah, I'm looking forward to seeing more trainer cards (and I'm looking forward to your primal pokemon, I'm curious t see what they will do :))

RE: Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire -- BIG UPDATE! 10 new cards! 2 Mega Evolutions!

To be honest, a lot of the Trainer cards are going to end up reprints of "staples" or just cards I think would be useful in this format, although a lot of those ones won't have their names changed either (ie. Rare Candy, Switch, Energy Retrieval, etc.) ... a couple of the Supporters will be like old supporters with new names. I don't feel like the Berries are anything special either, but I'll get at least one in the next update. And there are still a few Trainers that nobody will have seen before left to reveal.

RE: Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire -- BIG UPDATE! 10 new cards! 2 Mega Evolutions!

Another late night update. This one has Taillow and Oran Berry by request, and the two cocoon Pokémon.

If tails, Your opponent's Active Pokémon is now Confused.

evolution is near.

62/105 (AS) (Common)

TRAINER [Item]
Oran Berry

Pokémon Tool: Attach a Pokémon Tool to 1 of your Pokémon that doesn't
already have a Pokémon Tool attached to it.

At any time between turns, if the Pokémon Oran Berry is attached to has
3 or more damage counters on it, heal 30 damage from that Pokémon. Then,
discard Oran Berry.

You may play as many Item cards as you like during your turn (before
your attack).

85/105 (AS) (Common)

That balancing out of the OR / AS sets didn't happen. It'll get caught up eventually.

RE: Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire -- Cocoons, Taillow and a Berry

Quick question on Oran Berry with Roselia; how do they interact? Does Oran Berry heal 30 and be discarded instead of needing 3 or more damage counters?

RE: Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire -- Cocoons, Taillow and a Berry

Very nice cards! Could you do Swampert, Blaziken, M-Swampert, or M-Blaziken next?

RE: Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire -- Cocoons, Taillow and a Berry

Scorched Feathers said:

Hmm. The intent is for the Berry to not be discarded by Roselia's attack and to just heal 30 from it. I'll need to update the wording on one/both of those cards to clarify that, it's definitely not as clear as it could be. Thanks for pointing that out.

RE: Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire -- Cocoons, Taillow and a Berry

Stage 1 Pokémon - Evolves from Nincada
291.gif

#291. Ninja Pokémon HT: 2'07", WT: 26.5 lbs.

many Energy attached to Ninjask to your new Active Pokémon as you like.

257.gif

Flip a coin. If heads, this attack does 30 more damage and your
opponent's Active Pokémon is now Burned.

14/105 (OR) (Rare Holo)

RE: Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire -- Cocoons, Taillow and a Berry

So far we've seen a lot of support for viable Psychic and/or Dark decks as well as Berries. In this update we get a little bit of support for a couple of other types. Here are Ninjask, Blaziken, and Altaria ... plus a few reprint Trainers to get them out of the way. I liked the 3 Pokémon in this update, so I felt it was a good place to throw some boring Trainer cards in :p

I also tried to get the sets balanced out again a bit more, so this one is mostly Omega Ruby cards.

Ninjask 70 HP [G]
