84/105 (OR) (Common)

Any suggestions for next time?

RE: Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire -- The Starters, Brendan and May

I like a lot of your choices for your cards! Though something about Gardevoir feels nerfed. Take a look at Lilligant from Noble Victories: http://pokebeach.com/2011/10/90-noble-victories-scans

Here's why Selfless Sacrifice should be changed:
-Requires Knockout
-More Energy
-Stage 2

Maybe something like this would be better:

Shuffle this Pokemon and all cards attached to it into your deck. Heal 60 damage from each of your Pokemon.

If you ever would like some hel, PM me!

RE: Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire -- The Starters, Brendan and May

Yeah, good call. I'll change it a bit next time I make an update. Thanks :)

RE: Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire -- The Starters, Brendan and May

Gardevoir's Selfless Sacrifice attack has been changed to this:

[Y] Selfless Sacrifice
Switch Gardevoir with 1 of your Benched Pokémon. Remove all damage counters from your new Active Pokémon and prevent all effects of attacks, including damage, done to that Pokémon during your opponent's next turn. Gardevoir is now Knocked Out.

My intent was for it to mimic Healing Wish / Lunar Dance so I wanted to keep the knockout / full recovery part.

No update this time but there will be one tonight sometime. Anyone have any last minute suggestions?

Much better. It might not be played much, but could be a nice wall. Thanks for leaving your opinions on my thread! (And by the way, Anonymous users, you can check that out by clicking Coal, Newton, Lily, Antenna, Snap, and Torpedo, my gen. 2 team. This definitely, positively, 100% isn't a self-promotion post. Yeah. 100%.)

RE: Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire -- The Starters, Brendan and May

Yeah, it's attack isn't necessarily the greatest but there is Mega Gardevoir, and its' ability shuts down energy acceleration from the discard pile (and recovery from Super Rod, Energy Retrieval, etc.) too so even without the Mega it might see some use. And no problem, thanks for your comments on mine :)

RE: Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire -- The Starters, Brendan and May

OK so I didn't end up having time to update last night. I do have four cards now though: Kirlia, Dustox, Wailmer and Birch's Training:

281.gif

#281. Emotion Pokémon HT: 2'07", WT: 44.5 lbs.

[P] Future Vision

top or the bottom of its owner's deck.

[Y][C] Magic Dance -- 20
Before doing damage, you may move up to 2 damage counters from your opponent's
Active Pokémon to 1 of their Benched Pokémon.

Weakness - [M] // Resistance - [N] // Retreat - [C]

Dustox 110 HP [P]
Stage 2 Pokémon - Evolves from Cascoon
269.gif

[P] Horrid Powder
Your opponent's Active Pokémon is now Burned, Confused and Poisoned.

[P][P] Poison Drain -- 30

Any damage done to this Pokémon by attacks during your opponent's next turn is
reduced by 20.

coin. If heads, prevent all effects of attacks, including damage, done to this
Pokémon during your opponent's next turn.

Weakness - [L] // Resistance - none // Retreat - [C][C][C]

It eats one ton of food every day. It plays by shooting stored seawater out its
blowholes with great force.
22/105 (AS) (Common)

TRAINER [Supporter]
Birch's Training

Search your deck for a card that evolves from 1 of your Basic Pokémon
(excluding Pokémon-EX) and put it onto that Pokémon (this counts as evolving
that Pokémon). Shuffle your deck afterward. You can't use this card during
your first turn.

You may only play 1 Supporter card per turn (before your attack).
73/105 (AS) (Uncommon)

any attacks and Abilities of the Pokémon underneath it. You may only
have 1 Mega Evolution Pokémon in play at any time.
59/105 (AS) (Ultra Rare)

Enjoy! Comments, questions, suggestions welcome as usual.

RE: Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire -- Zigzagoon, Energy Switch, Energy Retrieval, and a Mega...

Stored Power seems a little... too good? Maybe make it cost [Y][C] and do 40x? That may balance it out a little o3o"

RE: Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire -- Zigzagoon, Energy Switch, Energy Retrieval, and a Mega...

You think? It's pretty tough to get more than a couple of Energy cards in your hand, and there's no Professor's Letter in this format. Energy Search and/or Energy Retrieval are the only ways right now to get Energy in your hand easily. Would a deck with a ton of Energy focused solely on getting out a Mega Gardevoir and stashing Energy in your hand be able to set up quickly enough? It is essentially a Stage 3, and you can't set up a second one until your first one is gone (so you have to have the other Mega in your hand when it's Knocked Out). There will likely be some sort of hand disruption making it tough to just stash Energy forever.

Is it that overpowered? I'll definitely change it if that seems to be the opinion, just wanted to share my reasons for making it as powerful as it is first.

RE: Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire -- Zigzagoon, Energy Switch, Energy Retrieval, and a Mega...

This update should be more exciting, with five new Pokémon revealed:

Plusle 60 HP [L]

It cheers on friends with pom-poms made of sparks. It drains power from
telephone poles.
36/105 (AS) (Common)

Minun 60 HP [L]
Basic Pokémon
312.gif

#312. Cheering Pokémon HT: 1'04", WT: 9.3 lbs.

[Ability] Minus Guard

If your opponent's Active Pokémon is a Pokémon-EX or an Evolved Pokémon,
this attack does 30 more damage.

Weakness - [F] // Resistance - none // Retreat - [C]

to drop lightning bolts.
27/105 (OR) (Rare Holo)

RE: Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire -- 5 New Pokémon! Plusle, Minun, Baltoy, Whiscash and Manectric

You know, I kinda wanna run a deck using 4 of both Plusle and Minun, the draw is so good *^*
In fact, I'd play Mega Gardevoir Turbo with something like this for Pokémon:
3 Plusle
2 Minun
3 Ralts
3 Kirlia
3 Gardevoir
3 Mega Gardevoir

17 Pokémon wow
If there is search/rare candy in this format, the Gardevoir Lineup could easily become 4-0-4-4 or 4-1-4-3 o3o

RE: Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire -- 5 New Pokémon! Plusle, Minun, Baltoy, Whiscash and Manectric

Yeah, there will be Rare Candy and Ultra Ball as we already know them. I am still considering your suggestion for nerfing Mega Gardevoir though :p

RE: Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire -- 5 New Pokémon! Plusle, Minun, Baltoy, Whiscash and Manectric

So, I was gone for the last week or so with limited internet access, but now that I'm back, time for the next update!

Your opponent's Active Pokémon is now Poisoned.

It lives in the shallows of warm seas. When the tide goes out, it digs up
prey from beaches.
45/105 (AS) (Rare Holo)

RE: Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire -- Gulpin, Wailord and Cradily!

Glad to see you back! I really like Wailord, but the HP confuses me. Only 150 HP for a Wailord?

RE: Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire -- Gulpin, Wailord and Cradily!

I agree with Reggie; 150 seems pretty low for a Wailord in today's era.

I liked how you included Relicanth in Cradily's Fossil Revitalization attack. It's a nice link to Relicanth as a "living fossil" of sorts.

RE: Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire -- Gulpin, Wailord and Cradily!

What do you guys feel would be better for Wailord's HP? My Pokémon-EX are going to be at 140/150, and I didn't want to go higher than them. My Stage-2s are also a little lower than today's standards, I think ... very minimally, but still a little lower. So with those points in mind, what do you think? 150, 160, 170, 180?

I have changed Mega Gardevoir's Stored Power attack to have a bit of a drawback, adding "Then, flip a coin for each of those Energy cards. If tails, shuffle it into your deck." to it. I have also added clarification to Roselia's card regarding how it's attack works with the Berries, but I'm still not entirely happy with the wording of it so there may be future changes yet.

RE: Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire -- Gulpin, Wailord and Cradily!

Well, taking a look at Dragons Exalted (the last set in which Wailord was featured), it had 200 HP. Four of the EXs of the set (Terrakion, Registeel, Rayquaza, and Giratina) had 180 HP, Ho-oh had 160 HP, and Mew had the fewest HP with 120. I'd say, then, that 170 HP would probably work.

RE: Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire -- Gulpin, Wailord and Cradily!

Thanks for the input. I have bumped Wailord up to 170 HP.
