Hello everyone! I'm still a newbie to the Pokemon TCG this being the second deck I've made. Please make suggestions on how to improve the deck and maybe a few things I did wrong. Thanks!

Strategy:

My strategy is pretty straight-forward. Use Garbotoxin to shut down abilities, and use Elesa to get it quicker.
Depending on which deck I'm playing against decides which Pokemon I'll use most.
Yveltal = Zekrom
VirGen = Reshiram
Pyroar = Kyurem

The attack Outrage can do up to 140 damage normally, 170 to EX with silver bangle and 160 with muscle band. All of the Pokemon only allow the opponent to take one prize.

The main problem I see with this deck is it relies on damage, and if the opponent knows that, they're going to try to one hit ko me with out me being able to attack for much damage.

Some considerations I was thinking were: Mewtwo EX, Kyurem EX (Plasma Blast), Shaymin EX, or try to power up Blue Flare with Blacksmith.

I like this idea a lot my girlfriend plays two similar outrage decks (one Reshiram theme one Zekrom theme). Using blue flare with blacksmith will be good. If you think/know you will be ohko by your opponent, bolt strike with Zekrom since you'll be doing at least 120 and the 40 damage to yourself won't be of concern if you know you'd be ohko'd anyway. If you don't expect being ohko in a lot of matchups, you could use protection cube while doing bolt strike to avoid damaging yourself. Also, the float stones you have will come in handy for retreating if you survive an outrage attack (meaning you ko your opponent but they aren't ready to strike back, you float stone out of there).

Thanks! I'll make the changes. What exactly does protection cube do anyway? I've read over it's text several times and I think I know what it means, but I'm not positive. (Also, do you think Glaciate would be good too?)

No problem! Basically protection cube stops your own attack from hurting you. So if you attach it to Zekrom your own bolt strike attack would do zero damage to you. Now if you want a bigger outrage attack, and don't think you'll be KO'd next turn, you could just let the bolt strike damage you anyway. The max damage you could take after using bolt strike without protection cube would be 80 in that scenario.

Glaciate is good in theory since you can damage every enemy pokemon in play, but you might need the energy attachments somewhere else like Reshiram or Zekrom. I would suggest trying to use it and see if you feel the energy would be used better by your other attackers :)

What should I take out in place of Protection Cube? And also if I ran a 2,2,2 line for Fire, Electric, and Water, Energies, I do always have Superior Energy Retrieval. Thanks for explaining Protection Cube. I thought it meant say someone else used outrage on my Zekrom no damage would be taken. What you said makes a lot more sense.

You should use rainbow energy's and maybe Frozen city.
Sometimes you can do more damage with Frozen City than with Virbank city and it takes less space.
You could try out both and see what's the best.

Are you going to focus on the Outrage attack or on the other attacks?

Instead of kyurem run kyurem ex with outrage they have the same attack but kyurem ex can take more damage and hit for more damage.

Oh my god! I've never considered that! That would boost the outrage attack!
And on that note, I am trying to focus more on the outrage attack, but I want to do the other attacks as well because I don't think outrage will be enough damage.

I was thinking about having Kyurem ex, but one of the points of the deck was I could knock out an ex, take 2 prizes, and then they would only take one. Plus if I could use Glaciate, that could soften up some Pokemon to use outrage, blue flare, or Bolt Strike. Thanks for the suggestion though!

Hello!

First off, this looks like a fun deck! I always like decks that kind of have a theme between the Pokemon used (Like you are using the three main Unova legendaries). I have only one suggestion for the deck: Maybe you can take out the Elesa because between your draw support, Skyla, and Tool count of 8, you should probably be good without the Electric Leader. I would replace it with a Sacred Ash, because with Pyroar decks beginning to run 4-4 lines, you may find yourself in a position where your only 2 Garb lines are in the discard.

YES!!! I have been considering running an outrage deck with garbodor because of all the hype that furious fists and Landorus. Plus, all the pyroar running around would make this deck an easy counter to. Definitely going to make a deck and I'm glad I'm not the only one.

I am not going to run Zekrom. My meta doesn't have much Yveltal and I don't know how popular it really is going to be after rotation.

I still don't think Yveltal's out of the competition. Diggersby's Pickup attack is the same thing as Junk Hunt. Granted it's a stage 1 and take 2 energy instead of one, I think it could still work. And you could use the new Landorus from Furious Fist for energy acceleration. I'm going to be glad when Garbodor's out of the format, so all of my ability decks can run wild.

I see you've made some changes already and they look good! It might be too tough to swap anything for protection cube if you want the option of frozen city. That's the only thing I could see you swapping at this point since I think you'll need all of those other resources. If you're going to focus on the outrage more often than not I would leave protection cube off the list for now and see if taking the 40 damage from bolt strike isn't that bad; it does boost your outrage attack too :)

Haha you're gonna have to save your allowance if you get one or do some chores for some cash! I'm sure your parents would work something out with you.

Do you have any of these cards at all yet? Some of those trainers will cost you a bit, skyla will be around $2.50-$3.00 each and N is around $3.50-$5.00 each. The price of Juniper and Sycamore have been fluctuating the past few days, I just bought 4 for $3.50 but I've seen them as high as $2.00 each right now.

If you have any questions on prices pm someone I'm sure anyone would be willing to help you get the cards you need for a reasonable price, also check the for sale/for trade threads!
 
Ok I opened up a random card selling site and put all of the current decklist in the cart. It came out to $95, which is actually pretty nice. The only cards that went over $2 were Skyla, N, Computer Search, Muscle Band, and Hypnotoxic Laser. If you don't have the basic energies I'm sure you could ask someone at a League to give you them. It's probably a bad idea to buy them unless you want the holo ones. Anyways $95 isn't an exact price, because if you go to multiple sites, you can get the cards that are the cheapest on each one and it could go down to maybe $80 or even less. Also there's the trade/buy/sell threads.



If for some reason you aren't able to get the money, I have some cash in my van...

Ok, so on troll and toad, the cost for the rest of the cards I need for the deck would be $65.03 with free shipping on card singles.
I don't have allowance, but do you know if there is anyone who will buy my cards?
