OMG!!! I LOVE Fireflies and Vanilla Twilight(the only Owl City i've heard) SOOOO MUCH!!!! They are like, my FAVORITE SONGS EVER!!!!

So flaming is okay? Because that's all they've done. If you posted an entire thread about how you love Pokemon, and I came in a said: "Pokemon sucks. It's a kids game." Would you be happy? Or would you tell me to leave? Because that's the same thing here.

If yopu want to create a thread against Owl City, then do that. Don't make me feel bad about liking a certain type of music.

Nah, bro, they're not trying to make you feel bad about your taste in music (though I know a few members here that would). They're just voicing their opinions on the subject, and it's not meant to be an attack against anyone, really. Disagreement =/= Flaming.

Imagining that this whole forum wasn't about Pokemon, I'd be fine with that situation. You're entitled to your opinion, and if you think it's a kid's game that's just fine. I disagree, whatever, the world keeps spinning.

Creating an Owl City hate thread would be redundant, as we have an Owl City thread right here, for both positive and negative views. It would be locked in a heartbeat.

That's just being rude. Not only does that have no meaning, but it's attacking Owl City. If you want to express your views in a creative way, negative or positive, then fine. But don't post jerky comments that have no meaning.

Dude that guy was High when he wrote Fireflies. Also he said "leave my door open just to crash" so yeah he already looks like a pot head.

God, try and pick up what MulesMyles was saying. This is a thread on opinion; it's to discuss whether Owl City is good or bad. If one makes a sarcastic remark about Owl City then it's his opinion. It would only be considered flaming if you pulled a Darth Pika.. Something similar to

"(insert band here sucks details on why blahblah; honestly you guys have a dumb taste in music." That is flaming. As long as someone attacks the topic it's fine, it only is considered flaming if you attacked the people discussing the topic.

As for my opinion, Owl City is nice, I like Vanilla Twilight. :)

You'd have to be pretty baked to make the kind of music Owl City produces.

The forum rules clearly state to show respect towards others. They don't say anything about being nice to a band. If I want to say I hate Owl City, and if anyone does, we will (so long as we keep it relatively PG and stuff). If someone wants to say they like it, I don't care. Like what you like, as long as I can hate what I hate. safariblade is completely correct in saying Adam Young is talented when it comes to using his Mac. He is is yet another "musician" who throws a bunch of heartwarming and generic lyrics together to make hormonally challenged teenage girls and anyone who has ever heard Indietronica in their life fall in love with him.

Okay, that may have been overboard. I just don't like his music. I'm not trying to attack anyone who likes him, but he does nothing to deserve all the hype he gets. Everyone can like whatever kind of music they want to and I won't judge you, but I will, however, judge the band/artist.
