pessimism or just bad?

Hey guys. Today, I played a bunch of matches on PlayTCG. Any normal person would probably break even, but that's obviously not why I made this thread. I lost every single match, with and against multiple decks. I used Garbodor/Terrakion, Darkrai/Hydreigon, And Fluffychomp. Overall, I got crushed multiple times. For the first batch of battles, my opponent played Accelgor/Gothitelle/Darkrai. I battled once with each deck listed above and I never took any prizes (that or I only took one or two). Needless to say, I was disappointed. Not only in my deck, but in myself. I couldn't find out where I misplayed, despite the fact that I obviously did. By now, I was feeling down, but I decided to try another game out. It ended up being a Garbodor/Terrakion mirror match. I wasn't feeling terribly good, because the mirror is pretty much just killing each other's Terrakion. Of course, I get my Terrakion EX pumped up, but he gets his Terrakion ready before I get mine doing any significant damage. I lose my energy in play and from there I can't do anything. So, overall, i ended up about 0-5 with various decks, none of which are particularly awful.

This brings me to my point. This isn't some freak accident. I've probably done at least 50 battles on PlayTCG and I've only won probably 5 times. I don't get it. I know I'm misplaying somewhere, but I just can't find out where. Am I just being pessimistic about my games, or am I just doomed to be bad at this game?

I had this problem. Here is the thread I made:
http://www.pokebeach.com/forums/thread-i-got-bad-luck-in-a-game-now-i-can-t-play-well?highlight=I+got+bad+luck+in+a+game%2C+now+I+can%27t+play+well

The best thing to do is take about 5 days off.
If that doesn't work, maybe it's your decklists. Strive to get good decklists.

Get 'em reviewed, and take a break. You're probably going waaaay too hard for your own good. Fifty games is a lot. I don't play more than two in a row. It's ok to be frustrated because you want to get better, but don't get too down on yourself. In the end, it's a game. And you're supposed to have fun. If you're not having fun, take a break.

If you want, take a video of a couple games you play on PlayTCG. I can look at it for you and tell you if/where you misplayed. I've done this for a lot of people in the past and they're always surprised by just how much they're doing wrong that they weren't aware of.

I didn't play 50 games in a row. I've played probably that many games overall on PlayTCG. Saying that I've won about one of every ten games feels even worse now. I'll definitely take a break for a bit this week, since I start school again. I'll also work on tweaking my lists for more consistency. I just can't get anything out to stay anymore.

Well, this morning I tried to record a match on PlayTCG with Camtasia Studio 7. It ended up being a half hour game that ended with me losing (of course), but when I viewed the video, there was no video, only audio. I have no idea how this happened, and i don't know if you can fix it either, so for now, no match until I can play a match on my desktop.

The match was Darkrai/Hydreigon vs Garbodor/Terrakion, which sounds heavily one-sided, and it was for a bit. Once I got my Garbodor out, he moved no more energies, but he manually attached to Hydreigon and a Mewtwo and killed my two remaining Terrakion, at which point I conceded. My other Terrakion was prized, of course, as was my single Tool Scrapper to get rid of pesky Eviolite. He killed my Terrakion-EX at the beginning before I got my Garbodor scarfed. I used Juniper a lot, and I threw away some resources near the end to try to get a Catcher, but of course it wasn't there, even though there were two left in my ~20 card deck. It ended better than my other matches (probably because this was meant to be a one-sided matchup on my part) but I still couldn't win. I'll try to get a video out today for you all to see.

Ill battle you :)

I know exactly what you mean, but honestly it happens to everybody. I have heard a lot of grumbling about playtcg shuffling being off. Almost every match I play I do not get a basic, and I usually mulligan 2-3 times or more. I think it also has a lot to do with the layout / manually doing everything. When I played PTCGO I felt more confident and I could play faster without misplaying at all. I loved the layout PTCGO had along with the chat and what not. When I use Playtcg I misplay quite often and seem to get flustered a lot. I am glad PTCGO multiplayer is going back online sometime this week! =)
