I named my dog Lucario. . . Don't question me? My other dog's name is Dogmeat [Fallout fans will get this ;) ]

I know this sounds hypocritical of me, but that's actually an epic name for a dog (Lucario) ^_^
It's funny, because on of my fellow Pokemon-obsessed friends calls my dog Zigzagoon, because they could practically pass for twins ^_^

One of my kittens is named Mew (and another one Boots after the Shrek character and because she has paws that look like boots...I wanted to name her 'Shoe' after the South Park parody of Pokemon, but I don't think anyone would've gotten the reference). Other than that, I named that one cat's mother after the nickname I gave my Shaymin in Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky, which was Chastity. There's not much stake in naming pets after cartoon/video game characters as far as I'm concerned, though, because too many people like to do that (case-in-point: I know this guy who actually named his black and white tomcat after Sylvester from Looney Tunes, and his dog is King Koopa because he thought it'd sound cooler than just calling it Bowser).
i got the south park reference.
sort of offtopic: some day im goin2 get a black labrador and name him: blackie chan

I have a sister named Abra (I'm not even kidding, ask anyone who knows me)

And a cousin named Aron

Not pets but still kinda cool.

Oh, man, I think instead of naming my pet after a Pokemon, (that humiliating :O) I'll name my kids after one. EXCELLENT IDEA
DOCTOR: "Congratulations sir, it's a girl."
WIFE: "Oh honey, what should we name her?"
ME: "Hm... howzabout Latias MILTANK? Since it's a girl n' stuff."
DOCOTR/WIFE/EVERYBODY: "..."

It could be turned into a heartwarming story. Anyway, yeah, I've never had an animal named after a Pokemon. In all honesty, I think it's a bit weird to name what is essentially a family member after a liscensed character >_>

if you think about it, a lot of pokemon could make decent kid names, including latias. luxio, eevee, ledian, illumise, altaria could all work in different cultures..

^Lol

I'm naming all my goldfish Goldeen and from now on. My pet Bearded Dragon is no longer called Carl, instead, Tyranitar.

Yes, I can change a pet's name. Why? Because I can.

Some pokemon name CAN work for pet names.

I suppose you could name a cat eevee or shinx.

If your on a farm you could call your cow Numel.

Some names do work.

YOu can for lizards and fish, but for dogs, cats, or any other larger animal, I really strongly recommend not changing their names, unless you do it within like a month of getting them. If they are already used to a name, they can get really confused by a name change.

I'm pretty sure eevee is a name but spelled differently. I want to name a child poliwag.

^please do. I'll sell you my firstborn.
Anyway, yeah, I still think it's weird to name any animate object after a liscensed character.

Ok. If I get a big dog, I'm naming it Lucario.
If I get twin puppies, Plusle and Minun.

Also, I got 2 goldfish. Of course I'm going to name them Lucario and Zoroark :D

On Pokemon XD,I gotz a Dellcaty named C.C. because it's our cat's name. So C.C. is called Dellcaty because she has the personalety of one. ( C.C. stands for calico cat so I guess we haven't named her) Plus she purrs when you get near her.

That's kind of, harsh.

Anyways, when I was little, like 7 or 8, I named my goldfish, Goldeen.

Whoa...

That's pretty creepy...

My fish was ALSO named Goldeen...

Plot twist? Maybe...

Anyway, that was like 7 years ago. I would never name a pet after a pokemon now.
