Well today was my pre release for Triumphant. Yay. I got a few good pulls thats for sure.
But I find this card very interesting;
He has several good points;
-High HP
-Flexable energy cost
-Free Retreat
-Good resistance
But like all cards, Pidgeot has bad points;
-Below average damage output.
-Lighting weakness.
-Slower to set up then a stage 1 is.
However, to me, the pro's outweigh the con's.
Take DialgaChomp for example, they only have enough resources to retreat dialga when they need to heal it. They cant just keep retreating every time I hit them with headwind. Therefore, Headwind will hinder its attacks.
The main lightning pokemon is luxray so a simple fighting tech can be used. An other advantage of being able to use any color energy.
However, overall, I am not sure what to combo/pair Pidgeot with.
Or what the best luxray counter would be?
What do you guys think? Is pidgeot good, bad, or somewhere in between???
EDIT: I was thinking about this some more and I think this could work well with it;
Okay so originally I had Marowak as my good partner choice for this bird, but then after looking around some more, I found Dugtrio.
While its attacks are less effective, it still resists luxray AND hits it for weakness. It has free retreat which is a plus, but mainly, its Poke Body is what makes him great.
When I use Headwind, the obvious answer is to retreat. Especially if your an SP deck. However, with Sinkhole, they will be punished if they retreat.
And if they Poke Turn, they just used up some more resources.
Plus, this body is stackable. Meaning, if I have 2 dugtrio on my bench, then thats 40 damage.
