I know this isn't going to happen in a million yyears but I think it would have been a great idea to leave ash behind in the black and white anime. Maybe for instance, while Ash and Pikachu were traviling back to Kanto from Sinnoh their ship sinks and thhey are separated. Ash is rescued right away by being forced on a life boat but pikachu is left in the ship. Another young man, maybe the age of 15(possably the male character from B/W) sees pikachu on the ship and rescues it. Then they travel back home to Isshu were eventually years pass and they have become partners and beat the gyms there.
It would also be awesome that for the finally of the Black and White series they make a movie and at the end. The guy and Pikachu go to see proffeser Oak and right before the movie ends a older ash comes in and says, "Pikachu?"
I think this might have brought back tons of popularity to the pokemon franchise.
