PJO The Lightning Thief

I just look at IGN before going to see a movie. For example, I saw that this movie was complete trash. Therefore, I'm not going to waste my time or money to go see it.

You can't compare anything to Avatar lol. jk but seriously that was a good movie. Idk I guess I'm going to see it and then leave frustrated. :[

If you haven't read the book, would the movie be considered good? I'm planning on watching it today, but you guys are really discouraging. :x

I'll just read the book after.

Watch the movie if you have never read the book, if have don't.

The movie would be very good if you did not read the book.

Terrible movie. Dare I say worst so far this year.

I think the only reason I sort of liked it was because it had mythology in it. Other than that, the plot was bad, the technicalities they didn't really think out, and there were a lot of things that just didn't connect. Could it have been turned into a great movie? Most likely, but you can tell they didn't really spend much time on it. They also seemed to focus on targeting the little kids (and I saw mostly twelve year olds or whatever there), yet they had some swear words and sexual references, I lol'd. They could have easily made the movie attract a larger age group, and made the movie more interesting. However, from the little kids and adults leaving the theater, most of them liked it, probably because of all the fantasy type stuff, I guess.

Yeah Limitless, they could have made it really long, like in the book, and they would satisfy more people.
I know they targeted the little kids, but the youth was not interested, making it a terrible movie for those who saw it. I'm sure they will regret it. Luckily Rick Riordan will please us in the Kane Chronicles in May, after this disappointment.

The best part of the movie was the preview for Karate Kid. :x

I couldn't stop laughing after Jackie Chan had his chop stick and he was gonna catch a fly with it, but then he used a fly swatter lol.

well...dmaster has my idea there, except not as terrible as I thought it was going to be, the actor's were sub moderate, the story was childish to bring in that specific group (so to speak), and the cinematography was not bad.... just not bad. all in all it's a kids flick, except for karate kid, that made my day, lmao. cya

Well, I will admit I didn't have high expectations, but I thought it would be at least as good as the first few Harry Potter movies, and I can safely say it was much worse than those (especially at completely SLANDERING the book series).

I'm seeing it on sunday, but I grew up with those books, literally. I absolutely loved them. Percy Jackson, Alex Rider and Artemis Fowl were just about the only three series of books I read when I was younger, and read them all over and over. Percy Jackson books were just incredible, and the ending was ingenious - Luke being the hero of the prophecy, the descision being Percy had to give him the blade, and the blade being Anabeth's knife. Awesomes :)

So I hope they don't completely ruin the books with the film. Don't even get me started about the alex rider film :(

So you mean I've spent hours and hours hacking into movie sights to try and watch it without going to the theatres and... you guys are saying that the show's horrible? That's discouraging. And Fridge, I agree with you, they totally messed up the Alex Rider film.
And since they left out the part with Kronos and the Oracle and Clarisse, etc, I don't think there will be any sequels. They should have named it something else, it wasn't at all like the book. I mean, Annabeth for instance, in the book, is 12 years old with blonde hair. In the movie she's a 23 year old brunette. Sad.
