Play! Pokémon (English) in Japan

In a little less than two weeks I will be moving to Japan for a job and I want to continue playing in Japan. I was curious if anyone knows if I can play competitively using English cards anywhere in Japan or how I can find out. I have Googled my heart out and searched on the Play! Pokémon database and I can't find anything. I figured at the very least Tokyo should occasionally have something.

While I am not opposed to playing with Japanese cards, I currently own no Japanese cards and that would be quite an investment to start a competitive Japanese deck from scratch. Also, when I move back to the States in a few years, I most definitely would not be able to use those Japanese cards, so buying Japanese cards doesn't really seem worthwhile to me.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Pokebeach, sadly, does not have a sticky regarding "Is my deck legal in my territory?", so I had to do some digging for an answer:

Answer to your question

^ If you don't like links, here's a brief summary:

TPCi does not run OP in japan. Creatures does, so in Japanese tourneys held within Japan's boundaries, only Japanese cards are allowed. But in international tourneys run by P!P, Japan is classified under Asia Pacific, so by rule, they have to use English cards while they are playing under a different language rule set than what they are used to back in Japan.

Moved from the TCG Competitive to the TCG Help as the OP is looking for advice on P!P rather than strategy. ~bbninjas

I live in Tokyo. I don't play competitively but I know of quite a few pokegyms around. Singles are really cheap, deck cores are relatively cheap. I wouldn't worry too much. Only thing that you'll find more expensive than in English are trainer cards.

Thanks everyone for the information! You guys are very helpful!

@ViralRiver, you'll have to let me know your favorite Pokégyms and stores to buy cards! I'll be like a two hour train-ride from Tokyo.
