Writing PMD: Explorers of Time - PokéBeach Edition! Final Chapter! Help Me Decide The Next One!

It's a Pokemon game... nothing special happens when plot is concerned apart from some text (and the occasional boss battle). No matter the text, in the end what you'll have is another battle in a main series game. Here it's similar, except that what you'll have is another dungeon. And to be honest, I prefer twenty dungeon floors than twenty trainer dummies that litter a route just to force me to get experience.

<Tails> *ahem* Everyone, thank you for your prompt preparations. Since we know TGK will likely show up wherever the Time Gears are located, we put together a list of potential Time Gear locations. Now we're all going to split up into groups and check these locations. The rest of you don't matter because you're just side characters, but Keeper and Athena will be checking out the Northern Desert.
<Keeper> The Norther Dessert? Like, ice cream? >.>
<Tails> No, no, "desert" with one s. It's up here in this north west region.

I'm getting Sonic Colo{u}rs flashbacks.

"Lisps?"
"No, wisps. With a 'W'."

Chapter 14: The truth about TT

Keeper and I went to town to some shopping and swapping and then headed off to the Crystal Cave, a location in the north east part of the region, right on the border of some more suspicious map-fog. Not only would we have to explore this place, but we'd have to find some kind of secret entrance to a place that would hold a Time Gear, too. Something told me that we'd find that entrance once we reached the bottom floor of the dungeon.

And so we started on our quest through the dungeon. Things started off poorly when both Keeper and I got heavily damaged and poisoned by a couple of Seviper, but things got better after that. We picked up Seviper and Shieldon partners and worked our way through the dungeon steadily, despite the powerful attacks used by many of the Pokémon here. After 11 ridiculous levels and more Gravelers self-destructing than I'd care to admit, we finally made it to the bottom floor.

<Keeper> Welp, this is the bottom floor alright.
<Athena> There has to be something here. There's even a save statue!
<Keeper> Maybe these shiny crystals will give us a clue?

Sure enough, deeper into the cave were 3 very large, very shiny crystal pillars: one red, one purple, and one yellow.

<Athena> Oh yeah, this is definitely a puzzle. Probably leads to a new section since we have a save statue and all.
<Keeper> Well, let's figure it out, then! *touches a crystal* Ohhey, it changes colour.
<Athena> That's probably part of the puzzle, though we still don't have a clue on what kind of a solution we're looking for. Let me try using my magic dizzy powers. *touches crystal*
<Keeper> Dude, we have a name for it now, it's the Dimension Scream. Geez, keep your plot information in order.
<Athena> Yeah, yeah, fine, whatever.
<Keeper> Did you get anything from your vision?
<Athena> I got a voice instead of a vision again. There was some kind of mumbo-jumbo and I more or less kind of tuned it out, but I'm pretty sure we need to turn all of the crystals the same colour, and something about One Approved, and he's blue, so.... let's try making all of the crystals blue?
<Keeper> BRILLIANT!

Keeper and I walked among the crystals, touching them over and over again until they all turned blue. Shortly after, the cave started to rumble and shake around us. The crystals glowed brightly for a moment and then each one shot out a beam of light towards their center, forming a large ball of energy. Keeper and I dived for cover as an even larger crystal began to emerge from the ground, complete with an entrance to yet another dungeon.

<Keeper> Woohoo! Let's go! *runs in*
<Athena> But but but.... I didn't even get to use the save statue yet.... :<

It seemed like I had no say in the matter though as I was summarily dragged into the next dungeon. I ended up sending Seviper and Shieldon home in preparation for a (very likely) upcoming boss battle, but not before Shieldon managed to KO himself on a Bagon and use up one of our Reviver Seeds. -_-; This dungeon was rather similar to the last, though we did find ourselves stuck in a monster house at some point when I was low on PP. Eventually, we made our way down through all the floors and to the bottom where we found, to our complete lack of surprise, a lake. It was in a large, cavernous room with crystals all around and a familiarly suspicious glow coming from one section.

<Keeper> Hey, look Athena! It's the lake!
<Athena> Yeah, I saw.
<Keeper> There's someone over on that island area it looks like.
<Athena> Huh? I can't see anything. Stupid stock location graphics.
<Keeper> Well, we can go check it out.

Keeper and I hiked over to the other side of the lake to find that the island we saw wasn't actually an island, but a peninsula with a small land bridge leading to it. On the outcropping was none other than our sworn enemy, TGK confronting a terrified One Approved.

<Keeper> Ohshi- it's TGK.
<TGK> Mwahahahahahaha, now I shall take the Time Gear!
<OA> Don't do it! :<
<Athena> Yep, this is my vision alright.
<Keeper> Does that mean that small, blue, scared guy is OA? Let's go save him!
<TGK> I'm sorry, OA, I have nothing against you, but I need that Time Gear.
<OA> Come on, TGK, just leave the Time Gear alone. You don't have to do any of this.
<TGK> You know me?
<OA> Of course I do. You're TGK the thief. PG24 and Cinesra told me all about you. In fact, I set up a trap just in case you managed to get here.
<TGK> Wait, what?! What the *)$# did you do?!

As Keeper and I began to make our way over the land bridge, the cavern started shaking. Suddenly, a huge wall of crystals sprang up around the peninsula and all over the lake, blocking TGK from being able to steal the Time Gear.

<TGK> You imbecile! You think this will stop me?! I don't care what I have to do or who I have to kill. I'm getting that Time Gear!
<Keeper> Well, you've got 2 more bodies standing in your way! *rushes in*
<Athena> Yep, we're not letting you get that Time Gear either! *epic pose*
<TGK> Look, just get out of my way and you won't have to get hurt.
<Keeper> Pfffft, no way! *razzleberry*
<TGK> You have got to be kidding me... *facepalm*
<Athena> Wooo, boss battle time!

Before TGK could get a single hit in, I smacked him with a Smokescreen and Keeper and I pummeled him with moves. We thought he was down and out, but then in a single bound, he sprang forward and knocked both of us aside and hard into the ground.

<TGK> Now, get out of my way. >:|
<Keeper> Lolno. Even if it's just my useless body lying in your path, I'm still going to block you, punk.
<TGK> Well then, I guess you leave me no choice. *readies claws*
<Athena> Keeper, nooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.....
<???> Stop!

Before TGK could strike, suddenly TTwas there, blocking the path and holding TGK still!

<Keeper> Oh, TT, you're my hero! <3
<TT> Keeper-kohai! Stay safe and let me handle this. <3 *tosses TGK into the crystal wall like a boss*
<TGK> Ugh, geez, that hurts. Wait, what, it's TT? :O
<TT> Yep! I've had a hard time finding you, TGK.
<Keeper> Wait... you guys know each other? o_o;
<TGK> Heh, you're tenacious alright. I'm surprised to even see you in this world. Well, you'll have to work harder than that to stop me!
<TT> So, you want to fight then. BRING IT.

TT lunged at TGK with a powerful move, but suddenly TGK was gone!

<TT> He's gone?! ^&*$%^&*! *disappears*
<Athena> Welp, how's that for some nice confusing plot.
<Keeper> And I'm still too weak to move. This is lame. :<
<Teal> Hold on guys, we're coming!

Everyone else from the guild was running across the crystal path towards us! They had made it to the secret cave after all.

<Zyflair> Oh geez, you guys don't look so good.
<Luis> Yeah, you alright?
<Athena> No, I'm lying like this bruised and beaten because it's fashionable. *sigh*
<Keeper> She means that we're injured and could use medical assistance.
<SR> Alright, well, let's get you back to the guild then.
<OA> Bring me too, if you don't mind. >_>

We teleported out of the Crystal Cave and back to the guild where we were patched up and left to rest. And boy, what a rest. I felt like I could sleep for days.

<MtC> *ding ding* Welcome back to the land of the living! Man did you guys sleep forever!
<Athena> I wouldn't mind hitting the snooze for another eternity or two...
<Keeper> How's OA? He doing okay?
<MtC> Yeah, he's fine, no worries. And we're glad you're recovered too! I'll let everyone know. *ding ding*
<Everyone> Yay! :D *glomp*
<Athena> I could have done without the glomp.... x_x;
<Teal> We're so glad you're doing well. :D
<Keeper> Oh, come on, it's no big deal. Besides, I've got important news, so let's all go out to the meeting room.

And so Keeper and I led everyone back out of our room and to the meeting room so Tails, IA, and OA could join in, and we told the story of TT and TGK meeting.

<Tails> So TT and TGK knew each other before this?!
<Keeper> Yes, that is indeed what I just said, isn't it?
<SR> So, uh, where is TT anyway?
<Keeper> I think he ran off to chase after TGK....

Suddenly a loud noise started blaring across the room. The emergency siren!

<SR> Peer? What's going on?
<peer> Special alert from DNA, sir! He sent one of his officers over!
<Magnemite> Everyone needs to gather in the town! It's an emergency! DNA will tell you more about what's going on there.
<Athena> Welp, I guess we better go then.... come on!

It seemed like the whole town was gathered in the square downtown. Even PG24 and Cinesra made it out. And right up front, standing with DNA, was the famous TT himself.

<Cinesra> OA! :D
<OA> Cinesra! :D PG24! :D
<PG24> 'Sup, bro? :D
<Cinesra> Your Time Gear still cool?
<OA> Yeah, it's trapped in Crystal Lake. I don't think TGK will be able to get past my crystal trap.
<Keeper> TT! :D
<TT> Keeper and Athena! It is good to see you are recovered.
<Keeper> You too, man. So, what's going on with TGK?
<TT> He got away. :<
<Keeper> So what was going on with you guys anyway?
<DNA> Hold that question, because our announcement is going to commence! Everyone, gather around!
<Keeper> Fine. >.>
<DNA> *takes the stage* Ahem! Everyone is here, so let's begin! This meeting is about the recent stealing of Time Gears by the notoriously evil and black-hearted thegroyvlekid, otherwise known as TGK because we're not going to keep typing that name over and over. As you all learned back the first time this happened (though we're saying it again just in case you forgot), the flow of time stops in those areas where a Time Gear has been stolen from, which basically sucks balls. However, he was foiled this most recent attempt and the super sekrit Time Gear at Crystal Lake has been protected!
<Everyone> Yay! :D
<DNA> And the hero who protected it is.... none other than OA!
<Everyone> Yay! :D
<DNA> And the hero who saved OA, is the wonderful and amazingly famous and sexy, TT!
<Everyone> Yay! :D
<Ursaring> TT is so dreamy. <3
<TT> Officer DNA... do you mind if I step in and take the meeting from here?
<DNA> Sure, go for it.
<TT> Everyone, thanks for the applause and all, but the truth is.... TGK is still out there, so no one is safe yet. He's going to keep trying to get that Time Gear. But also... there's something else I need to explain. The truth is, I know TGK. I knew him before all this started.
<Everyone> :O!
<TT> I know this is going to sound crazy, but, but it's important to understand.... TGK came here from the future.
<Everyone> o_o??
<TT> In this future world, TGK is a notorious criminal with a large bounty on his head. He fled to the past to escape from the Pokémon hunting for him. It was after he got here that he came up with his most dastardly plan yet....
<Tails> Yes? What is it?
<TT> To take all the Time Gears, duh. He wants to paralyze the entire world. The more Time Gears he takes, the more time gets messed up. If he gets them all, the planet just completely stops. Seasons don't change, wind doesn't blow, basically everything dies and is a complete ruin.
<Athena> Why would anyone want that, honestly? Super villains really ought to start coming up with better plans.
<TT> So, yeah, there's a whole bunch of problems related to this, including how the flow of time has been messed up and everything. And if he keeps going, things are going to keep getting worse and worse.
<Luis> So, TT sir, pardon me for asking, but... how the hell do you know all this? I mean, I know you're wise and knowledgeable and a super great explorer and everyone loves you, but... how do you know the future?
<TT> I would have thought the answer would be simple.
<Athena> Yeah, I already figured it out, myself. >_>
<TT> I, too, come from the future.
<Everyone> :O!
<TT> In fact, I specifically came here from the future to catch TGK. I'm sorry for not telling you all about this sooner, but, honestly... would you have believed me?
<Teal> Yeah... probably not.
<TT> Besides, I didn't want TGK to know I came back, too.
<Tails> It's okay, we all understand and love you, TT. <3
<DNA> Yeah, everything's chill, bro. <3 For now, we need to focus all of our efforts on catching this TGK scum.
<MtC> Let me help you, TT-senpai!
<Zyflair> Me too, pretty please!
<Luis> Don't forget me!
<Cinesra> My bros and I will help too, however we can.
<TT> Good! We can all work together to put an end to this madman's schemes!
<Everyone> Yay! :D
<OA> If TGK is going to keep trying to get my Time Gear, he knows he's going to have to come after me.
<PG24> The 3 of us can go back to Crystal Lake. If we spread some rumours about how we're going to seal the Time Gear for good, could that act as a bait?
<TT> Seems dangerous. I'm not sure I like using the 3 of you as bait after you were beaten so easily before.
<Cinesra> Sometimes risks need to be taken. *shrugs*
<TT> Well, if you think it's best... alright everyone, you heard the Pokémon! Let's start spreading those rumours!
<Everyone> Yay! :D
<TT> In the meantime, the Trio will go to Crystal Lake and we'll work out some kind of a protection plan for when TGK comes.
<Everyone> Yay! :D
<Teal> I'll help take him too!
<Keeper> Oooh, me too!
<DNA> Don't forget me! Taking down criminals is my job!
<TT> Actually... I'd prefer to take down TGK alone.
<Everyone> Awww.... :<
<TT> TGK's not dumb. He's going to be super cautious. And if everyone sets up an ambush at Crystal Lake, well, he's going to notice.
<Keeper> I guess that makes sense. >_>
<Tails> Alright guild members, you heard TT. The Guild's mission to take down TGK is being removed. For now, please only provide support to TT as needed.
<Teal> So lame. :<
<TT> Thank you for all of your help and understand, everyone. We'll capture TGK with any means necessary!
<Everyone> Yay! :D

And so TT headed off with Cinesra, PG24, and OA and the rest of the guild members all headed off to the guild.

<Tails> Alright everyone, now that the plot is settled, TT needs time to work, so I want everyone to go back to doing their regular duties for a while.
<Everyone> Yay, filler dungeons! :D

Team Awesome:
Athena:
Lv. 33 Charmander (Ember, Smokescreen, Scratch, Growl)
Keeper: Lv. 34 Totodile (Leer, Scratch, Water Gun, Bite)

Available Teammates: Sandslash (24), Oddish (11), Paras (13), Psyduck (10), Poliwag (9), Machop (6), Geodude (7), Doduo (10), Krabby (12), Spinarak (10), Mareep (21), Hoppip (13), Wooper (11), Phanpy (20), Larvitar (23), Zigzagoon (15), Lotad (11), Nincada (24), Ninjask (27), Mawile (25), Seviper (336), Barboach (1), Shinx (18), Budew (12), Cranidos (26), Shieldon (27), Gastrodon (East Sea) (13), Hippopotas (27), Skorupi (25), Carnivine (24)

Player Notes:

I really did have some rough spots right at the beginning of the first dungeon, between poisoning Seviper and self-destructing Graveler all in a bunch. >_< Nothing too serious, but I did have to use a couple Oran berries. Things kind of evened out after that. The monster house timing was unfortunate because I had used up all of my PP for all of my moves except Smokescreen, but I was also to use a Foe-Hold Orb to stone everyone and beat them all with regular attacks one by one.

TGK was a very easy boss. Smokescreen + Ember + Ice Fang and he was out cold. And then of course he still beat us anyway because lolplot, but oh well.

Speaking of lolplot, I have a feeling that things aren't quite as simple as they seem so far. Partially because it seems like it would be much too simple and short of a story otherwise. I could make some guessed, but I guess I'll just find out after I complete a few more filler dungeons. :U

Wow you must be friendly. In my Mystery Dungeon game I get nearly no recruits ;~;

What can I say? Everyone likes me. :p I feel like I'm turning down a bunch, too, since I want to avoid getting too many duplicates.

Closer, come closer. Let me see your face...
There's no boss that is particularly hard. It's still a Pokemon game :(.

Then what am I hoarding all of these oran berries and max elixirs for? :U

<Tails> Alright everyone, now that the plot is settled, TT needs time to work, so I want everyone to go back to doing their regular duties for a while.
<Everyone> Yay, filler dungeons! :D

We're getting to the "OMG" point in the story; I can't wait for that because honestly that arc of the story is by far the best despite the tone.

Chapter 15: The ACTUAL truth about TT

Over the next few days, Keeper and I stayed busy completing jobs in the filler dungeons. We managed to do quite a few jobs in the Foggy Forest and Northern Desert, earning some nice rank points and some sweet loot, too. As time passed, there was more and more talk and rumour spreading about what was going on at Crystal Lake, but we heard no news from TT. Keeper was getting nervous, but I was rather chill. Plot will unfold in its own time.

The morning of the third day, we finally had an update during our morning meeting...

<Tails> Still no news yet, but....
<Alarm> *RNNNNG* *RNNNNG* *RNNNNG*
<peer> Magnemite's here! Must be some news from DNA.
<Magnemite> Hey dudes! TGK's been captured!
<Everyone> Yay! :D
<Magnemite> But wait! There's more!
<Everyone> :O! *waits*
<Magnemite> TGK was captured by none other than the wonderful, great, powerful, wise, and handsome TT! He is planning on taking TGK back to the future with him.
<MtC> Wait, TT is going back to the future? :<
<Luis> How is he even going to time travel again anyway?
<Magnemite> Pfft, you expect me to know? Some sort of timey-wimey dimensional hole in the town square or something. Anyway, he wanted me to tell you that he'd like to say goodbye so he'd love it if you come to see him off. Maybe you can ask him then if you want.
<Zyflair> Alright, let's go!

We all rushed out of the Guild and off to the town. There was, indeed, some kind of timey-wimey dimensional hole in the town square, glowing blue and purple and shiny. DNA was also there, and many of the villagers, but no sign of TT.

<DNA> Here's the timey-wimey dimensional hole! Isn't it so pretty?
<Everyone> Oooooooooh.... :O
<Teal> Wow, this sure is something!
<Zyflair> So shiny pretty.... much touch hole....
<DNA> Hey! Stop it! You don't want to get sucked into the future, do you?
<Zyflair> Whoops. >.>
<Keeper> Ohhay, it's Cinesra, PG24, and OA! 'Sup?
<Cinesra> 'Sup, Keeper.
<Keeper> Did the plan work?
<PG24> Yep, it was flawless!
<OA> TT captured TGK and we got all the Time Gears back, too.
<Keeper> That's awesome.
<Athena> *mutters* Also incredibly fishy... no way the resolution of the problems was this simple when the main characters weren't even involved....
<Keeper> What did you say Athena?
<Athena> Nothing, nothing, just me being egotistic again.
<Cinesra> Anyway, TT should be here any moment.
<SR> Look, there he is!

We all moved out of the way as TT proceeded down the street with TGK in tow. TGK had been tied up with a whole manner of ropes and pulleys and duct tape, with a gag in his mouth, and was being led by a couple of Sableye. Everyone started muttering and jeering at how evil and terrible TGK looked and how wondrous and great TT was for capturing him. The stopped right in front of the hole and TT turned to address everyone.

<TT> Hey everyone! TGK has been captured! :D
<Everyone> Yay! :D
<TT> It's all thanks to you guys that we made it this far!
<Everyone> Yay for us! :D
<TT> As you all can plainly see, this guy is basically the worst. Vicious, wicked, and just all around nasty. Hopefully, everyone here will be safe now that he is gone.
<TGK> *angrymumblewords*
<TT> Unfortunately, this also means that it is now time for me to depart your world and go back to my own time.
<Everyone> Awwwww.... :<
<TT> Cinesra, PG24, OA, take care of everything, alright?
<PG25> Got it. We'll make sure the Time Gears are safe again.
<DNA> Thank you so much, TT. You have saved us all!
<TT> And now I leave the world in your hands. *bows* Sableye, lead our prisoner through the timey-wimey dimensional hole.
<Tails> Awwww, TT, I'm going to miss you so much.... ;~;
<SR> We all are.... D':
<TT> One last thing before I go... Keeper and Athena?

Keeper and I looked at each other and shrugged before stepping through the crowd and going right up to the front by TT and the timey-wimey dimensional hole.

<Keeper> We're right here! Thank you so much for all of your help.
<TT> And now this is goodbye..... OR IS IT?
<Keeper> ... wait, what? o_o;
<TT> I think... you two are coming with me! *yoink*
<Athena> Wait, hey, be careful of the tail bro!
<Keeper> What's going on! Waaaah!

Before we could move or protest, TT grabbed us both up and into in the timey-wimey dimensional hole with him....

<Everyone else> o_________o;;
<MtC> Keeper? Athena?
<Hole> *disappears*
<Teal> What the *#*% just happened? o_o;

Keeper and I flew through the timey-wimey dimensional hole, surrounded by flashing lights and swirling colours, just like we were in some kind of poorly-budgeted sci-fi movie. Before long, we both passed out from the strain.

Meanwhile, in some world that looked suspiciously like the dead, bleak ruins that TT described when he told us what would happen in a world where all the Time Gears were stolen....

<TT> Hey Chaos Jackal! I'm home! :D
<CJ> GRRRRRR....
<TT> I know it kind of took a while, but I managed to capture TGK.
<CJ> GRRRRRRRRRR....
<TT> Yeah, yeah, I know, "Those who seek to alter the course of history must be removed from history". I'll make sure to "take care" of him, no worries. Whereby "take care" I mean "brutally eliminate"
<CJ> GRRRR....
<TT> I understand. Anyway, I'm out.

... ... ...

I slowly came to in the middle of a dark, rocky cell...

<Keeper> Hey, Athena, psst, wake up!
<Athena> I'm up, I'm up... though I wish I weren't. x.x; Where are we?
<Keeper> I think it's some kind of jail... but I'm as much in the dark as you are. I've only been awake a couple minutes. Doors are locked and no other way out that I can see.
<Athena> I knew something deeper was going on... well, let me investigate and see what I can find out.
<Keeper> What are you going to do? Check the doors again?
<Athena> ... maybe. >.> *checks the doors again*
<Keeper> *sigh* It's no use.
<Athena> Well, let's see what we can figure out. TT grabbed us and dragged us into the shiny hole...
<Keeper> ... which was leading to the future! So is this the future?
<Athena> If so, it seems like a pretty crappy one to me. Makes me wonder why TT was in such a hurry to get back to this dump.
<Keeper> Or why did he take us along with him in the first place.
<Athena> Or why there's this creepy, ominous music playing.
<Keeper> How are we going to get back to our world? :<
<Athena> Well, I---

Suddenly, the doors opened and a group of Sableye entered our cell.

<Sableye> Oh good, they're awake. Let's make this quick.
<Keeper> Wait, what?

And then the proceeded to jump on us in a bunch and tie blindfolds on us.

<Keeper> Ohshi- I've been blindfolded!
<Athena> I know, dumbass!
<Keeper> How am I supposed to know what you know when I can't see?!
<Sableye> Shut up and follow us.
<Keeper> How am I supposed to follow you when I can't see?!
<Sableye> *shove*
<Keeper> I guess that works. >.>

We followed along in the direction the Sableye led us. We had no idea where we were going... though of course that was just as much because we had no idea where we were than it was because of the blindfolds. Eventually we stopped and were tied to... something, and then the blindfolds were removed.

<Keeper> Waaaah! Athena, you okay?
<Athena> As okay as I can expect to be when I'm tied up like a maiden in distress.
<???> Heh. You've got no idea what's going to happen, so I guess you can afford to be sarcastic.
<Keeper> Buh?

We both looked over to the right as a conveniently placed light suddenly turned on and illuminated the face of the Pokémon next to us. It was TGK! He was also bound up, just like Keeper and I were.

<Keeper> It's TGK!
<TGK> *sigh* You really do state the obvious.
<Athena> Hey, making fun of Keeper's obviousness is my job.
<TGK> Do guys have have any idea what you've gotten yourselves into?
<Athena> Well, between the barren jail cell and the blindfolding thugs, and being tied to some kind of giant object... I'm guessing this isn't Disneyland.
<TGK> This is a stockade.
<Athena> Oh, that really explains things.
<TGK> They're preparing to get rid of us for good.
<Keeper> Wait, what?! I mean, I can understand why they'd dispose of you, being so evil and vicious and nasty and thiefy and all.... but why get rid of us? :<
<TGK> Well, with that kind of attitude, I couldn't care less about what happens to you.
<Keeper> But we haven't done anything wrong! It's not like we're horrible Pokémon like you!
<Athena> You know, you can stop with the insults now, I think.
<TGK> *sigh*

With a flash, the lights for the entire area flashed on. I was able to clearly see that all 3 of us were tied around large columns set into a stone ground. I was also clearly able to see the group of menacing Sableye headed right for us.

<TGK> Ohhey, look, it's TT's underlings.
<TT> You mean, the amazingly wonderful and great and smart and handsome TT?!
<Athena> Yep, looks like him alright. He just came in.
<Sableye> Lord TT! *bows* Everything is as you wish.
<Keeper> Um, TT, sir? It's me, your old pal Keeper?
<TT> You did a good job, Sableye. Now it's time to be rid of them.
<Keeper> Wait, what?! D':
<Athena> I'm afraid I must strongly protest!
<TT> Ignore their stupid voices and go get ready.
<Keeper> My voice isn't stupid... :<
<Athena> TT, wait, please!
<Keeper> Yeah, TT, why are you doing this? D':
<TGK> *sigh* Try and keep your voice down, please, ignorant Totodile.
<Keeper> I DON'T WANT TO KEEP MY VOICE DOWN. I'M UPSET. D':
<TGK> >_< Look, if you want to escape, just trust me, alright?
<Keeper> And why should we trust you, you punk?!
<TGK> Would you prefer to be gotten rid of by those Sableye?
<Keeper> ... I guess not. >.>
<TGK> You, more intelligent Charmander. Can you do anything?
<Athena> Well, the other options are apparently too complicated, so how about a basic attack?
<Keeper> Oooh, attacks, I'm good at those.
<TGK> Alright, good. Now, just to wait for them to come forward for their attack...
<Keeper> Ohgooz, they're coming now, I can't even. ;~;
<TGK> Wait for the Sableye to use their Fury Swipes attack... that'll be our chance. If they cut one of the ropes loose in their frenzy, we can attack and make our escape.
<Keeper> What if--
<TGK> No "what ifs". Just do it!

The Sableye came for us as a group, 2 Pokémon for each of us. They extended their claws and started attacking in a frenzy. I gritted my teeth and endured, waiting for the chance to strike.

<Keeper> Oh, god, my HP is getting pummeled!
<Athena> Oh, shush, you have over 100 HP, man. You've got this!
<Keeper> Oh, look, there's a break in the rope!
<Athena> Mine too!
<TGK> Let's gooooooooo~!

At once, the 3 of us leaped forward and attacked the Sableye! They clearly weren't expecting their prey to fight back, so they jumped back in surprise.

<TT> What the *(^#$?!
<TGK> *smirk*

Suddenly, there was a huge flash of white light. I was blinded even more thoroughly than when I had been blindfolded earlier. It just wasn't a good day for eyesight. I felt TGK grab my hand. When the dazzles began to fade from the room....

<TT> Ohshi- they're gone. I won't let them get away with this! >:| Come on you numbskulls, let's go chase them.

Once TT and the others were gone, we came out from our hiding places.

<Keeper> Ugh, I got future dirt in my mouth... ._.;
<Athena> Well, I guess we're safe for now.
<TGK> Not safe enough. We need to get out of this place. Come with me!

Keeper and I looked at each other and shrugged and then followed TGK out of the room and through the... whatever place we were in. It was so dark, it made me wonder why TT had bothered having us blindfolded in the first place.

<Keeper> So, uh, TGK....
<TGK> Shut up and keep running.
<Keeper> I just want to know, is this the future?
<TGK> Yes, this is the future.
<Keeper> Are we going to be able to get back to our world?
<TGK> *sigh* What part of "shut up" don't you understand? I don't know and I don't care. Just focus on getting out of here for now!
<Keeper> *grumble* >.>

Finally, we made it through the whatever and out into... a really bleak and desolate area. The entire world appeared to be dead and grey with no movement or life of any kind.

<TT> This is the future? o_o; It's, uh, pretty dark and weird.
<TGK> Come on, let's keep moving.
<Keeper> Oh, jeez, more running? But I'm so worn out already...
<TGK> Would you rather be captured and taken back?
<Keeper> No, but... I can only run for so long. :<
<TGK> Well, fear not, there's a Kangaskhan statue and dungeon up ahead. We can rest for a bit there before we move on.
<Keeper> Look, I'm grateful you helped us get out of the stockade and all, but I still don't trust you.
<TGK> So, TT tried to have you murdered and I saved your life and you still think he's the good guy and I'm the bad guy?
<Athena> Admittedly, the plot has been kind of hinting at something like this, yes. I told you I thought everything was a bit too obvious.
<Keeper> Well, just because TT maybe isn't as great and wonderful as he was made out to be, that doesn't automatically make you good!
<TGK> Well, if you still refuse to trust me, I guess I'm outta here. Good luck! *turns to leave*
<Keeper> Shouldn't you at least wait for morning? It's pretty dark and hard to see out here.
<TGK> Hehehe, morning never comes here. Don't you understand it yet? The world has been paralyzed.
<Keeper> Oh, yeah, TT did talk about that before, connected to the loss of the Time Gears. In fact, this whole world is just like he described! But how--
<TGK> *sigh* You really do babble a lot. If I were you, I'd shut my mouth and get out of here ASAP. In fact, I'm still doing that as me. *flees*
<Keeper> I'm still confused... we stopped TGK from stealing the Time Gears. This shouldn't have happened.
<Athena> Yeah, well, who knows what happened in between our time and this time.
<Keeper> I guess so...
<Athena> Anyway, TGK was right about one thing at least: we need to get out of here before those Sableye come back. Thankfully, there's a save and storage spot right here!
<Keeper> Hurray!

Player Notes:

I actually played through the filler dungeons last night, which means that I had absolutely zero gameplay today as I was doing this chapter. :U I thought about playing through the dungeon, too, but decided against it since I don't know what kind of plot is going to happen after we get through, and this chapter is really long already.

The reveal about TT being a "bad guy" and TGK being not as bad as he's made out to me (and probably even a good guy) would have been a bit less obvious if they didn't make such a deal about TT being this super smart and awesome guy that everyone loves and on the other hand everyone always talking about out vicious and evil TGK was. I mean, I know I played it up a bit in the write ups, but even in game, it was fairly egregious. As such, it didn't really feel like much of a plot twist so much as it was a "oh, good, the game is finally getting somewhere now."

Also, Flamethrower is basically the best. I figured it was about time to just ditch Growl and just start using some of the 500 Max Elixirs I have saved up for when I run out of damaging moves in a dungeon. I also realized when updating Athena's moves that Keeper's move list was horribly out of date, too. I have more lackeys to add, too, but I can't remember them all, so updating that list will have to wait for a while.

I might actually start working on the next chapter today since I'm kind of disappointed that I didn't even get to play. :<

<Keeper> It's TGK!
<TGK> *sigh* You really do state the obvious.
<Athena> Hey, making fun of Keeper's obviousness is my job.
Fine, I guess it can be your job...

Great Chapter! Honestly, the reveal when I first played the game was really shocking [I was about 6] but also, there's the fact that Dusknoir is the Pokémon grim reaper. That makes it seem a bit darker, that the grim reaper of Pokémon is actually trying to KILL YOU...

I was underleveled compared to Athena and as such the final battle was a tedious test that took many, many attempts of trial and error.

With Athena's levels, she should get into possibly the mid 40's (maybe even the high 40s to low 50s) in levels before she faces off against Primal Dialga.

Thena don't click this spoiler tag. Major spoilers lie within...

But yeah, somehow Thena's ended up overleveled, It's kinda strange x_x

Maybe it has something to do with her exploring all the floors sometimes and only using the main characters to enter dungeons :p

Yeah, I'm just using Keeper and Athena and I do a lot of exploring within the dungeons. I also aim for high-level dungeons when I have to do filler dungeons and the like to maximize my rank points and minimize potential filler dungeon time. It's not like I'm purposefully trying to be overleveled or anything by level grinding or anything like that; it's just how I play. I find the NPC Pokémon to be more of a hindrance than a help when I do use them (since they tend to die very easily compared to me and Keeper and use up Reviver Seeds >.<), and exploring the dungeons feels natural within the context. Harder missions are also more interesting; I actually wish there were tougher ones; 1* is the hardest I've seen so far and I did a couple of those.

Maybe it would have been better for me to take on restrictions for this Playthrough after all. :p

Also, without spoiling anything, could anyone tell me approximately how far through the game I am? I'm going to be leaving on a vacation to visit my folks in teh States in July and I'm wondering if Ill need to bring this game with me and keeping writing the playthrough on my laptop while I'm gone. :p

Uhhh... maybe? It depends how much filler there is, really. I just ran over the plot in my head (though I haven't played the game in a while so I might have missed bits out :p) and there are still a handful of key plot points left.

Though if you don't finish up by the time you go on vacation, no one will blame you for taking a break from updates. :p

I don't actually mind doing the playthrough while I'm gone. I'll be at my parents house for about 3 weeks, and aside from the week my mom is taking off work and my sister will be in town, and a couple parties, I'll mostly be left to my own devices, and without a car, so, yeah. :U

Nah, you'll probably make it before you leave, at least for the first part of the story (since you haven't made any preparations for the second part).

I thought that almost everyone used only the main chars... the recruits kinda ruin the feeling of the story for me. What I think is unique to Athena and the main reason for her being overleveled is her exploring of every room on each floor earlier in the game. Seriously, every player just goes for the stairs, and is grateful if the stairs appear right next to them or in a nearby room. RPG OCD is something, but well... floors are often repetitive, and I quickly got sick of Gravelerocks. There's not much that can fuel OCD. Athena is kinda nuts though, and so she ended up overleveled.

None of the RPG players I know would ever go right for the stairs. :p Especially when there's a potential for good items like Max Elixirs or Gummies, and all it costs you is a bit of time and maybe some PP. It's all a matter of risk. vs. reward. If the risk is high (such as by being hit by a bad status condition, or affected by bad weather like Sandstorm, or being low on PP) it makes sense to beeline for the stairs, and in those cases I usually do, but if everything is going fine, and if I'm not going for a speed record or something, why should I just rush through the game as fast as possible?

Because unlike most RPGs there's just too much repetitiveness for it to be worth the time. I'm crazy about revealing every last corner of the map and picking up the weirdest stuff, but 4 floors with the same layout and more trash than I can carry? I'll pass on that.

Your funeral :).
