Podcast Auditions

RE: AUDITION for the Podcast! [Due Sat!]

oh, and for the audition should we introduce ourselves and then talk about the tcg, anime, and other pokemon stuff or should we introduce ourselves and tell you why we should me picked

lmk please

RE: AUDITION for the Podcast! [Due Sat!]

I'll audition. I want to get my entry in very soon, but I can't record until my older brother gets off of the blasted computer where the mic is set up.

Should I just mention what I can talk about? Or actually talk about the things?

RE: AUDITION for the Podcast! [Due Sat!]

I am a bit confused but what you guys are looking for then.. I will email my questions as to not take up room here

RE: AUDITION for the Podcast! [Due Sat!]

Myles: Just mention what you can talk about, bring up details if you want but it's not necessary to get in-depth for this. Mention how experienced you are in each of the fields briefly at least "I watched the show until the end of Kanto" etc.

Cynthia: Cover both.

Lion King:You were the one WPM mentioned already.

RE: AUDITION for the Podcast! [Due Sat!]

What exactly is a pod cast and what is it exactly for? Sorry for asking. :)

RE: AUDITION for the Podcast! [Due Sat!]

Larcan- Great work, but it is obvious you are reading. We wanted to have people speak freely off the top of their head about Pokemon. You could have spoken about your deck and given us just a simple brief description off the top of your head of how it worked. What we were looking for in this was a look into the personality and history of the person in Pokemon. You also said you knew about the games but didn't really say anything regarding that.

RE: AUDITION for the Podcast! [Due Sat!]

Yea I semi scripted my self to sound more professional, do you want me to put together another one with more chat?

RE: AUDITION for the Podcast! [Due Sat!]

Too young .. what the heck I'm like a week away from 13.
Oh well , Guess that was my chance and I didn't cut it.
Aw well , but thanks for the comment WPM! :D

RE: AUDITION for the Podcast! [Due Sat!]

Yes, while it was nice that you were very blunt and to the point - we are expecting people to treat this as speaking on one side of an interview. We wanted to get more personality out of this. If you insist on using an outline I'd heavily advise against putting anything more than one-word descriptions of what you want to cover so you don't forget. If you've listened to the first podcast, we're expecting people to be able to keep up with that sort of talking, and come up with it on their feet. In the real podcast you probably won't have time to come up with your own outline which is why relying on that too much is bad here.

And yes, send another one if you want. Remember, we want people to cover all the major aspects of Pokemon they can in these so mention your extent of knowledge in anything. If you literally know nothing about something like the manga you can just say "I've never read the manga" etc.

RE: AUDITION for the Podcast! [Due Sat!]

ok I will produce another one should be in tonight or tomorrow morning

RE: AUDITION for the Podcast! [Due Sat!]

Pory, are Audacity files ok? I realize that you'd like mp3s, but my computer refuses to change it to an mp3 file.

Let me know... :F

RE: AUDITION for the Podcast! [Due Sat!]

I'll make one right now , I'll try not to leave too many spaces.

RE: AUDITION for the Podcast! [Due Sat!]

I'll give this a shot tomorrow morning, if I can get my hands on a mic. Just a few questions...

How do I record myself and put it in an MP3 file? As newbish as this sounds, I've never bothered with anything like this before, so I wouldn't know.

What are you looking for in this category: "what sort of tasks you'd be willing to handle." What tasks are there to handle in the first place?

Also, just a few general questions that came up in my head...

How long do you want it to be?
Exactly how much do you want us to elaborate on ourselves? I wouldn't want to sound like an idiot rambling on about my hobbies...

RE: AUDITION for the Podcast! [Due Sat!]

Myles, can you get it to .wav .ogg or .wmp anything like that? If you can't change it at all send it to us and we'll see.

Stryker - Search your computer for "sound recorder". (if you have windows) you should be able to save it as a .wav which should be fine. As far as tasks go, just like if you're willing to be on the entire time or if you'd prefer a smaller segment, or if you probably won't be able to attend every podcast. You don't have to elaborate too much on yourself, just cover the basics like your age and what you do now. The major thing we want to know here is what you know about pokemon, and we want to see how your ability to speak on mic.

RE: AUDITION for the Podcast! [Due Sat!]

Alright; last thing, I swear.

Will I be rejected automatically if I'm only 14? I saw someone complaining about being rejected by age... are you guys only interested in those above my age level? Or would I pass.

RE: AUDITION for the Podcast! [Due Sat!]

We do it on a person-by-person basis so don't be afraid to at least send something in to try.

RE: AUDITION for the Podcast! [Due Sat!]

Sweet, getting it onto WAV format worked. I dunno, I might do it over, beacuse I don't sound too great for now.

Just expect an email from me ;]

RE: AUDITION for the Podcast! [Due Sat!]

Um, I guess, but I mean we already declined so don't expect anything different to go on this time. :/

It was brought to my attention the generic windows "sound recorder" only goes up to a minute. If you need to send us more than one of those files that's okay but don't go overboard.
