Congratulations on winning! It was a hard decision, as there were several creative entries. The other submissions will be posted tomorrow, and another contest will be coming soon! Keep your eye on the forum portal and have a great weekend! :)

@Zero.

Around 5:32, you say it hits for "big". I think saying: "It hits for a lot of damage" Or "hit hits for a high amount of damage" sounds a bit better.

When explaining MegaZone, you say "really big damage" again. Really big damage sounds a bit... odd? A high amount sounds better.

Preparing for the event sounds a bit obvious, and also when testing, testing against different versions of decks will give the player a less biased sample, and helps the player to how to play against different deck variants.

When talking about booking a room, it seems really obvious to book rooms ahead of time.

"Hands just want to move...." Nice job there! Lol.

It would be also really funny if a player fell over and went to sleep during a game.

You should also say what the EX's attacks do. Saying Shaymin EX hits for high damage doesn't mean much. Actually say how much it can do.

"One Pokémon, err, enrgy attacked to Mewtwo" I would redo that.

After around 20:20, the volume seems to go down. Then it goes up around 21:20.

"My name isn't always really Zero"... What?

Podcast wise, I dont know if it was just me, but it seemed a bit choppy. The "uh"'s and "ummm"'s that are scattered throughout the podcast would make it seem like it really wasn't scripted, and scripting it would probably be a good idea. Descriptions of certain cards/decks were a little unclear, especially if a new player was listening to the podcast.

Can't wait for the next one!

EDIT: Kee-ogre? A little more like Ki-ogre. :p

Nice job, Zero. Your podcast was pretty entertaining. There may have been a few problems but that's kind of to be expected for your first one. I'm sure you'll be nothing but improving from now on. :] I do however have one complaint... Y U MAKE ME LOSE THE GAME? ლ(ಠ益ಠლ)

Oh and congrats to EVO for winning the dragon symbol competition. The symbol you made looks great and very well done. :]

Always a work in progress. I kinda rushed at the end, and that is very obvious. Many deadlines came up, and it was only mid-low on my priority list. I would have done many more cuts and tons of more editting given more time. I tried to be as nondescript as possible with card descriptions while still giving the general idea, but having gone into detail on them, I probably should have said more about them... The next one is already half way done, and will be much higher quality. Good to know that this is worth continuing, though.

Also, please continue ripping into the podcast... I love all criticism and anything you all can say will only improve it for next time :D

I agree with most of this except for the parts about preparing and booking rooms in advance. Although it may seem obvious to veteran players and people who have attended plenty of events before, I think it was a really good idea pointing those two things out for the newer players (or players who are going to attend their 1st event) who might have not known this. Anyways, overall I thought the podcast was good. Good job, Zero!

I told you this before, but the intro is kind of long, and while card flicking does help keep the player more attentive, it is not beautiful =P. Good job otherwise.

Also congrats, EVO, for winning the contest!

._.
That opening music...

Besides that, exaggerate "BIG DAMAGE" more. I think that's really fun, it reminds me of Giant Enemy Crab for some reason.

There are some choppy points, sure, but I'm really liking this. I like the music in the background, that keeps it from sounding plain (although you have a cool voice, Zero, it reminds me of someone... I can't think of who). I say go for the more calming music like the ones towards the end, the Plasma theme and others of that kind are sort of distracting. This is awesome though, keep it up.

Mebbe someone could do this for VG? Meh, I doubt anyone has the time lol.

And congrats to EVO, I love how you kept the simplicity and feel of the other energy symbols. Props.

My knowledge of VG stops at "beat the elite 4". If you want to learn about strats to help battle gym leaders... I'm your dude. If you want anything more competitive for VG, don't bother me about that ;D I am TCG exclusively... we may or may not have a VG counterpart in the works... ;D

I have a few more surprises coming with the podcast... this was more a test run than anything ;D Expect more in the next few weeks...

LEMME GUESS TDL

It's gotta be TDL doing the VG podcast. I think. And surprises... Kronar gamercal guest star (where is hheeee) ;( . bacon? I give up. Anyways, looking forward to it.

He's 17 guys :p Don't be expecting sound effects, a theme song, perfect execution and such.

Very good! Looking forward to more.

I had a theme song. Also, do people want sound effects? I'll put "KABOOMS" whenever I say a big word if you want me to. I have the sound board to the Inspector Gadget movie... would you like me to use that? Have a ZIP sound whenever we talk about electric types and a squish whenever we talk about water types. ... seems like a good idea... for April fuels ;P

I do not use age as an excuse for quality. I want this to be as perfect as I can make it. As I said, the first one was a test run... I can only improve the casts as we go along.

IMO, I have 3 things to say.

*It looks like a hybrid of dark and fire.
*It looks like Batman's wings xD
*A big CONGRATS to you :)

Joking aside, I thought you did a good job in the brief amount of time that I listened to it. The only suggestions I have would be to have a variety of topics(as in things besides just the TCG), have co-hosts/whatever-you-want-to-call-them, and to make the podcast available on YouTube and/or Itunes. Keep it up, I hope to see good thing to come from this.

Just to let you know, if you save that MP3 file, you can load it onto itunes and have it on your ipod.

But yeah, I think having it on either youtube or Itunes would be a great idea.

Oh interesting. Even as a non-competitive player, I found your podcast to be an enjoyable listen ZERO.

I like it when you say "BIG DAMAGE" lol. Exaggerations in language are so much fun. :)

I really enjoyed the bit about going "beyond the game" and talking about how players act, including the card flipping which I've never heard of before. (I'll have to give it a try!) It's interesting to hear more about players outside of just playing decks.

I began to shuffle my hand around during my turn for two reasons: 1. I'm WAY too impulsive of a player and have lost numerous games b/c of a rash miss-play. :( 2. I picked up on the fact that a smart opponent can sometimes keep track of your hand based on what position you insert the cards you drew into your hand. I used to always place energy and supporters in the front of my hand, and somehow a rival of mine KNEW I was out of energy once simply b/c I was only inserting cards into the back of my hand...

Background music is a big plus. It made the whole thing seem more professional.

Good work and I'll be back to listen to number 2. :D
