The "Official" Poetry Thread!​
Welcome to PB's "Official" Poetry Thread! Here you can post your poetry, whether it's a ballad, free verse, or a simple rhyming poem, and other members can share their thoughts!
To start the thread off, here's a Free Verse poem I wrote:
Opportunity​

I see a golden opportunity.
I wait.
The opportunity stares back at me.

I see a great opportunity.
I wait.
The opportunity sees me too.

I see a good opportunity.
I wait.
The opportunity just looks at me.

I see an opportunity.
I reach for it.
It jumps away.
It is gone.
I waited too long.
 
It's about time we got one of these, poetry gets hated on to much I think. Opprotunity was good, I liked it, and I'm not a huge fan of free verse and you pulled it off great, well done.

These are just some of my early ones, not my best. I'll post some others later.

Time

As I listen to the noise
Of the playing girls and boys
I ponder the words of the wise
That have crossed through so much time
“Never give up on those you love,”
And “Always trust the one above”
As I let harmony begin
I know tomorrow pain comes again
Times is foe, time is friend
Yet it ceases to ever end


Passion

Let the flames begin
A tiny spark that makes me cringe
The waters no longer flow
The wind no longer blows
Things stop abrupt
As the flames corrupt
I give it all my soul and heart
Yet a memory remains
Of when things were not apart
It changes with just a tiny spark

My attempt at a rhyming poem:

Complainin'​
This chicken is much too chewy
This beef is much too tough
This Jell-O is much too gooey
The floor is much too rough

This dining hall is much too loud
And my computer’s slow
I cannot see a single cloud
And of course there’s never snow.

The TV isn’t working
I’m banned from video games
Homework I could be shirking
I can’t even get near flames.

I’m hungry, I’m bored
I’m tired, I’m sad
I’m loud, I roared
I’m thirsty, I’m mad.

I don't really like to yell,
I'd rather just complain,
I'm not saved by the bell,
I often get a migraine.

Complain, complain, complain
That's all I want to do
Come to my domain
And I'll complain to you.

I PM'd dmaster about it before I made the thread, and he told me it went in Gathering of the Miscellanea.

And I know it's not official. That's why I put "official" in quotation marks.

But this is for everybody, not just the creator's poetry. :F I didn't know the Writing Corner was for compilations. _-_
