For both text and image -based entries.
Do a card that adds something unseen to the game...! New card type?! Invent a mechanic?! Reinvent a mechanic?! What does this even mean!
But don't make it too powerful?!

January special score modifier:
* Introduce something new to the game: 0-10 points based on how original, cool and fresh it seems?!
Pokémon cards only. (No trainer/energy.)
BASIC JUDGING RULES:
Text Based:
Creativity: 0-5 points x3
Is your card a normal card you can find in any booster series or is it very unique?
Wording: 0-5 points x2
Did you get the wording on your card right?
Balance: 0-5 points x2
Is your card overpowered or is it balanced?
Context: 0-1 points x2
Does the card fit into the current metagame? Does it combo with current cards? Or do some current cards make it absolutely broken?
Format: BW or XY.
Completeness: 0-1 points x2
Did you remember to add weakness, resistance, retreat, and all the important information?
Tie-breaker: 0-1 points
A tie-breaker point I can use to determine a winner. The card I like most might get it.
Max BASIC score: 40 points (41 with tie-breaker)
Image-based:
Creativity/Originality: 0-20 points
This should be a given. With the proper tools, let your imagination run wild! This can involve new gameplay mechanics, blanks, etc.
Wording: 0-15 points
Proper wording is also key in designing any fake card. Try to ensure wording is correct for the era of blank you choose; from Classic and Neo to EX, DP, and BW, wording has changed a lot, so be careful! Spelling is also taken into consideration.
Fonts and Placement: 0-10 points
Correct fonts are imperative when creating realistic fakes. Placement isn't quite as important, so long as the fonts/symbols/etc. are in the correct general area.
Believability/Playability: 0-5 points
Because this division of the contest is so image-heavy, the believability and playability takes a backseat here. However, it's still worth a portion of the total points, so try to keep it in the realm of believable! Proper type (unless Delta-species), Pokédex information, and ballpark HP will be taken into consideration.
EDITS
Edits to cards are discouraged.
You are allowed to edit your cards slightly after they've been submitted, but then your final score will be reduced by 2 points. This includes editing your existing post (for any reason) or re-posting a submission in a later post.
If you want a chance at winning, then don't create and submit your card too hastily: be sure it's final when you post it.
