Very strong man... definitely a lot more edgy than many of the chapters you've written. Which is far from a bad thing! Who knew Thomas was capable of THAT?

You've already had my predictions, but even I can't say what's going to happen THIS time... kudos. Just as long as someone goes kaput, it's all good :p

Keep at it! :)

I'm gladly waiting for the next chapter!

BTW: It's been a while since we last talked. ;)

Chapter 46: Fight between Thomas, Kenny, Chris, and Brian (part 1)

’’Burn and smash all opposition, creating my path to my future! Flygon! Magmortar!’’

In front of my eyes Thomas’ Flygon and Magmortar appeared; ready to take all of us on at the same time. Even though Thomas’ Flygon had some troubles of its own not too long ago, it appeared to have fully recovered. Maybe it was because of this special dimension Thomas had made, or maybe all of Thomas’ pokémon recovered really fast…? But no matter the reason for its swift recovery, I still needed to face it in battle… Along with the Magmortar I had encountered before…!

’’Alright, you guys ready…?!’’ I asked Chris and Kenny a bit nervous.
’’Let’s… do… this…!’’ Kenny said troubled, raising one of his pokéballs.
’’No way… I’m giving up here… Besides… maybe Bob still owes me some… money… heh…’’ Chris struggled to speak the full sentence, but with a small smile he also raised a pokéball.
’’I admire your enthusiasm. Just don’t forget this is more than just a game. At least… for you…!’’
’’Sorry Thomas… But we will end this right now! Let’s go, Kenny, Chris!’’

Kenny, Chris and I all threw our pokéballs at the same time, and a Typhlosion, Crobat, and Milotic emerged on the battlefield at the same time.

’’Heh… This ought to be good… Magmortar! Use overheat on Crobat! Flygon! Earthquake on Typhlosion!’’
’’As if! Typhlosion… try to… avoid that… earthquake attack…! Jump up…!’’

Kenny ordered his Typhlosion to avoid the earthquake attack Thomas’ Flygon was about to use, but to everyone’s surprise Kenny’s Typhlosion couldn’t move a muscle… Of course, Thomas knew this all along, and I should have seen it coming…

’’Curses! Typhlosion, what’s… wrong…?!’’ Kenny shouted at the top of his lungs.
’’Oh please… You’re all helpless… Not only can you barely move, but it appears your pokémon aren’t even capable of moving… How…’’

As Thomas was talking to us, Kenny’s Typhlosion was knocked down by the massive earthquake attack that Thomas’ Flygon unleashed, and Chris’ Crobat took a heavy hit from Thomas’ Magmortar, as Chris forgot to give a command to his Crobat to at least avoid the attack…

’’… disappointing… Years we have trained together, made our pokémon stronger each time, all so that we would become the greatest trainers ever known… Even to surpass Black Rayquaza, James, and Max Shade IV… We would create a world of peace with out power… We would look for James and Max Shade IV who went missing… We would protect the weak, and unite all people under one banner… That was our dream… We made sure that we would become stronger and stronger with each passing day… as it would take us one step closer to our dream… What has become of your ambition now, hm…?!’’
’’Thomas… What are you trying to say…?’’
’’Isn’t it obvious…? We were pursuing the same dream… We had the same hopes and ideals… Now that I have a different dream, I appear to have grown a lot more than any of you have. The dream you’re chasing is hopeless, and in fact nothing more but an illusion… Shannon made me realise that, and she showed me what she was aiming for… And not only Shannon is aiming for that goal… master Jason, Dennis, and the rest of our team is aiming for that precise goal… No matter the sacrifices that need to be made…’’

For a moment Kenny, Chris and I looked at Thomas as he stared back at us. Thomas had a secure look in his eyes, and he radiated it from all over his body. He was totally convinced of what he was doing, and nothing would stop him in achieving his goal…

’’W-what is your goal, Thomas…? Why did you stop believing in our ideals, and our dreams…? We still believe in our dreams, and we still fight for them… Because if we won’t believe in them, who will…?’’
’’For the last time, I do not need to explain myself to you. My motives are my own alone, as well as my goal. As for your dream… Your dream is weak, and as you pronounced yourself, if you don’t believe in it, no one will. If everyone on this planet actually wanted peace, we would have stopped all the wars centuries ago. You believe in nothing more but an illusion… I don’t hate you for that… But all that you do is stand in my way. And anyone who gets in my way… must be erased from existence.’’
’’F-fine… If we can’t… talk you back to your senses… We’ll… have no choice… but to… beat you back to your senses…! Typhlosion… Return…!’’
’’What do you think you can do, Kenny…? You barely able to move… What do you think you can do in the state you are now…?’’
’’Thomas… Don’t… underestimate me… I wish… I didn’t need to use her against you… But you leave me… no choice…’’

Thomas, Chris, and I all looked at Kenny in awe. Kenny was known to have a single pokémon with him, which powers easily matched that of my own Dragonite, which are quite impressive even if I say so myself… He used her to fend off a whole minor attack from Team Infectus on a small village. He defeated the whole raiding party of five hundred and twelve men, all using six pokémon at the same time with just that one pokémon… The battle lasted for three days and four nights, but both Kenny and his pokémon stood their ground and drove the attackers off… Kenny actually always left her behind at the base, but apparently he took her with him on this mission… No wonder he passed the Team Galaxy entry tourney…!

’’So… You brought her, hm…? That could be quite troublesome… as I didn’t expect you would bring her with you…’’ Thomas said a little nervous.
’’It’s… still… not too late… to give up… Thomas…’’ Kenny stuttered as he grabbed the almost famous pokéball from his waist.
’’Heh… Give up…? The dimension must be affecting your brains… In a space where I control space, time, substance, and anything else you can imagine… I can’t possibly lose. And since I can’t lose… Why should I give up…?’’
’’So be it… Prepare… yourself and… your pokémon…! Go!’’

Kenny threw his pokéball, and it was as if everything went in slow motion. The ball slowly opened, and even though it was in slow motion, in less than a second a long slim pokémon appeared on the battlefield. It had long legs, which were covered by a white kind of dress, with long green arms and hair, with two red horn shaped body parts emerging from the pokémon’s chest and back. Small horns portraying from the pokémon’s head gave the slight impression of small ears, and it was as if the pokémon was dancing as it stood up to its full length.

’’Heh… So this is your legendary pokémon… I can’t wait to see how it will fare against my own legendary pokémon…!’’
’’This fight… is over…! Gardevoir! Allow Brian, Chris, me and all our pokémon to move freely in this dimension! We have no time to waste!’’
’’As if I’d let you…!’’

Kenny’s Gardevoir opened its eyes, and began to shine in a bright turquoise light as the pokémon tried to ease the air around us. For a moment it indeed felt as if I was able to move more freely, but then I felt the pressure again… Thomas was surely increasing the pressure around us to keep us as immobilized as we were…

’’Come on Gardevoir… I can feel you’re doing great…! Just keep at it a little more! I can breathe normal already, so please! Just a little more!’’

Kenny’s Gardevoir looked at Kenny and slightly nodded at its trainer. It then looked back at Thomas, and it began to increase its psychic influence. As its psychic power increased, it slowly lifted itself into the air to increase its influence on Thomas’ powers.

’’Gah… You’re getting annoying…! Take… this!’’

Thomas increased the pressure on all of us even more, but at the same time Kenny’s Gardevoir raised her power as well, resulting in the two forces to collide with each other. The result was a mixed shockwave of raw energy, and strangely enough the black pokéball in my pocket reacted to the energy wave…

’’B-Brian…?! What the heck is going on with you…?!’’ Kenny shouted in surprise at me.
’’I-I don’t know…?! It’s the black pokéball…! It’s… it’s…’’

But before I could finish my sentence, the black pokéball began to glow in a bright white light, and it transported me to a dimension I had never been to before… In front of me, I could see a small sort of white void open, and someone appeared in the white void in front of me… The person which appeared in front of me began to talk, but I could barely hear him…

’’.el.o…? W..’s …re…? I …’t kn.. w.o y.. a.e, b.. my .a.e .s C…m...’’

I swallowed for a second. The person in the white void was trying to tell me something, but I couldn’t hear him clearly… I decided to talk back and see what his response would be… Maybe he could hear me better…?

’’S-Sorry… I couldn’t hear you quite clearly… What did you say…?’’
’’Hello…? Who’s there…? I don’t know who you are, but my name is Calum...’’

Now THAT'S what I'm talking about! Having spoken to you anyhow before this went up, I had a definite suspicion that this was coming. But that doesn't make it any less epic.. ESPECIALLY since a Gardevoir was involved! :D

This only makes me wonder more about how you are going to depict my "legend" now... especially seeing as how I haven't even told it yet! :p

Only thing to watch is that you should have another space in between your speech when there's a new talker - like the exchange between Kenny and Thomas... you need more spaces to separate it out. Other than that, excellent as always, and I look forward to seeing my role in the upcoming events!

Well, here's the newest chapter of Pokémon Legacy, and on top of that, it's the longest so far! The epic struggle continues between Thomas, Kenny, Chris, and Brian, and on top of that, what is the meaning of the appearance of Calum...?! maybe you'll find it all out by reading this chapter?!

Enjoy!!

Chapter 47: Fight between Thomas, Kenny, Chris, and Brian (part 2)

I couldn’t believe my eyes… In front of me stood a whole new person, of whom I have never met before… At the same time I was in a place I had never been to before, and I can safely say I’ve been to a lot of places…

’’C-Calum you say…?’’
’’Who’s there…? I can barely see and hear you…?’’

I wanted to reply, but all of a sudden a Gardevoir appeared next to Calum, interrupting me from replying.

’’Calum, you should wake up…’’
’’Gardevoir… Who’s this? What’s going on…?’’

I wanted to interfere with the conversation, when all of a sudden a noticed a purple circle of energy surrounding the void Calum and his Gardevoir were standing in. At first I noticed nothing special about it, but then I could see the purple energy was closing the void Calum and his Gardevoir were standing in…! For a moment I thought it was Thomas’ energy, who was pulling me back into his dimension, but then I heard a sort of familiar voice behind me…

’’Brian… I don’t know how you got here, but its way too early for you to be here… You’re not ready to make the crossing I’m afraid…’’

I turned around, and just as I expected I faced the old man which I had met several times before in the Apocalypse Dimension.

’’Are you a stalker or something…? Every time I get dragged into a dimension or something like that, I end up meeting you…’’

I said a little sarcastic to the hooded old man, and I awaited his response quite tense… Even though I met him before, I still knew little or nothing of him. I had no idea who he exactly was, or what his motives are, nor do I know why he keeps appearing in front of me… Could it be he wanted something from me…? I decided to ask him some questions…

’’My my, I’ve had many names given to me in the past, but I guess this is the first time someone calls me a stalker…!’’
’’Well, sorry about that then, but I have a few questions for you actually…’’
’’I’m sorry to disappoint you, but you’ll have to ask your questions later… For now I’ll need to take you back to Thomas’ dimension, and you should forget what happened just now. Even though there’s a big chance you’ll come here again in the future, you’re not ready for it right now.’’
’’Ready for what? And how did you know I was in Thomas’ own dimension…? Why won’t you answer any of my questions…?!’’
’’Just because! I just don’t have the time, and I’m still recovering from my wounds after the fight I had with Giratina…’’

For a moment I calmed down. I totally forgot that this person had protected me from Giratina, and that he also gave me a second chance at life… Even though I still had many questions, I decided that he couldn’t be one of the bad guys. For if he was, why would he do so much trouble to protect me, and give me a second chance…?

’’I understand. Please take good care of yourself, and… I’m sorry. I just want to know more about you, since we’ve met various times now, but I still know nothing about you, but you know almost everything about me…’’
’’I understand what you’re implying, but you should have some patience. What matters is that you’ll survive until I can give you the answers you crave so dearly. But as for now… I think I can help you with one thing… Even though you never asked me, I can help you to beat Thomas.’’
’’Help me beat Thomas…? How…?’’
’’The situation you are in right now is quite hopeless. Thomas clearly has the upper hand in the battle, and eve-‘’
’’Upper hand…?! He’s outnumbered! I’m sure we can beat him, as long as we work together. We’ll have no choice but to show Thomas that our friendship is stronger than his insane powers. His powers are created by his anger, but I’ll show him that our friendship can even beat that ange-’’
’’Brian, if you believe that, you are the fool, and not Thomas. Brian, I admire your willpower of believing that Thomas is only blinded, but I’m afraid that’s not the reality.’’

I wanted to swallow for a moment, and give a response, but before I could reply, the old man continued his story.

’’Listen Brian, the Thomas you know is no more. He chose his path, and unfortunately it doesn’t match yours. You are determined to follow your dream, but so is Thomas. And since neither of you will budge, you will simply have to accept the fact that you will be enemies from here on. Now on to the fact that Thomas has the upper hand here… Even though he’s outnumbered, his pokémon are far stronger because they’re in their own dimension. Not only that, he also still has the option of apocalypse, which will obviously be far more powerful as well. Not only that, he also has the power to control pokémon and human movements in his own dimension as well. How can you say he doesn’t have the upper hand, hm?’’

I was baffled. I didn’t know what to say, but I did know that the old man was right…

’’Is there nothing I can do then…?’’
’’Not to return Thomas to your side, no. However, this battle is far from over, and you still have a chance to win. Ju.t ..u.. .n t.. p…er ..th.. .ou .n. .o.. p..é.o.!’’

The old man’s lips still moved, but I couldn’t hear what he said. I wanted to ask him to repeat what he said, but I noticed my vision was blurred by a bright white light, and I could feel I was slowly returning to Thomas’ dimension by the increasing pressure I felt on my body… In less than five seconds I stood back to where I had left before I met Calum and his Gardevoir, and I was once again stuck in the battle between Thomas, Kenny, Chris, and me…

’’Well well, look who’s back… I have no idea where you came from, but I’m sure to give you a warm welcome back party! Magmortar! Flamethrower!’’
’’Crobat, watch out! Avoid that attack! We managed to survive the overheat attack it launched at us earlier, so let’s stick to it!’’

I looked a little confused around me, as everything went so fast after I returned. I could barely keep up with what was happening, but I noticed Chris came close to me and he began to talk.

’’Heya, good to see you’re back…! Perfect timing actually, since we can use the water support of your Milotic!’’
’’W-Where’s… Kenny…?’’
’’Kenny and his Gardevoir are busy keeping Thomas’ Flygon occupied… We’re just lucky that Kenny’s Gardevoir managed to lift Thomas’ pressure effect on us…! The battle’s just getting started right now!’’
’’I’m glad to hear Kenny’s Gardevoir managed to free us from that pressure that was going on, but is he still alright?’’
’’No worries. He’s holding on his own, it’s just that Thomas’ Flygon really is one tough customer… But as long as we keep his Magmortar occupied, I’m sure Kenny will manage.’’
’’Great! So what’s my Milotic been up to while I was gone…?’’
’’It just avoided all attacks Thomas’ Magmortar launched at it, but apart from that it didn’t move a muscle. I tried to let it attack, but it wouldn’t listen to my commands.’’
’’Heh, I wonder if it’ll take on my commands… My Milotic’s quite the stubborn type…’’
’’Well, you better pull it together, as here Thomas’ Magmortar comes!’’

Chris was right. In front of his Crobat and my Milotic, Thomas’ Magmortar took a big leap towards our pokémon, and you could easily see it was really angry… Or maybe rather annoyed, but who knows…?

’’Magmortar! Use a psychic attack to knock down both of these worthless pokémon!’’
’’Crobat! Avoid and counter attack with a poison fang attack!’’
’’Milotic! Get out of the way, and launch a powerful hydro pump attack!’’

The battle was tense to watch, but our pokémon did precisely what we asked them to do. Chris’ Crobat darted out of Thomas’ Magmortar’s way, and made haste to bite it with some poison fangs. My Milotic moved like a flying snake, and crawled to a safer distance to avoid the psychic attack Thomas’ Magmortar was going to use. Shortly thereafter my Milotic unleashed a powerful hydro pump attack, just as I had ordered it.

’’Way to go guys!’’ Chris shouted excited, seeing everything went according to our plan.
’’Let’s take that Magmortar down! Nothing can stop us!’’ I added, myself being pretty excited as well.

In front of us Thomas’ Magmortar took the hydro pump attack head on, and as it was blasted back, Chris’ Crobat bit in Thomas’ Magmortar’s neck with poison coated fangs. At first everything seemed to go perfectly fine, but then Thomas began to speak.

’’You are too careless. I have you exactly where I want to have you right now. Magmortar, finish this.’’

We could barely believe our eyes, but Thomas’ Magmortar simply grabbed Chris’ Crobat from its neck, clamping it stuck between its fingers. As Chris Crobat tried to escape, we could see a bright ball of energy forming underneath it, and that could never mean anything good…

’’Magmortar… Hyper beam.’’

Chris and I looked shocked at those words, and before our eyes Thomas’ Magmortar launched the powerful attack from its hand as it held Chris’ Crobat tight.

’’Crobat! Hang in there!’’
’’You’re game’s almost over. Finish off that Milotic as well.’’

In less than a second Thomas’ Magmortar raised its other arm, and aimed it at my Milotic while Chris’ Crobat was still being blasted in its other hand. I tried to warn my Milotic, but I was too late. A powerful surge of energy went trough the air, and hit my Milotic head on. The psychic attack had caused a lot of damage on my Milotic, but I was relieved to see it still had the strength and willpower to stay conscious.

’’Well, it seems at least one pokémon can stand its ground a little…’’
’’What are you implying, Thomas?!’’ I shouted furious.
’’Well, see for yourself.’’

In front of us Thomas’ Magmortar finally let go of Chris’ Crobat, which had severe injuries all over its body due to the hyper beam attack from up close that had finally ended. Chris immediately retrieved the pokémon to its pokéball as Thomas’ Magmortar let go, but before he could send in a new pokémon we could all feel the increased pressure on our body…

’’W-What’s… going… on…?!’’

I shouted at Chris, but before he could answer Kenny’s Gardevoir was slammed into the ground right in front of us by Thomas’ Flygon. Even though I had trouble moving, I could still move my head up to watch at Thomas’ Flygon, and to my fear I noticed it was brimming with a deep black aura. I looked at Thomas, as I was almost completely pressed against the ground due to the pressure.

’’That’s right Brian. I’ll end this. Flygon… Apocalypse.’’

Chapter 48: Fight between Thomas, Kenny, Chris, and Brian (part 3)

’’G-Garde…voir…’’

Kenny could barely speak as he was also succumbing to the heavy pressure we all felt around out bodies... Chris and I were fully slammed to the floor, but Kenny managed to hold himself up somewhat, as he only fell to one knee.

’’Fools. You actually thought you could win?’’
’’S-Shut… up… Thomas…! We will… beat you… somehow…!’’
’’Sure, tell me that once I join you… In the afterlife! Flygon! Now!’’

We all then looked at Thomas’ Flygon, which hate could be felt thorough the whole dimension… For a moment I wondered where that hate came from, but then my thoughts shifted to creating a plan to get out of this rather… deadly situation…!

’’My dear Kenny, Chris, and Brian, please watch carefully.’’
’’Why i-is… that…?’’ Chris stuttered.
’’Because it’s the final thing you’ll ever see!’’

Thomas’ Flygon wrapped its wings around its body, and it opened them just as quick again, as it roared into the never ending galaxy above us. Its black aura then consumed it, and as the black aura disappeared, I couldn’t believe my eyes…!

’’Ha ha ha! It seems your Flygon destroyed itself! Man, do you look like a fool now, Thomas! I expected to see one of the most terrible pokémon ever, but instead it just killed itself! You don’t think you can let your Magmortar the same, do you?’’ Chris was mocking Thomas with a big grin on his face, while he was still stuck against the floor.
’’Go ahead and mock me all you want. It is I who will laugh the last.’’
’’Laugh all you want, but your Flygon’s gone!’’
’’Chris, please. I told you to look carefully, didn’t I? Then please do so… I’m asking it nicely.’’
’’You’re just insane… There’s nothing here to se-’’

Before Chris could finish his sentence, two bright red eyes opened in front of him, brimming with hate.

’’W-What the…?!’’ Chris was scared all of a sudden, since he didn’t know what was going on.
’’Surprised…? Some pokémon can use apocalypse to just change their appearance and to gain additional strength… However, others also gain a complete new ability, or even more than just one. And since we’re in my own dimension… My Flygon’s apocalypse is at its strongest. The ability my Flygon gained while using its apocalypse at its full potential is invisibility. Or at least, a form of cloaking.’’

I did my best to focus, but I could see nothing more than those two red eyes staring at Chris… That is, until a small surge of energy went across Thomas’ Flygon’s body. In a faint glimpse I could see the form it had taken, and I was glad the image was gone as quick as it had come.

’’C-Cloaking…?’’ Chris stuttered.
’’That’s right. Now please… You annoy me.’’
’’Heh… You annoy me as well… But what can you do about it, I wonder?’’
’’Oh, but that’s simple.’’
’’Oh? Why’s that?’’
’’Heh… Because you annoy me… Your life will end now. Flygon, take his life.’’
’’W-Wha-’’

Chris tried to scream, or at least talk some reason into Thomas, but it was too late…! Before my eyes Chris’ torso was ripped in two by a claw, and his head was crushed under a large tail. I felt sick, and wanted to vomit, but I couldn’t move a muscle. All of Chris’ remains were eventually blasted into oblivion, as Thomas’ Flygon used a hyper beam attack before it disappeared once more… After that, Thomas simply took a few steps forward, and he retreated his Magmortar while doing so.

’’So… Who’s next…?’’

Both Kenny and I looked shocked… We could barely comprehend what had just happened… Chris was gone… He was slaughtered and crushed like a mere insect, by one of our own best friends… Poor Chris…

’’Thomas… I can’t stand for this anymore…! I wanted to believe that you could still be brought to reason… That you still had something good inside of you…But after seeing what you’ve done… I will never forgive you!’’

Enraged, I didn’t know what happened. All of a sudden I didn’t feel Thomas’ pressure anymore, and I stood back up to confront Thomas.

’’My, my… What a big talk for someone who just managed to get back to their feet?’’
’’I wanted to spare you, but you left me no choice…!’’
’’Excuse me? Spare… me? You were going to spare me…? You fool. You should ask me to spare you, you idiot! That you managed to get back to your feet doesn’t change a thing!’’
’’I don’t care for what you say any longer. You made me realise that you simply must be disarmed, or in the worst case, even killed. I cannot allow you to take any more lives.’’
’’Oh really? If you really want to stop me to take the lives of the ones who get in my way… How come you still let me finish of Kenny, hm?’’

I was scared right away. I immediately turned my head to check on Kenny, and to my fear Thomas’ Flygon already made its way to him… Kenny was still paralysed under the pressure, as was his Gardevoir, who was exhausted by the long battle… I thought of what to do, but then all of a sudden my Milotic darted to the scene, and it slammed into Thomas’ Flygon to prevent it from attacking Kenny.

’’Way to go Milotic! Attack Thomas’ Flygon with all your strength you got left! Together, we must win!’’
’’Your annoying pokémon doesn’t know when to give up, does it…? Not that it matters. Behold…!’’

Thomas raised both of his hands, and as if he was using some psychic power, he returned Kenny’s Gardevoir to its ball. After that, he lifted up Kenny, and I could see him floating trough the sky towards me.

’’You forgot one thing Brian…’’

Thomas then slowly closed both of his hands, and Kenny screamed it out in pain…!

’’T-Thomas…?! W-What are you…?!’’
’’B-Brian… Aaaaargh… H-Help….Me…!!!’’
’’Kenny! Hold on!!!’’
’’Heh, too late Brian… He’s gone…!’’

I ran towards Kenny, and tried to grab his hand, but right before my eyes Kenny exploded in a rain of blood and flesh…

’’N-No… No… NO… NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!’’
’’My, my… it seems you still can’t do a thing against me, now can you…?’’
’’Thomas…! I will never forgive you for what you’ve done! How could you…?! We were your friends…! After all we’ve been trough…!’’
’’It’s nothing special Brian. It’s just as I told you. In order for me to continue my future I will need to erase my past… So now all that remains for me to do… is to erase you…!’’
’’Yeah, you’d wish! Milotic, return!’’

I retrieved my Milotic, and turned around to face Thomas head on.

’’What’s this…? You’re giving up? You give me a free kill?’’
’’No… Not after all you’ve done…! Thomas, you murdered Chris and Kenny cold blooded…! How can you stay so calm under it all…?! Are you mad…?!’’
’’You would never understand what I wish to obtain… Nor will you ever understand my methods… Any sacrifices that must be made… Will be made. No matter what.’’
’’I don’t understand how you became so selfish Thomas… You were everything except that they way I knew you… But it doesn’t matter anymore… I must end this. Not only for Chris and Kenny’s sake… But also for the rest of the world!’’
’’So, you think you can play with the big guys now, heh? Bring it on! But watch yourself…!’’
’’You should worry more about yourself! Let’s do this! Dragonite!’’

With full determination I hurled Dragonite’s pokéball into the fray. Within a few seconds my most powerful pokémon emerged ready to fight at its full potential.

’’Dragonite, please listen. This is no ordinary fight. We can’t afford to lose this battle…! We must win at all costs, is that clear?’’

My Dragonite nodded slightly, and indicated that it knew what I meant.

’’Good. Then, let’s give it our all!’’
’’Finally you’re getting serious! Now, let’s see who’s truly the stronger one! Flygon!’’

For a moment the cloaking Thomas’ Flygon had was lifted, and I could clearly see the purple terror which my Dragonite and I had to face… Thomas’ Flygon was covered in spikes all over its body, and its wings emitted small black energy waves with each flap. The two sort of antenna’s that emerged from its head didn’t end normally, but instead turned into a never ending smoke the further you looked… Its claws looked as sharpened diamonds, in its two red eyes full of hate made the Flygon a true spawn of terror…

’’Dragonite! Watch out! Try to avoid those attacks at all cost!’’

Thomas’ Flygon flew at incredible speed, and my eyes could barely match its movement, even though it wasn’t cloaked anymore… Luckily for me, my Dragonite was swift enough and managed to avoid the attack Thomas’ Flygon launched…! Or so, I thought…

’’Heh, your Dragonite’s fast… But you shouldn’t let your guard go down so easily…!’’

At first I had no idea what Thomas meant, but then I realised that I totally forgot one of Flygon’s most powerful weapons… It’s tail…!

’’No way! Dragonite! Watch out!’’

But just like me, my Dragonite noticed it too late, and Thomas’ Flygon’s spiky tail constricted my Dragonite tight.

’’Brian, Brian, Brian… My poor Brian… It really is a shame it had to end like this, but so be it… You will lose this fight, no matter how hard you try. And since your Dragonite is the biggest threat you possess, I’ll erase that one first. Flygon, erase it.’’

Thomas’ Flygon opened its mouth, which was full of razor sharp teeth, and a small ball of energy began forming inside of it… As the ball grew bigger and bigger, Thomas’ Flygon moved its tail so that my Dragonite was stuck directly in front of it.

’’Say your prayers. Flygon, hyper beam!’’

Well, I guess it figures that two had to fall like that. But... Gardevoir... :(

Oh well, I suppose that's just the way it had to be. The descriptions there was definitely true to form for your fic; they aren't out of place compared to everything else you've written :p. It IS a shame that two had to die, but... at the same time, it makes the rest of the story somewhat more interesting! After all, what is Brian going to do NOW if he makes it out of here? He's lost all of his friends... it'll be hard now to go back and do what he set out to do. At least IMO.

Keep it up! :)

Thomas and Brian are ready to duke it out, but who actually has the upper hand...?! The battle's favor clashes back and forth like a raging sea, but who will call the flow to an end...?!!

Enjoy!!

Chapter 49: Thomas vs Brian: Ragnarok…?!!

’’Dragonite! Break free! We cannot lose!’’
’’Too late Brian!’’
’’No way!’’

Thomas’ Flygon launched its hyper beam attack, but my Dragonite managed to break away just in time, as a large and powerful beam shot trough the sky where my Dragonite was not too long ago…!

’’Don’t… Don’t underestimate me… Thomas…!’’
’’Heh… Don’t overestimate yourself… Brian…!’’
’’Just watch me! For what you did to Chris and Kenny… I can and will never forgive you…! You’re going down Thomas, one way or the other!’’
’’Make me…!’’
’’Dragonite! Outrage!’’

At that moment, it was as if my Dragonite’s and my heart beat as one, and I felt a total synchronisation between us. A mighty white aura surrounded my Dragonite, and with a loud roar my Dragonite prepared itself for battle. A powerful shockwave shot trough the air, but Thomas and his Flygon seemed unimpressed.

’’Well, it seems you’re actually serious about this… Bringing out the big guns like that…’’
’’Just prepare yourself…!’’
’’Prepare myself…? I was born ready to defeat you…!’’
’’Then show me! Show me if your sacrifices were truly worthy of what you have gained! Dragonite!’’

My Dragonite roared once more, and in the blink of an eye it raced trough the sky to face Thomas’ Flygon. Thomas’ Flygon embraced itself, ready to counter attack, but my Dragonite quickly darted upwards, and it came crashing down from behind Thomas’ Flygon.

’’I-Impossible…! Such speed…!’’
’’Don’t give it a chance to react! Hit it with all you’ve got Dragonite!’’
’’Flygon!’’

Thomas’ Flygon couldn’t keep up with my Dragonite, and my Dragonite made a full impact on the back of Thomas’ Flygon…! As a result, it was smacked to the floor, as my Dragonite landed on top of it. Not that long thereafter my Dragonite opened its mouth, and hurled its head backwards as it began collecting energy…

’’Way to go Dragonite! Finish this quickly!’’
’’Flygon! Break free! We need to win this once and for all!’’
’’Too late!’’

My Dragonite finished gathering energy, and before Thomas’ Flygon could react, the fully charged hyper beam made its impact. A large explosion was the result, and both Thomas and I looked tense at the scene it all took place… If only the smoke would clear up faster…!

’’Heh, it seems you can actually deal a punch or two before being erased…!’’
’’What’s that supposed to mean…? I’m wiping the floor with you, and all you can say is that…?’’
’’Excuse me…? You wiping the floor with me…? Don’t you think it’s a little too soon to say that…? Especially since I’m just warming up and you’ve already brought out the big guns you have at your disposal…?’’
’’W-Warming up…? What are you talking about…? My Dragonite just delivered a fatal blow to your Flygon…! Are you just mad, or simply bluffing…?!’’
’’Call it whatever you like, but the reality is different…! Flygon! Show them who the superior between us is!’’

I was dazzled. Was Thomas bluffing, or…? Then, for a moment my hearth froze… All this time I had felt my Dragonite’s heartbeat, but just now it stopped… Did I just lose the synch, or was my Dragonite…?!

’’Dragonite! Are you alright…?!’’
’’Heh, see for yourself how you’re Dragonite’s doing, Brian…’’

With a single gesture of his hand all the smoke was cleared, and I didn’t believe my eyes... In front of me my Dragonite was being strangled by Thomas’ Flygon… Its tail wrapped around my Dragonite’s body, and with its hands it was choking my Dragonite’s neck… I had to act fast…!

’’Dragonite! Hold on! Try to break free using the energy of your outrage…!’’
’’It’s already too late Brian… Your Dragonite’s finished…’’
’’No way we’re-’’

Before I could finish my sentence Thomas was right in front of me, drawing a large sword from his sleeve…

’’And so are you.’’

With those words Thomas stabbed me in the hearth, but for me, everything went in slow-motion. Even though Thomas hadn’t actually cut me, I watched as he moved the sword to my chest, ready to impale my hearth. I looked at my Dragonite, who was struggling for its life. I looked back at Thomas, and I could see the joy in his eyes. However, at the same time I saw a small sparkle of sadness, but I was not sure why…

’’So, is this how it is going to end…?’’

A familiar voice from behind me spoke, and to my surprise the time and space around me had completely fallen still. I turned around to see who it was that spoke to me, and just as I suspected, the bearded and hooded man stood in front of me.

’’Not if I can help it… But I’m helpless… Me and my Dragonite gave it our all, but Thomas still got the upper hand…’’
’’You tell me you’ve given it your all, but you haven’t. You still have strength left.’’
’’What do you mean…? My Dragonite’s in a situation it can’t get out of its own, and I’m about to get erased by Thomas. What’s there left to do…?’’
’’I told you to have faith in your friends and pokémon the last time I met you, but I don’t think you’ve fully gotten that message.’’
’’But I do. I have full faith in my Dragonite, and I’m fighting for my friends… Or at least the ones I got left…’’
’’When you were shocked to see your friends die, you were in total synch with your Dragonite. But as the battle moved on, you lost that feeling, and you began to focus yourself more to one other thing you desired…’’
’’And what’s that…?’’
’’Avenging your friends, and killing Thomas. From that moment on your synch weakened, and your only hope of defeating Thomas was gone…’’
’’What are you implying…?’’
’’Too bad you don’t have a chair… As I’m going to explain a whole lot to you right now… Try to remember everything very carefully, as you’ll need it. At least, if you want to stay alive.’’
’’I’ll do my best, but I can’t promise you anything.’’
’’Very well. At first I’ll explain you how apocalypse is achieved.’’
’’Y-you know how to… achieve… apocalypse…? How do you…?’’
’’There’s no time to explain that right now. So just listen carefully. Apocalypse is achieved when both the trainer and the pokémon are in perfect synch with each other. Not only that, but the trainer and the pokémon must call on all of their hatred to finish the unison. Apocalypse them manifests as a tool to fulfil their wrath. In other words, apocalypse is nothing more than the manifestation of the trainer and its pokémon’s anger and hate.’’

For a moment I took a deep breath, and I tried to understand everything I had just heard.

’’Are you saying I should try to achieve apocalypse on my own to defeat Thomas…?’’
’’Not at all. To achieve apocalypse one other requirement needs to be met, but that’s a story for another time. No, what I’m about to tell you is something that could mean the difference between victory or defeat in your battle with Thomas.’’
’’You got my full attention.’’
’’Without adding too much chitchat to this explanation, it’s normal that everything in existence has its opposite. Fire has water, earth has air, boys have girls, and even good has evil.’’
’’Yes, so…?’’
’’I’m trying to tell you apocalypse also has its opposite. In other words, there’s a move that’s the exact opposite of apocalypse, and it can be used to defeat Thomas.’’

For a moment I swallowed and looked at the hooded man in front of me. Was he serious…?

’’Couldn’t you tell me this a little sooner…?’’
’’If you weren’t so consumed with hate a little earlier, you would have unlocked the move by yourself.’’
’’Why’s that?’’
’’The move I’m telling you about is called ragnarok. But for a trainer and its pokémon to master it… they must be pure of heart and soul. Ragnarok can only be used for the cause of good, and never for the cause of evil intend, even if it’s to punish an evil person.’’
’’You’re saying… This ragnarok… I can master and use it…?’’
’’You already have it, Brian… You just need to awaken it… Let go of your hatred and negative emotions for now… I promise you, if you let go of them now, it will repay you in the end. And that’s sooner than you might think…!’’
’’I… I will… Thank you. But how do I activate this ragnarok thing…?’’
’’Be in synch with your pokémon, and think of all the people who are going to be hurt if you fail to defeat Thomas. And remember, I said defeat, not kill…! Fight with the intention to protect, not to avenge or to kill. Be pure of heart, mind, body, and soul… And ragnarok will become yours…’’

The hooded man slowly disappeared, and I wanted to ask him a few more questions, but he was already gone… I decided to shout, in the hope of still reaching him…

’’What am I supposed to do then…?! I don’t have the time to think a lot… And my situation is quite tight…!’’
’’Have faith in your pokémon… And as you are returned to your own dimension, focus on everything I just said. Everything will turn out just great… Don’t take my word for it… Just take your pokémon’s word for it.’’
’’What do you mean…?!’’
’’You know what I mean, just focus yourself…! Believe in yourself… and of course in your pokémon!’’

With those words the hooded man once more left me with tons of questions, and I felt that I was slowly returning to the real world… Or at least Thomas’ dimension… I tried to give myself a little pep talk before I returned, and I began to focus myself on the feeling I had at the beginning of the battle…

’’Okay… It’s now or never… I died by Thomas’ hands before, but I can’t let that happen again… Dragonite… please… be with me…!’’

The time began to flow again, and Thomas’ knife still came closer and closer to my chest.

’’Farewell Brian. My you rest in-’’

All of a sudden Thomas seemed surprised, and it first I wasn’t sure why… Until I looked down, and saw that my whole body was brimming with a bright white aura… It almost blinded us both, and my vision was distracted by Thomas’ Flygon why was flung across the field. The blade Thomas wielded was broken in two as it was pressed against the aura, and I was safe once more…! I slowly looked behind Thomas, and I saw my Dragonite hovering in the air, also shining in a bright white light… Once more I felt our hearts beat at the same time as if we were one…

’’I-Impossible… T-That’s… Ragnarok…!’’

Thomas mumbled, and he slowly turned around to watch my Dragonite. I also watched my Dragonite, and as the white aura consumed it, my Dragonite slowly began to transform…!

’’Alright Thomas… Let’s finish this once and for all…!’’

You know... it really figures that something like this would come up, but at the same time it's still completely unforeseen. Truly great job on that one mate.

However... doesn't it seem almost like this is going towards a gigantic climax and then.. nothing? Almost seems like a grand finale before the true due date of it!

Also, there's an inconsistency. Thomas originally "pulled out a large sword", but when Brian came back, it was nothing more than a knife. I also thing you coulda done SLIGHTLY better with the punctuation of the last bit - to me it would read better with a couple of points changed. I'll msn you them if you really want, but this is more nit-picking than actually disliking the thing :p

Kinda makes you wonder why Shannon would hate so much as to be able to use the Apocalypse... oh well.

Awesome as always man!

Welcome all to the final installment of this part of the story! It's also over twice the size of any other chapter, so be sure to have enough time to read it!

The story is FAR from over, and it's actually only beginning, but I've decided the split the story in ''books''. This way new readers will be able to ''jump in'' more easily, and old readers can continue reading as normal, only in a new thread. Have no fears though, as with every new ''book'' Pokémon Legacy will open, the prelude will always contain a sort of summary of the main points which are important to know before reading on...!

So Chapter 50 closes ''book 1''. Chapter 50 shows the end of the long waged battle between Brian and Thomas, but who will be the absolute victor...?! What tricks does Thomas have up his sleeves, or has he shot all of his ammo already...? And what about Brian's tricks and plans...?! Be sure to read this chapter carefully, and watch how the story unfolds...!

Enjoy, and be sure to check out the new thread featuring ''book 2'' when it is posted!!

Chapter 50: Thomas vs Brian: Final Showdown!

In front of Thomas and me my Dragonite finished its transformation, and the sight was indescribable. My Dragonite’s figure was a lot slimmer and taller, and bright white feathers covered its whole body, bar for its stomach. Its antenna’s were a lot longer, and ended in some sort of scales with an ancient mark on them. Its normally short wings now where almost twice the length of its body, and were fully covered in bright white feathers; at least on the outside. From the inside its wings were still a brilliant emerald colour, which now extended past its legs. And finally, its tail also ended in three smaller tails, each with its own scale and ancient mark on it.

’’S-So this is… Ragnarok…’’

Thomas mumbled, and he once more turned around towards me. At first I thought he was going to face me, but instead he focussed on something else…

’’Flygon! The real show begins right now!’’
’’Don’t think I’ll give you a chance to rea-’’

But before I could finish my sentence Thomas’ Flygon already soared over my head, and with a single jump Thomas landed on its back.

’’Your odds of winning have only slightly changed, Brian! Don’t be a fool and get over confident of yourself!’’
’’We’ll see about that, Thomas. At first I was blinded by revenge. But now I see I need to stop you to protect all friends that I have left… For all people who are still living… And for all children who are yet to be born! And I wish there was another way to do it… But you leave me no choice…!’’

Thomas jumped off his Flygon, and confronted me once more from a distance.

’’Mighty words from someone like you. Then show me what you’re made off…!’’
’’Dragonite! Give it your all!’’
’’Flygon! We cannot lose!’’

From behind me my Dragonite razed trough the sky towards Thomas’ Flygon, who in return also prepared itself for attacking. As soon as Thomas’ Flygon began to charge and the two pokémon made contact, a large energy surge was flung trough the dimension, colouring the dimension in both a bright white, and pitch black darkness.

’’Now we’re talking! Flygon, show them what a true battle means!’’
’’Dragonite! Make sure to counter every single attack you get thrown at you!’’

As soon as the energy surge had vanished by a combination of blows on both sides, both Thomas and I could see both of our pokémon fiercely battling each other. Each time Thomas’ Flygon latched out, my Dragonite was sure to either avoid the attack or grab Thomas’ Flygon and to counter attack. When one side was bitten, the other dealt a punch… It was a never ending struggle between the two pokémon, and neither side showed any sign of fatigue after any blow it dealt or took.

’’Dragonite! We have to get the upper hand in this fight quick! We’re in this together!’’

My Dragonite looked over its shoulder at me, and nodded. It prepared a powerful punch, and after the punch landed, both pokémon were separated again. Now it was time for my plan…

’’Alright, we’re in this together, so let’s fight together!’’

I focussed some of the energy the ragnarok provided me with, and so did my Dragonite. Our aura’s linked as one, and me and my Dragonite felt more as one then ever.

’’Alright… Now let’s end this…!’’

My Dragonite darted forwards, and I moved my right arm in a punching position. As I did that, so did my Dragonite and our combined energy tremendously increased my Dragonite’s strength. Thomas observed this and tried to warn his Flygon…

’’Flygon! Watch out! Don’t let that attack hit you!’’
’’Too late Thomas! Dragonite, now is the time!’’

Thomas’ Flygon was fast however. Even faster than that I imagined… I didn’t want to waste the whole attack, and so I came up with a nice alternative.

’’Dragonite, follow my movements! We can still hit it!’’

My Dragonite cancelled the punch, and rotated so that it still faced Thomas’ Flygon head on. With a single swing of my arm I released all energy stored in it, and so did my Dragonite. As a result a powerful energy wave was emitted, and Thomas’ Flygon couldn’t dodge that…! It tried to, but in vain. As the energy wave made impact, we were all blinded by a bright white light, and as the light faded we could see Thomas’ Flygon standing on the floor, heavily injured from that last attack.

’’So… Ready to give up just yet, Thomas?’’
’’Give up…? Are you stupid…? What you just did is not only unique to ragnarok, you fool. My Flygon and I are also capable of linking our energy… And if that’s how you wish to play it, then fine… Flygon!’’

Thomas’ Flygon roared in anger, and a pitch black aura began to emit from both Thomas and his Flygon. I swallowed for a moment, and in less than three seconds Thomas and his Flygon where also linked together.

’’I wonder how good you are right now… Seeing I’ve already trained with apocalypse… I doubt you’ve done the same with ragnarok, have you…?’’

For a moment, I was getting nervous. Thomas was right. I had only just awakened ragnarok, and I still wasn’t too sure how to fully handle it… Thomas on the other hand had some experience with apocalypse now, so he should be in the advantage just now… But then I looked at my Dragonite. It felt my doubt and nervousness, but simply by making eye contact it calmed me down. I realised that by having faith and trust in myself and my Dragonite I could still win this fight… And so we would!

’’You can say whatever you want Thomas, but I have faith in my Dragonite. And we will fight to the very end… To the end of existence if we have to! So bring it on!’’
’’Fine… Then let us begin!’’

Once more my Dragonite and Thomas’ Flygon soared trough the sky, ready to face each other. My Dragonite prepared a punch, and Thomas’ Flygon readied its tail and opened its mouth to bite. My Dragonite’s punch hit the face of Thomas’ Flygon clear, preventing it from biting, but in return the tail of Thomas’ Flygon lashed out and hit my Dragonite on its hip… It was almost as if our pokémon were evenly matched…! The pokémon darted away from each other, only to clash once more after only a few seconds… My Dragonite fastened its pace, and appeared right behind Thomas’ Flygon, only to be strangled by Thomas’ Flygon’s tail. In return my Dragonite lashed out with its own tail, and it slammed into Thomas’ Flygon’s stomach, forcing it to let go. Not too long thereafter the battle was fought on a distance, with both sides charging and firing hyper beams at each other. Amidst the chaos our pokémon where still fighting fiercely and giving it their all…

’’Hold on Dragonite! I’m sure we’re winning!’’
’’Only a fool believes that! Flygon and I can keep this on for ages… centuries if we must…!’’
’’So can my Dragonite and I! Let’s do this Dragonite! For everyone else’s sake!’’

I had no idea if Thomas was bluffing or not, but I was… My Dragonite and I were giving it our all, and not without effect, but we were slowly beginning to lose our energy… It was not just me who noticed it, but so did my Dragonite…

’’If you weren’t bluffing just now, then why is your facial expression so worried? Flygon! They’re at their limit! Let’s get them!’’

Before I could react properly, Thomas’ Flygon charged and fired on final hyper beam attack, and then vanished. My Dragonite shot its own hyper beam attack to counter the one Thomas’ Flygon fired, but as soon as the two energies cancelled each other out, Thomas’ Flygon was directly behind its own hyper beam attack…!

’’Dragonite! Watch out!’’

But my warning came too late. Thomas’ Flygon lashed out with both its tail and hands, and as its tail constricted my Dragonite’s body, its hand began chocking my Dragonite’s throat while it began to charge up another hyper beam attack... As Thomas’ Flygon’s black aura merged with my Dragonite’s white aura on contact, we were all blinded for a second. Luckily for me, my Dragonite took its chance, and as Thomas’ Flygon was distracted it managed to put more pressure on its own aura, breaking free from Thomas’ Flygon’s grasp.

’’Way to go Dragonite! Now just avoid that hyper beam attack!’’
’’Too late! Fire Flygon!’’

My Dragonite made a evasion manoeuvre, but was still caught halfway in the energy beam. My Dragonite fell to the floor, and our energy link was broken…

’’Dragonite! Get up! You can do it, I know you can! I believe in yo-‘’
’’Shut up! Flygon! Finish this!’’

Thomas’ Flygon darted down, and with a crashing sound it slammed its tail into my Dragonite’s stomach as it was lying helpless on the floor. My Dragonite roared in pain, and coughed up some blood after the impact. It didn’t end there, as not long thereafter Thomas’ Flygon landed with both of its feet on top of my Dragonite, kicking it as it once more took airborne. In a grand loop it once more darted down to my helpless Dragonite, and this time a hyper beam attack from up close made a full impact on my Dragonite… I could barely watch it, but I was frozen with anger, sadness, and grief for what was happening in front of my eyes…

’’D-Dragonite…’’

I wanted to talk to my Dragonite, but my lips wouldn’t budge… I tried to move, but my body was frozen… But as I looked in front of me I could see my Dragonite struggling to get back to its feet… and it smiled at me…!

’’Is that thing still breathing…? Flygon finish it off, once and for all!’’

I didn’t believe my eyes… My Dragonite… after suffering all those brutal attacks… was smiling at me…? My trance was quickly broken as Thomas’ Flygon quickly descended and began to punch, kick, and slash my Dragonite. After doing so much trouble to get back to its feet, my Dragonite was slammed into the ground once more with ease.

’’N-No… no… no…!’’
’’What’s that Brian…? Are you denying your defeat…?’’
’’No… no… no… noooooooooo!!! I will not allow it!’’

I wasn’t exactly sure what happened, but from inside of me an enormous source of energy awakened, and I immediately restored the energy link with my Dragonite. As soon as the link was restored, my Dragonite was healed of all injuries, and it pushed away Thomas’ Flygon to get back up to its feet.

’’Thomas! This ends now! Prepare yourself…!’’
’’So, we’re doing one big final shot, huh? Very well! I’ll show you what true power means!’’

Thomas’ Flygon went airborne once more, and so did my Dragonite. Now, Thomas and I stood directly facing each other, and so did our pokémon. For a brief moment I felt peace between me and him, and we both looked at each other as friends, not as enemies… For a moment we even smiled at each other, and we both knew what was coming.

’’It’s okay Brian. I understand.’’

Surprised by what Thomas said, I didn’t know how to react…

’’W-What…? Thomas…? What are you trying to sa-‘’
’’It’s okay Brian. You’ll understand as soon as this is over. Now let’s do this.’’
’’T-Thomas… You’re… confusing… me…?’’

All of a sudden Thomas became aggressive again, and I had no time to think any further, as now was the time…! The time to settle this once and for all…!

’’Then get confused in another lifetime! Here I come…! Graaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!!!’’
’’After all this, you’ll explain yourself to me! As true friends! Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!!!’’

Both Thomas and I raced towards each other, and so did our pokémon. Our energies stronger than ever, we knew it was now or never. As soon as Thomas and I clashed, so did our pokémon, and a fierce battle ensured. As I hit Thomas, so did my Dragonite hit Thomas’ Flygon, and vice-versa. Our actions weren’t completely linked to our pokémon though, since neither I or Thomas bit each other, but our pokémon did. After a while our pokémon and us got separated, but the fight continued on both sides.

’’You cannot win Brian… When will you realise that…?!’’

Thomas stomped me in my stomach, but I quickly replied with a kick against his hip.

’’I will win, no matter what! How many times do I have to tell you that…?!’’
’’Then tell me when I’ll meet you in the afterlife!’’

Thomas punched me on my chest, cutting me off from air for a while and leaving me defenceless. He then quickly kicked me against my head, and I fell to the floor. He walked towards me, and bow over me as I lay coughing on the floor.

’’This is meaningless Brian. Give up now, and I might spare you.’’

I looked at Thomas’ face, and strangely enough I could see sadness in his eyes.

’’S-Spare… me…? W-What are you… talking about…?’’
’’Of course, that was total nonsense just now! Hahaha!’’

With another kick Thomas rolled me over the floor, but I reacted quickly as I saw that due to my failure my Dragonite was also suffering. I called my Dragonite back to hover above me, and so did Thomas’ Flygon return to Thomas.

’’Thomas, we can continue this for forever. I suggest we make the final blow. Right here, right now.’’
’’I couldn’t agree with you more. I’m getting tired and bored from this little game. I’m done toying with you. Prepare to die!’’
’’Forgive me, Thomas!’’

With those words Thomas and I made a final run, but our pokémon staid put. This fight would be ended by Thomas and me, and all that our pokémon would do was provide us with their energy and trust. With a loud roar on both sides both of us prepared our right arm for a punch as we raced towards each other. Right before we both struck I saw Thomas’ face, and he was crying with a smile on his face. I was surprised once more, but that didn’t distract me from my goal; ending this match. I ducked, and Thomas’ punch only hit my shoulder instead of my chest. My punch hit Thomas’ chest head on, and as both our punched landed, Thomas gave me a final blink before the battlefield was shrouded in a mix of black and white energy which blinded us.

’’T-Thomas…?’’

The light faded away, and my arm was still pressed against Thomas’ chest. While still crying with a smile on his face, Thomas asked me something I’ll never forget…

’’Do it Brian… Unleash all of your energy… Finish me…!’’
’’W-What…?’’
’’Just do it!’’

Thomas grabbed my arm and pressed it even tighter against his chest… He then pressed his own aura against my arm, forcing me to unleash my last bit of remaining power…

’’F-Forgive me… Thomas…’’

As my remaining energy blasted straight trough Thomas’ chest, I didn’t believe my eyes… My energy forced something pitch black to leave Thomas’ body, and as soon as the shadow like figure was blasted out of Thomas’ body Thomas’ dimension began to disappear. As my energy ran out, so did my Dragonite’s, and it was reverted back to its original shape.

’’T-Thomas… What was that…?’’

Thomas couldn’t reply to me, as all of his energy was drained from him as well, and we all returned to the real world. Thomas’ Flygon also returned to its own original form, and as if it knew the battle had come to an end, it returned itself to its pokéball on Thomas’ waist.

’’Well, Dragonite, I’m glad it’s finally over. We’ll finally be able to rest for a while.’’

My Dragonite nodded in agreement, and I returned it to its pokéball to rest. As Thomas’ dimension began to vaporise into nothingness, I couldn’t believe my eyes. I returned to the cave where I was before being transferred to Thomas’ dimension, but that was not all…

’’Geez, that took you long.’’
’’Yeah, we expected way more from you, Brian.’’
’’G-Guys…’’

As I set foot back into the reality, Freya, Daniel, Matthew, Cody, and all the others where already waiting for me… And so were Chris and Kenny…!

’’G-Guys… Are… are you really… okay…?!’’
’’Heh… It seems I managed… to save… them…!’’

I looked next to me, and strangely enough Thomas was smiling as he said that.

’’T-Thomas… Did you…?’’
’’Y-Yes Brian… Y-You… have to… Please… F-Forgive... me…’’

Thomas almost fainted, and in a quick reaction I managed to catch him in my arms.

’’Thomas… Why…? If you saved Chris and Kenny, then why did you tell us all we’d die…? And since you claimed to truly hate us… Then why…? Why Thomas…? Why?!’’
’’P-Please Brian…’’

I began to shed a few tears of sadness, disbelief, and happiness at the same time… While in my arms Thomas coughed up some blood, and only when I looked at his chest I realised my energy had torn a hole in his chest at the size of my fist… While I was holding Thomas in my arms, he was slowly dying…!

’’Thomas… I have so many questions for you… Don’t die on me yet, dare you…! After all we’ve been trough… It can’t end like this you hear me…!’’
’’B-Brian… It’s… too late… for me… I wish… I was stronger… Strong enough to resist… Strong enough to stay with you…’’
’’W-What…? What are you saying Thomas…?’’
’’My time has come… Just… be careful Brian… Promise… me that…’’
’’Careful…? For who? Or what? When…?’’

But before Thomas could answer, I noticed I was paralysed. Not only I, but everyone around me was paralysed as well. We could still talk, but our bodies wouldn’t budge at all…

’’W-What the…?! I can’t move…?!’’
’’Calm down Kenny, neither can I…’’
’’Easy for you to say Chris… You know I hate being trapped…’’
’’Don’t we all…?’’

As everybody began to grow a little irritated and annoyed by the situation we were in right now, a rather hazy voice interrupted us all…

’’You all better shut up right now, or I’ll be forced to shut them permanently.’’

Surprised we all turned our view, and in the distance the pitch black entity that I had punched out of Thomas’ body came walking towards us all…! I decided to confront it right away.

’’W-What’s going on here…?! Who are you…?!’’
’’My dear Brian… You’ve grown so much since I last confronted you… After observing your performance I wish I had picked you, instead of Thomas… Thomas had a lot of potential, but I never knew there was such a big difference between the two of you…!’’

I didn’t believe my eyes… Or ears… In front of me Shannon appeared as she came walking towards us. I wasn’t completely sure it was Shannon though, as what was in front of us certainly wasn’t human… But then again, was Shannon actually human herself…?

’’S-Shannon…?!’’
’’Aren’t you happy to see me, Brian…?’’

All of a sudden Thomas began to interrupt us, and with his last remaining energy he spoke to me…

’’B-Brian… Don’t… be fooled… The thing you see there isn’t the real Shannon… It’s just her curse… One of her powers… She took me… she took my mind… I never wanted to do those horrible things… Not only against you, but against… anyone…’’
’’Thomas… What is it what she wanted from you…? Why did she need all that suffering…?’’
’’Brian… Watch yourself… The reason she needed someone like me was because-’’
’’Now now, don’t spoil the whole thing already!’’

The entity that resembled Shannon stood right in front of us, and we didn’t even see how she got there so fast…!

’’S-Shannon…!’’
’’I’m sorry Brian, but this is where you have to say goodbye to Thomas.’’
’’Wait… What…?! Say goodbye to Thomas…?!’’
’’Bye-bye now.’’
’’Thomas…!’’
’’It’s okay Brian…’’

The entity moved its hand inside of Thomas’ chest, and with a single pull she pulled out Thomas’ soul, leaving his lifeless body behind in my arms…

’’It’s okay Brian… My time ran out anyways… My last words… Please… Forgive me for all that I did… And be careful. I will always watch over you.’’
’’Thomas…! There’s nothing to forgive… I always believed in you… in your kindness… In your friendship…’’
’’Brian… Thank you. Think of me once in a while…’’

Thomas now slowly began to vaporise, but he still managed to speak to me…

’’Stay strong Brian… I believe in you. Just be careful, and keep faith… Thank you, Bob, Chris, and Kenny for those wonderful years I had… You will always be in my hearth, wherever I may be…!’’
’’Thomas! Don’t go…! Thomas! What is it that I should be careful for…?! Thomas!!!’’

All of a sudden the entity resembling Shannon swung her arm, and the last remaining energy of Thomas’ soul was swept away into nothingness…

’’I’m glad that’s over… You two just kept on whining against each other.’’
’’Y-You…! You killed… Thomas…!’’
’’Killed him? Excuse me? First of all, you delivered the finishing blow, Brian. And secondly Thomas’ soul was my property since a long time ago. I simply reclaimed what was mine.’’
’’How dare you…! I will never forgive you…!’’
’’Oh please, I don’t need your forgiveness… I was going to ask if you wouldn’t like to take in Thomas’ place, but I think you’re not interested… At least, not now…’’
’’You monster… You will pay for what you’ve done… Whatever you are, I’m sure that I will punish you…! You hear me…?!’’
’’Shees, no need to get so angry… Very well, I’ll be returning home now. Until we meet again…!’’
’’Don’t you dare…! Come back! Face me if you dare!’’

But I was already too late. The entity resembling Shannon had disappeared, leaving no trace whatsoever. After a short while we all regained our mobility, but that most certainly wasn’t enough to cheer us up…

’’Man… To think Thomas was forced to do all that all this time…’’
’’I know Chris… To think you, Brian, and I faced him in a life to death match…’’
’’He saved out life you guys. I’m afraid we couldn’t return the favour…’’

Chris, Kenny, and I looked at Thomas’ lifeless body which was in my arms. I dried Thomas’ final tears, and closed his eyes.

’’So, what are we going to do now?’’ Daniel asked to break the silence.
’’We still have some research to do for Cyrus. After all, that was our initial mission.’’

For a moment I remained quiet and I turned my back to everyone. I put Thomas’ body on the floor, and stood back up. I looked at Thomas’ body, and I thought of how unfair it all had happened. I was glad I still had Chris and Kenny with me, and that Bob was probably still alive… But in return I lost one of my other close friends… Who turned out to be a true friend until the very end… His end.

’’We’ll finish that research. Chris, Kenny, Daniel, and I will take care of Thomas’ body. We’ll hold a proper funeral while you guys finish gathering enough information.’’
’’Roger that. Okay everybody, let’s get this over with quickly so we can return to the base!’’

Everybody left at Freya’s orders, and they scattered across the cave to do research on various places. Chris, Kenny, and Daniel came towards me and I turned around to face them.

’’You guys ready to contact Black Rayquaza? I want Thomas to be buried back at PMC Headquarters.’’
’’Transport’s already on its way. Daniel took care of that for us. Kenny and I will help transferring Thomas’ body to the carrier.’’
’’Good. After we finish our business here, I want this place razed to the ground. We’re returning to the Team Galaxy base as soon as possible, and we will rescue Bob within two days when we get back there. After that, I want a meeting with Black Rayquaza. I have some plans of my own I want to discuss with him.’’
’’Agreed. Let’s do this.’’

With those words we all headed out to finish our tasks, and to end this horrible day at last… For all the years I had been living, this was most certainly the blackest page of my dairy…

[end chapter 50]

Can't say THAT was the way I expected it to go... although I knew there was SOMETHING up with Shannon :p

Although it was kinda weird how Chris and Kenny were still alive even after being brutally torn apart in Thomas's dimension. Guess it makes sense in another way though.. I mean, they're needed for the story itself to progress no doubt, so really it was needed for them to come back.

However, I'm none too good at this whole prediction game, so I'm not gonna try and guess what comes next for now :p. Although maybe once I get a bit further with mine we'll see... ;)

What interests me overall is that Brain never used his own pokes for this - he was GIVEN them to go to the base with. So, really, he made this divine link with somebody else's poke... interesting.

Also interesting to reveal more of Shannon's TRUE nature here. Makes you wonder just what the others are all capable of... I mean, that's the "sweet and innocent one" right there, so who knows what the more ferocious of the group can do? Things could get a lot rougher STILL in the next instalment...

Great stuff as always though man, really. There was a lot going on there and that's exactly what we like to see :p. Now just make the length of the next one closer to that per chapter and the world will be a happier place :D

I can only say one word to describe this story. WOW. I can't believe Thomas would be such a wonderful friend, it makes you wish everybody is like him, a TRUE friend.

Sorry I haven't commented for a while, I am quite busy because of school. :D. Gladly waiting for Book 2!
