PokeBeach Physical Fitness Thread

Oh wow never knew this thrad existed.

But anyway I'm just the type to take at least 1-2 hours a day on the treadmill, should be doing more stuff though.

I workout 4-5 times a week. 2/3 of them in a gym:cardio 1/2 times a week, +1/2 strength (every other legs, arms, stomach, etc.) + Boxing 2 times a week :D I'm not skinny or suuuper-fit, but I do have one of the best "cardios" (stamina?) in class (not just among the girls, but boys too), and I'm pretty strong for a girl :3

Before, I trained football 3 times a week where I was the keeper/goalie, but I just didn't bother anymore because it was me + 7 others on the girls team.. (We are born in '95 so we play 11 on the field)

I'm still not exercising, (apart from my 2-8 hour daily walks) I keep telling myself I'll get exercise next semester when I can do it with vy and 6d. When I finally get around to getting my license I'm going to get really fat.
✌☹✌

I updated the OP because I'm being really anal about optimizing my routine or whatever, even though what I've been doing is fine

Basketball tryouts in a few weeks, spending about an extra hour a day in the gym and really stepping up the cardio.

I get to the gym 4 days a week, isolating different muscle groups each time. Usually do sprints on off days.
Staying fit is a good way to relieve stress, but if you want real results, it comes down to about 30% Training, 70% diet.

The hardest part is the diet.. I started the werewolf strength gaining workout on Monday.. So far so good. Don't remember to throw in a cheat day once a week and enjoy your favorite food!!

On another note, I have a hockey game tonight :D

Update: Won the game 2-0, notched both the assists!

I've lost 75+ pounds over the last 6 years. The majority of it was lost over the first 2-3 years. I've struggled with losing weight for most of my life, but by working for FedEx Ground and riding my bike regularly, I was finally able to shed the fat. I don't have a set routine to help keep the fat at bay, but I still ride, lift weights a couple times a week, and do 100-200 pushups every other day. Biking is my favorite exercise, so it gets harder to stay active in the winter. I have a treadmill that I'll reluctantly have to use since biking won't be an option once the snow flies.

Haha cheat meals are the best. Good luck with werewolf training, a mate of mine tried it a while ago, said it was pretty intense.
Congrats on the win as well!

I do a lot of home workout for when I can't get to the gym. I love just basic crunches, pushups, pull ups. They might seem simple, but they really work wonders. Also, if you have a treadmill running for half an hour each night is great! I used to do that while curling weights. If you pace yourself and warm up and cool down, it's a great experience that doesn't cost you $19.95 a month. :)

I also cut many unhealthy foods out of my diet. Sugars, carbs, pops... ultimate way to have a six-pack set of flabs. My family buys a lot of organic and whole grown food, so it cuts out all the nasty pesticides for a more healthy diet!

I try to do muscle confusion workouts, pretty much playing with dumbbells and following DVDs like P90X.

Try to is a misconception. Tried to is more accurate. The last day I worked was like 3 weeks ago. @_@

I also don't do it enough days to actually lose any weight. Back when I had a job that didn't require me to wake up at 6:45 I used to get more sleep and be more motivated to excercise. Where I live and where I work is flipping my health upside down. I gained like 20 pounds in about 2 years lol.

Well time to start over again! I also really like Bob Harper and Jillian Michaels but it gets pretty boring to do afterwards. In a gym you're more likely to push yourself as you're already there, and people are around you so you feel more pressured into doing it.

One other thing is I lost interest in shopping at Whole Foods since Shaw's is so close and them Tyson chickens and produce, while they're healthy, they are contaminated and don't really speed up the process as much as when I shopped from Whole Foods. Eh, or I just worked out harder back then. I still think shopping for organics is smart but some things aren't worth the extra buck.

For example... it's definitely worth it to get organic strawberries, apples and blueberries. It's not worth it for onions or avocados. Something I learned from The Skinny Rules.

Oh hey! Good post! Good magic!

So, with the first semester of school ending, I've been lifting seriously for about 4 months. I've gained 10 lbs, to put me at 5'9" and 135. Obviously I'm still underweight and I plan to keep gaining, but i'm proud of the progress I've made so far (tho my gains probably haven't been meeting their full potential due to flaws in my diet)

I'm curious as to how you guys lose weight. I'm 5'9 and weight about 180Lbs (yeah i know i'm getting fat >.>). For most people i know they have to actively run, eat healthy, and do other excessive action. I just uhhh....well i walk for about 2 weeks, an hour a day, headphones in and i lose about 15Lbs.

How do things like this work for you?

Not a weight loss expert, but as far as I know, weight loss is all about burning more calories than you consume. In theory, you could eat thousands and thousands of calories a day and still lose weight as long as you were doing enough physical activity to burn all of those calories (and then some) off. An hour of walking is quite a bit, really, I can definitely understand why you would lose weight from that.
