RE: PokeBeach Sports Discussion Thread - Get your head in the game!

They actually won 4-3, but you are right. Quite amazing series even though I predicted the winner wrong. Dat Game 6. I just don't have any words.

dmaster out.

RE: PokeBeach Sports Discussion Thread - Get your head in the game!

You mean they won 4 games and Texas got 3 games right? If so I think you are right on that. The final was 6-2 Cards right on the final game? My stepdad watched and gave us the final and he said they won 6-2. Are you sure? Please double check. Thanks XD. I may have gotten the wrong info as he may have thought of another ball game score but last I heard their last game they won 6-2 XD.:)

RE: PokeBeach Sports Discussion Thread - Get your head in the game!

Oh, yeah, I thought you meant total series. Yeah, four game wins for St. Louis, three game wins for Texas.

I'm still hatin on the lockout. I wish that they just end it because their greed is our misery lol.

Nah I meant for the regular score. I never count game wins. I only count final scores XD. That was why I was confused LOLz.XD.:)

RE: PokeBeach Sports Discussion Thread - Get your head in the game!

Are you guys talking about the NBA lockout? If so last I heard it was supposed to last the entire season if I am not mistaken as if they renewed contracts now it would be a waste of money since the season is already a third over now. Basketball typically ends in June and it usually starts in August for pre games and so if they started now with a partial contract it would be a waste since the season is already in progress. At this time I doubt there will be NBA since we are 1/3 of the way through now. The season ends in 7&1/2 months so might as well bag it until next year guys.:)

RE: PokeBeach Sports Discussion Thread - Get your head in the game!

Dude, season started just last week technically, the season can be saved. Deal is getting closer to be accomplished as players have already reduced their demands

RE: PokeBeach Sports Discussion Thread - Get your head in the game!

If it started last week and they are getting close to reaching a deal then the season will be nearly over since they need at least 2 months or more to prepare then after that they will only have 5 months to play officially. I say bag it until next year otherwise it will be a waste of money which can be use for future seasons.

See if they scrap this year then they will have more money saved next year and also it will give them a full year to get the contract prepared for next year. If they do it this way then they will be able to play next year and then have some leftover for other things such as uniforms and jersey's. They would also have enough to pay part of the following years contract as well. It will save them in the long-run if they did it this way. As bad as the economy is now if there is no money then there is no play or fun. In order for this to happen you have to save some money set it aside cut out a whole season in order for the next one to be able to happen.

Look at it this way. For the fun to happen the money has to talk. If it does not talk then there is no play. If there is no play then the fans are not happy.
You guys have to realize money does talk. Money talks guys. Depending on how you see it it does to the point that you have to be patient and pushing does not get the contract signed because in order for that to happen they have to have to money. They can't just sign and play. They have to save some in order to have enough. They might be close to a deal now but as short as they are the season is going to be really short if they sign now.

By my standards if you get into a pickle you hang on until you can do what needs to be done. That is how the world works. If you want to see basketball this year you might as well wait until next season as that now is only 9 more months. Better to wait 9 more months rather than push for a short season.:)

RE: PokeBeach Sports Discussion Thread - Get your head in the game!

You're older than me and yet you didn't know that the NBA had this problem a decade ago and they played a shortened season with only 50 games. If they don't do any games right now, they would lose more money.

It has been shown that both sides will be incurring losses as this lockout continues and ending it and starting a season would be the best way for them to cushion losses

RE: PokeBeach Sports Discussion Thread - Get your head in the game!

Oh no I did not know this happened 10 years ago as I was not in the United States at the time. I was living in Canada at that time so I did not know about that lockout at all. Sorry man. I did not know a shortened season would be better than noting. Ok. That makes a little more sense now. Thanks XD.:)

RE: PokeBeach Sports Discussion Thread - Get your head in the game!

I live in a third-world dump of a country and yet I still know those details lol.

Anyway, according to a tweet by NBA, if the players accept the deal, we can still have a 72 game season AND All-Star Weekend.

PLEASE ACCEPT THE DEAL ALREADY!!

RE: PokeBeach Sports Discussion Thread - Get your head in the game!

They won't. #greed #selfish

RE: PokeBeach Sports Discussion Thread - Get your head in the game!

Watched my boys from UNC beat the Spartans in the Carrier Classic, the entire game was pretty exciting. It was a great season-opener. :)

I did not know that news because I was only 19 at the time and still in school and rarely watched the news back then. At that time I only had news from Boston New York and Pennsylvania so I did not pay much close to that as I only paid attention to the Blue Jays and the Seattle Mariners if they were playing one of the East Coast Teams. That is probably why I did not know about it plus we had Satellite for all the hit movies like we do now. When there are good shows on Premium channels we watch those more than anything else XD.:)

Arkansas put a 20 point drubbing on USC Upstate in their opener. It's not anything to brag about when beating down a weak team, but it's a good start to the Mike Anderson era.

RE: PokeBeach Sports Discussion Thread - Get your head in the game!

Looks like there will not be an NBA season after all because according to my news where I live they shutout the latest deal and furthermore they are now in jeopardy of loosing the whole entire year for basketball. I knew this was going to happen and me predictions were right on the nose. They just don't have the cash to sign the deal guys. Better luck until next year now. Chances are very low now that there will be a season this year but it does not look like it will happen now. They are now too far into negotiations to plan or even worse make a deal. I don't see a deal anytime soon guys. Hate to be the one who braks the bad news but you guys got to hear it from somewhere.:(

RE: PokeBeach Sports Discussion Thread - Get your head in the game!

RE: PokeBeach Sports Discussion Thread - Get your head in the game!

My high school team is playing in the 2nd round of the playoffs tomorrow. We are 16th, playing the 32nd at their home. Seems like we have the upper hand, but they just beat #1 in a very unexpected game. Wish us luck!

EDIT:
FREAKING WE WON, HEADED TO THE QUARTERFINALS.

RE: PokeBeach Sports Discussion Thread - Get your head in the game!

I got some bad new about a player from the Seattle Mariners. I can't remember his name but apparently while the guy was on Vacation in I think it was New Zealand the guys younger brother stabbed him to death over the volume of his stereo system. As far as I have heard there has been no charges in the case and the guy that played for Seattle played for only 35 games last year. Quite shocking actually. It is a case of in the wrong place at the wrong time.:(
