24 hours of days, 10 hours for work, 2 hours to back and forth from workplace to home, 5 hours for sleeping, 5 hours to eat, do housework, cook, cleaning, pick up dry-clean, left... 2 hours to.... finally be able to breath, chilling out little bit, but NEVER ENOUGH!!

*sigh*

Life is suck when you are adult.

Don't you agree?

Point out your opinions, about daily work life, work-related stories, FUN, SAD, HAPPY, anything worth sharing.

Imagine yourself in an office's pantry, talking to your co-worker(s), gossiping your boss, your neighbor, your other co-worker, etc :3. Ohhh and keep the topic in PG-13.

I shared my first *cough-cough*

I have bachelor degree in Psychology. But thanks to a particular person, I end up working as a tax accountant. Super stressful job, with low salary, and BEST, not my speciality.

I work at a family company. My big boss is the wife, the director and owner is the husband. The general manager is their daughter in law and her husband, the son, is also registered as a Production Manager with 5 times my salary, but do nothing but sleeping at the office.

Peoples I consider as 'my boss' are the general manager and my supervisor, who also the niece of the director.

Story #1
My GM threw me a bulk of invoices to be recorded on the laptop

GM *General Manager a.k.a the daughter in law*: Andrea, finish this by noon.
Me: *sparkling smile* Ok

After half an hour
I worked diligently, while from time to time, opened PB and did H/H. My Supervisor just come in, as usual, almost 1 hour late. I heard she talked to the GM downstairs, but can't hear what they are talking about.

Supervisor: *just go upstairs to our area* Andrea, did you finish print all the tax invoice?

I was confused, I shown her a bulk of finished invoice ready to be recorded

Supervisor: What do you make!! I told you yesterday, you have finished the print out yesterday, so GM can check it today.
Me: But I already....
Supervisor: *not let me finished my sentence* Completed your job first before go to another job. How could you be able to make the tax report without print all the tax invoice!!??
Me: But I make....
Supervisor: *still not let me finished* GM ask me to tell you, you must finished the tax report before tomorrow's lunch!!! I told you already to finished the print out yesterday. You have to finished the report today. Now, back to work.

She keep 'remind' me to finish my report before lunch, after lunch, and even after I printed the report and put them in her desk!!
/me banging her head to the wall.

RE: PokeBeach's pantry *Office Area*

Working life is the worst. Especially if you get no credit for what you do. This one time, I was cc'd in an email with a bunch of people. After weeks, the situation is finally resolved, and the customer thanks each and every person for their efforts on that email. Except for me. Even though I was the one that did the all the dirty work to take care of all of it. It is not super important, but at the same time, snubs like that leave people with bitterness in their mouths and frustration at their jobs.

RE: PokeBeach's pantry *Office Area*

I love my job, and I have great co-workers and a great boss! The customers are great too! (well, most of them) I just don't love not having enough time to go on PB! I work at a jewelry store located inside a flea market cleaning silver, organizing the display cases, making sales, cleaning the floor and counters, sorting out boxes of stock determining whether it's scrap (which means it gets sent to the refinery to be melted) or keep to display in store and various other odd jobs around the shop.

We have a rule that any silver being cleaned is NOT for sale unless it is being sold to a VERY important customer or I've already finished cleaning it. One of the most interesting/annoying things (mostly annoying) about this is that no matter what I tell people, no matter how many times I tell people and no matter how clean or dirty the silver is or if it has the cleaning chemical on it THEY KEEP GOING THROUGH ALL OF IT AND MAKING MY HARD WORK A WASTE OF TIME! I have to keep the clean stuff separate from the dirty stuff, and have it organized by what type of jewelry it is. (for example, necklaces go with necklaces, rings go with rings and pins go with pins) To elaborate more, I stand behind one of the display cases (which ironically enough, have silver in them that people tend to ignore when they see me cleaning stuff) with the silver I'm cleaning on top of the display case. So as you can imagine, I already have a semi-small area to work with. What makes this worse is that not only is it usually multiple people doing this at the same time, but that it's the same customers doing it multiple times in the same day.

I have good stories about the customers too!

About a little more than half a month ago, an old WW2 vet. came in. He said "I'm looking to buy a nice silver chain and cross for my neighbor, who is a very good female friend of mine. She was in a car accident not too long ago and lost her husband recently. She just sits in her house alone because the accident crippled her legs and hands, so I would love to see her happy and smiling again." So I walked him through the store showing him the various silver necklaces and crosses we have.

After about 15 minutes of heavy thinking, he decides on one of our most beautiful chains, but still has not found the right cross to match it. My co-worker who was in the shop with my that day told him that that chain was a tad bit expensive because of the weight of it. ($55) He said that money is no object to him, and he would gladly spend anything to see her happy.

So after that I showed him the the crosses. At first we couldn't find any at all that matched, but then we remembered the display case outside the store. The cross in there was perfect, it had a Roman-Catholic design (which is the lady's religion, as the man mentioned as he was looking for a cross) and it was only $10! The WW2 vet. was very surprised with his $65 total, and actually asked if he could pay us MORE for his purchase. We heavily insisted that the $65 total was fine (we are a wholesale store anyways, so it couldn't be any cheaper that that as we were only charging for silver weight with no premium on either piece) and he eventually agreed with the price.

He walked out of the store as just about one of the happiest people I've ever seen constantly thanking us for taking the time to help with his selection and to help his lady friend become happy again! :D

Speaking of work, I need to go to sleep! It's 1:11 AM where I live and I need sleep before I get up at 7:30 AM to go there! >.<

EDIT: Not being able to sleep on a work night sucks.

RE: PokeBeach's pantry *Office Area*

A week or so ago, a guy cussed out my general manager because we didn't give him habanero sauce cups with his nuggets. We offered him sauce from the grill; he refused because it tastes different (which isn't true; it is literally the exact same sauce). It wasn't enough to explain that not only were we out of habanero sauce, but every store in the city is out (they all had called us asking for some). In addition to that, our food supplier was also out of it. No one had any sauce, and there was nothing else we could do. We even offered to replace his whole meal, but guess that wasn't good enough. He went through the typical angry customer tirade, gonna call corporate etc, what's your name, are you in charge, etc etc etc.

It was hilarious. All of us who heard the conversation (including the general manager) were rolling after he got off the phone.
