Locke waited nervously in Octillery's office until a Staraptor swooped down from the top of one of the towers. She walked inside and glared at the Riolu in front of her. "Is this the new recruit?" She asked Octillery, not expecting an answer. "Aren't you a little short to join the army?"
Why does this keep coming up? Locke thought angrily. "No I'm not," he said proudly. Staraptor chuckled. "Of course you're too short. We need you to get you in fighting condition. Follow me outside,"
Locke followed the large bird outside of the office through the back exit into a large stretch before the 3 towers.
"Alright, before I take you up to train with anyone else, I need to give you your first test," Staraptor stopped and said to Locke, who was shocked and just noddeed. "I want you to kill me."
"WHAT??" Locke shouted, panicking over what he was just told to do. Staraptor just chuckled again. "I want to see what you can do. Come at me with everything you can do," She instructed Locke.
Locke was contemplating what to do. This is a fully evolved Pokemon, and Staraptor's a flying type! I'm fighting! What happens if I don't do well? He thought, freaking out in his mind. He decided to ignore his fears, no matter what happened. He ran towards the Staraptor and used Force Palm.
Staraptor easily fluttered out of the way of his fists. "Too predictable. Predictability is what gets you injured," She scoffed at him as she used Brave Bird. She was fast approaching and Locke was sure it was going to be end. He braced himself before he had a crazy idea that could help. The Riolu braced himself, ready to use Counter.
