Me and one of my friends want to get a Pokemon Club started at our highschool. We need ideas of what to do in the club. Please post your suggestions. Thank you.

You could run it like a league session after school somewhere close to the school. Also, you could act like a teacher and help new people to get used to the game.

I was thinking of ds tournaments...maybe everynow and then on the ds or using battle revolution. Or just general Pokemon disscusions. I like the teaching idea ^

And you could organize it so that the new players dont battle the older ones so the newer people get more experience

^Make sure you run it somwhere where everyone can be there, if its not getting much popularity, then talk to people during the school day.

Maybe bring some of my Pokemon books or website links on my laptop to teach about Pokemon history and strategies. Glad my enitre school has WIFI :p

@yoshidude10 i plan on getting it as an official school club, and it being announced durring morning announcements so people should find it pretty easily

Good luck man. If you have a free room and people willing, I think it could work.

I would also consider bringing some of the decks you use yourself to the leagues. You can let the new people battle with the deck and teach them the strategy. You could probably make some beginner pre-made decks from cards you may have just lying around. Good luck!

At my school clubs always sell ristbands and shirts so maybe ill do that for this club. And maybe go to the design store and have them make me some pokemon badges...Anyother ideas?

If you have morning announcements over the school intercom you could have the principal or somebody advertise your club then, that way maybe more people will hear about it.

I tried making one of these in 6th grade. It failed horribly >.< Reason? Pokemon sucks, it really does. If you aren't playing with competitive rules, and are over the age of 14, pokemon isn't very entertaining. I honestly wouldn't be caught dead in a pokemon club at highschool, but there are a few things you could do to make it fun. First being, OU, or other official tier tourneys. If you guys don't play competitively, this could be a good opportunity to learn as a group. Bring your laptops for practice, and sav your teams for a tourney once in a while. It's fun to see a group of people rise from the bottom. TCG is another thing, but I feel it would be much harder. Depending on how many people you get, (In my HS, that would probably be 0) the recourses needed, at the diversity you'll see in decks isn't really worth the time and money spent on it. That's what league is for. Pokemon, being so suckish, is kind of hard to play in non-organized or official events. Best of luck to you, but unless you're doing what I mentioned earlier, you don't have many options.

Lol well said, i have to explain to all my friends how pokemon can actually be competitive, and its not just my pokemon is legendary so i win. but most people don't know about ivs/evs/natures so they think of pokemon as a kids game.
