Ta-daah! Here is the artwork for the three starters,
Forgeo, Firicle, and Marost

Also, I felt like including including the boy and girl trainer artwork

BTW, I would also like someone who can make color artwork of these pokemon. If you are interested in helping me, please contact me!!

RE: Pokemon Granite and Pokemon Cumulus

I guess it's kind of sad I have to keep posting on my own posts...

It seems like interest in Pokemon Granite and Pokemon Cumulus has seemed to be dwindling

RE: Pokemon Granite and Pokemon Cumulus

Okay, I get what you're doing. Right now, you're in the stage where you need help. Badly! But there are two other games competing with you. So that just makes things tougher. Now what I suggest are some stable foundations.

1.Listwhat you will be making the game on.
2.Say what you need. (spriter, programmer, etc...)
3.Say what you can do. Hopefully you can do something besides make ideas and draw.
4. Post this on multiple forums.
5.Make a demo.

Make a quick demo of a small stage to show what you can do, alone. Mkae a small little map with maybe one battle and an item. If you can't do this then maybe work on different projects, (not your own.) until you can. You can't expect others to do most of the work you know. Hope this helps =)

RE: Pokemon Granite and Pokemon Cumulus

You help me and I help you.
You helped a bit on Aquamarine, so I'll try to help you on this.
Ok, one really important thing. Ditch the monster type. Pokemon are already based on monsters, and we don't need any new types.
If you do the Neo Starters, you have the Fighting/Psychic/Dark triangle, which is good, and then the secondary types are kinda messed. Water/Fire/Electric? Maybe change it to Water/Ground/Electric?

I'll post more later.

RE: Pokemon Granite and Pokemon Cumulus

Another triangle I found was Flying, Ice, Fighting. Just saying.

RE: Pokemon Granite and Pokemon Cumulus

And Rock/Grass/Flying.
Also, your pokedex can't be 255 pokemon long. Try to make it under 200.
Lots of these names are just parts of multiple existing pokemon. Try to be unique.

Wait, how come it can't be 255?

RE: Pokemon Granite and Pokemon Cumulus

Because that's too long. I'd use like 140-150 created pokemon, and then around 50 existing ones.

RE: Pokemon Granite and Pokemon Cumulus

OK, thank you for your input everybody, and I guess I should probably scrap the Monster type (Sadness) But, hopefully next time around, I'll be a little more creative.

Also, expect a new pokedex coming up, with the pokemon count reduced to 200 (or at least around that figure)

I am still in need of help, and I would actually like to propose to somebody who would want to to help me make this game. I have no technology skills whatsoever, but it seems like if I want to stay ahead of the competition with Pokemon Obsidian, Aquamarine, Ice, Sunset, etc. I'm going to have to push this thing harder. (That's what he said)

So, anyway, if you are interested in helping me make this game (You doing most of it, as I will only have the plans), please, don't hesitate to ask

I am still looking for people to make artwork as well! Still need lots of help

RE: Pokemon Granite and Pokemon Cumulus NEED HELPERS!

Yay, Obsidian first! :D I dunno where that came from...

RE: Pokemon Granite and Pokemon Cumulus NEED HELPERS!!!

Ok, here's a little bit of backstory

Long ago, the region of Galei had no shape at all. It was just a large, vast and empty ocean. One day, the four creatures of the elements decided to create land from the sea, and they each played a part in creating the land. Flaratore, the pokemon of Fire, created a volcano that quickly erupted, creating a large landmass that would soon become Galei. Granod, the pokemon of Earth, quickly cut away at the land, and created the shape of the region of Galei. Then, Coroneria, the pokemon of Water, and Cumulutan, the pokemon of Air, helped to cultivate the land, until what they had was a vivid landscape with many features.

Each had their own resting place. Cumulutan and Granod both dwell underneath and above Mt. Elenos. Flaratore lived in the deepest abyss of his volcano, Mt. Plume. Coroneria decided to live deep in the trenches of the Sueno Sea.

Soon after, pokemon had become showing up, and because this island of Galei was all theirs, brand new pokemon showed up, that had not appeared in other regions. The brand new pokemon lived peacefully, and little quarrel was evident

The four Elemental Pokemon lived in peace and harmony for a long time, when civilization came. The Elemental Pokemon were weary at first of their presence, but when they saw that they were cultivating the land and growing fruits and vegetables, they were glad that the land that they had created was being used for good. Then, the civilization created towns, and they befriended the native pokemon, and all was peaceful.

Then, as years passed, civilization grew smarter, they harnessed the power of electricity, and pretty soon, they were polluting the island. The four Elemental Pokemon became restless, and to show their disdain, Flaratore activated the once dormant Mt. Plume. Cumulutan shook the region with constant wind gusts of dangerous speeds. Granod shook the earth with earthquakes. Coroneria used the Sueno Sea to create hurricanes.

The people had learned their lesson, and they quickly began to experiment with natural energy. However, one group of people did not want to leave their way of life. They enjoyed the goods that they created while inadvertantly destroying the wildlife. This group decided to name themselves Team Superior. They began work on a secret project, that would stop the Elemental Pokemon from creating natural disasters. Their finished project became the Pokemon of Electricity, Voltan. They created Voltan to have massive pools of electric energy. They unleashed Voltan against the four Elemental Pokemon, and they were no match for Voltan. In order to protect themselves, the four Elemental Pokemon locked themselves away in their respective living places, and they have not been released ever since.

Legend says that they will awaken again once they are needed. If they should ever need to be called upon, they created an elaborate lock mechanism. Before they escaped into their hiding places, they created three pokemon who would act as the "keys" These pokemon were Offlagon, Bouldlagon, and Elelagon. Once the three pokemon would be collected, their harnessed energy would reveal the location of the four Elemental Pokemon

Now, current time. There have been rumors that the new leader of Superior has different plans for Voltan. He wants to use Voltan's power to control the Four Elemental Pokemon, and make them do whatever he commands. You are now ready to leave for your adventure, and who knows. You may actually be the one to stop Team Superior.

Only time will tell.

You know what's funny, when I was first creating Pokemon Granite and Pokemon Cumulus, I was thinking about calling it Bezerk, but I didn't really like it, because it didn't really seem like an actual type to me, just a state of emotion.

So, I decided to scrap it and change it to Monster. Then I realized that nobody on the forums liked that either, so I decided to scrap that as well. If you think of something I might be able to use instead, I would be very interested.

And I thank you for liking the story.

Also, I don't really know if this matters much, but I got a new banner and avatar to represent Pokemon Cumulus and Pokemon Granite. I really like them :)

RE: Pokemon Granite and Pokemon Cumulus NEED PROGRAMMERS, SPRITERS, ARTISTS!

I can do a map,not like a full out artwork like map but where everything is kinda map.

RE: Pokemon Granite and Pokemon Cumulus NEED PROGRAMMERS, SPRITERS, ARTISTS!

Oh my god, that would be sooo helpful!!

Let me just give you a little info

1. I want Sueno Sea to be in the top part of the map, but I want a town (Last gym), Mt. Elenos, and the Elite Four to be above that.
2. I want the beginning town, Freshent Bay to be right on the lower edge of Sueno Sea.
3. Incorporate the volcano, Mt. Plume somewhere.
4. Include three things for the Key Pokemon (Offlagon, Bouldlagon, Elelagon) You can make them caves, or whatever. Whatever you think is more mystical
5. Make sure to put in the usual (A forest, the 8 gyms, Safari Zone, etc.)
6. Include anything else that strikes your fancy.
7. Oh, I almost forgot, put in a village somewhere, to make it seem a little more ancient and sacred

Thank you!!!

RE: Pokemon Granite and Pokemon Cumulus NEED PROGRAMMERS, SPRITERS, ARTISTS!

Might want a battle frontier too, and something like a contest hall or pokethlon.
You could do pokemon ping-pong?

RE: Pokemon Granite and Pokemon Cumulus NEED PROGRAMMERS, SPRITERS, ARTISTS!

Note Itll just show where every thing is, not a great peice of art.Can I make this region modern?(high ways, roads, etc)

Honestly, I didn't really like the battle frontier. It seemed like it was just tacked on at the end. I liked the idea of extra exploration after the credits roll. Kind of like in FR and LG and Diamond and Pearl. That's what I would rather implement into the map.

Maybe we could put in the pokethlon. It seems like a good idea.

@Castformfan: You can put in like a FEW modern things. But don't let it overpower the ancient feel to it.
