Pokemon Japan Increasing Supply of Booster Boxes, Reprint of “Pokemon Card 151” Coming in May!

Ironically this would do more to damage the "hobby" than the people you think are "ruining the hobby".
How so? Plenty of people would buy it. It would also bring down prices of people holding onto it, so everyone can get the cards they want.

If sets have no value, why rip packs? Better to buy singles as is, but especially so if everything is worthless. It sets off a death spiral where less and less people buy new sealed product, shops can't afford to keep buying from distributors, and the market stagnates.

Actual collectors in this hobby do not care about value. Ripping packs is part of the hobby, and the entire reason why the Pokemon company decided to make reprints is because of awful people buying them all, and holding onto sealed packs/etbs/cases that eat up the supply. I wouldnt understand at all why you wouldnt want this unless youre only in it for the money like some people. I would much rather them print every set to oblivion, and have it readily available than have a card game seriously need stock so average people can have fun collecting vs "InVeStInG". Look at One Piece as an extreme example, or most TCG's prices for that matter. Regardless TPCI IS printing more, so its kind of pointless now since every set from here on out should see reprints. Thankfully

Luckily, TPCI has a bunch of smart people who know that if they overprint to the point where nothing has value, the TCG will die. People like you misunderstand how the economics work. Actual "collectors" come in all varieties and MANY of them care that things like their 1st Edition Charizards and Moonbreons are actually rare. If they were not rare, they wouldn't be special, and if nothing is special, no one cares about your TCG.

If you don't care about value and just prefer to burn all your money that's on you, but you are kidding yourself if people interested in a game based on rarity don't themselves care about rarity.

Once again, if everything is common, there are no rarities and you just killed your IP. Market prices go to zero, no one cares about trading since nothing is rare, shops can't afford to buy new sets because they lost money on the current sets and can't sell singles because they're worthless.

It's not all about rarity (Look at the OPTCG). Pokemon was making decent money BEFORE everything hit the fan. They are only making more money NOW. Dialing it back a bit isn't a problem if it's gets rid of shit people. That's why they've confirmed reprints in newer sets from here on out which is a good move from the business moving forward. You wouldn't understand the love and passion alot of us have for the hobby if the only thing you care about is money. Taking a recent look into sought after cards like the Van Gogh promo, and the Pokemon together promos just look at the panic, theft, and stress businesses and greed from common folk we have. They reprinted the Van gogh cards (again thankfully), and everyone could get one and no one batted an eye, but the scalpers who were distraught that their investment was a flop. Its not making collectors cards worthless, but moreso stabilizing the market, so the hobby is actually enjoyable. That's what needs to change, and its slowly looking brighter.
