Ruling Pokemon Powers and Bodies in general

Hi!

i know this may be a really newbie question, [well how can we help it, we're total newbies anyways :p] but we couldn't find an answer through searching, =]

if a pokemon has a Pokemon Power or Body, can it use it while it remains Asleep, Confused, or Paralyzed? like, that Nidoqueen that comes in the 2009 Championship Decks. x)

cuz we noticed that some of them say they can't be used if blah blah is Paralyzed, etc blah blah.

but what 'bout those that don't say so?

thanks x)

oh, another question! when like, an energy card says that it provides 2 or more energy, like, Double Rainbow, or Boost, or like maybe Grass energy with like the Sceptile's effect or something?

say there is 1 energy attached, does it count as 2 attached, or just 1 attached providing 2? like, is Providing and Attached different? [basically for attacks that count the energy attached!]

i know, is it random question? ahah thanks though x)

1. Unless the Poke Power/Poke Bodies says that you can't use it if the Pokemon is under a Special Condition (Burn, Poison, Paralyze, etc.) you can use that Power/Body. The older cards would specifically say what kind of Special Condition.

2. I"m not completely sure about this qusetion, about I do believe that they all say they all say, "As long as it is attached to a Pokemon." If that's the case, it counts as one energy being attached, but provides two.

For the energies, Gliscor I think was correct but worded a bit differently.
If the card says: "Provides X {insert color here} energy" where X is the number of energy it provides, then it counts as one card providing that amount of energy. So there would be 2 energy on that pokemon for one card, I guess 2 "attached" to that pokemon. One card, multiple energies (if it says so on the card).

If a card counts how much energy is on the pokemon, then it counts all the energy being provided by cards, be it one or multiple units of energy per card. If a card counts how many energy cards there are attached to the pokemon, then it only counts the actual cards, not the amount of energy being provided.

Hope that clears it up. Ask if need you need the explanation to be simpler.

thank you, ^.^

i understand what you guys are saying, =]

like, the Tyranitar from D&P Stormfront, his attack says does 20x the amount of energy attached to Tyranitar,

but what if he had like, a Double Rainbow attached, i know, it's like,
a dorky way of playing around with words, but it's 1 Energy card attached,
that is providing 2 energy. but still, it counts as 2 Energy attached, right?
it'd do 20 x 2 = 40 damage [then well yeah, -10 from Double Rainbow effect],
right? ahah.

You are correct. It would do 40 damage minus 10 more damage equaling 30 damage. This is because Tyranitar checks for ENERGY not Energy CARDS, as you accurately assumed.

This is actually a valid modified format question, as Double Colorless being reprinted means it is highly likely it will be played with Tyaranitar. Only in that situation, the -10 wouldn't be applied.

thanks a lot for your reply!

hey, i have another random question, about Mechanics again,

if things happen that occur at the end of your turn, does that happen before the In Between Phase type of things,

like, when a Pokemon gets put Asleep, it flips a coin for Heads in between turns, right?

so what if I used that one Darkrai that is from Majestic Dawns that says, at the end of your opponent's turn, the Pokemon is Asleep, does that occur before the flip, so he can still flip? thanks x)

It occurs before the flip. Your opponent is then required to flip a coin between turns to check if it wakes up.
