Does Pokemon Ranger remove negative effects of attacks from player 1's pokemon that started the effect by player 1's pokemon attacking , or does it also/instead remove effects done toward player 1's pokemon from player 2's pokemon such as Torment? What about effects done to player 1? Does it only remove effects done to player 1 by player 2's pokemon and/or effects done to player 1 by player 1's pokemon?

It removes all effects of attacks. It doesn't matter whose pokemon initiated the effect, or to whose pokemon (or player) it effects. They're all negated. Shell trap is an effect. Even if the effect doesn't activate until the other person attacks, it's still an effect of an attack and is therefore negated by Pokemon Ranger.

"Woah" but no. Not currently at least. Pokemon Ranger doesn't see much play since switching, and gusting effects to either get a duplicate setup Pokemon or the same Pokemon fresh into the active tend to be better and can frequently leave you with a supporter still available for play that turn. Guzma being an obvious exception, but typically well worth it.

It will see more play for sure once Ultra Prism is released. That luxray deck is gonna be a real PITA

But then PR probably only has until August (a LOT of cards that we count on are on the clock, big time) so we'll see how it shakes out.

Yep, very intrigued as to what kind of tech supporters we get between now and rotation.
