Well, that's good information. Maybe the train of thought surrounding the Gengar guess was correct. I'm going to guess Misdreavus.

It would seem the right answer...
But remember that, though it scares people off with sounds, that sound isn't a roar, it's a screech. Also, I don't see any color changes between sprites, and misdreavus doesn't change colors itself...

I think gengar is closer...

So i'm guessing... Rayquaza... because it floats and roars... lol
 
None of them, I can see this is hard, lemme just say the colour change refers to HGSS, hence ''next year''
 
Gligar doesn't float, he glides. Koffing's color is slightly different in HG/SS compared to DPPt. Plus he floats in mid-air without wings.
