@Adan - Yes, you can only go up to lvl 25 at the moment, but the level cap should increase after certain updates to the game have been made.

The next update is pretty much finished and is apparently going to be published soon. The following additions/changes have been made in this update:

  • 5 new pokemon
  • 14 new moves
  • 8 new evolutions
  • 1 new level
  • 1 more shiny
  • A few bugs/glitches have been addressed and fixed

I don't know if/how much the level cap has increased so don't get your hopes up or down.

I will edit this post/start a new one when Sam (the developer of PTD) has published the update. :)
 
The challenge was very easy i did it on my 3rd try you just need to come up with a strategy and move pokemon around and stuff like that im sure you can do it or watch a videon on youtube to see how they did it and timeshift do you know what this shiny pokemon is gonna be or how you unlock it and when is that stuff like trading gonna come out cuz i want to evolve my shiny graveler

will we be able to evolve our starter pokemon when this update is made cuz i really want a charizard and am i the only person who chose charmander. most people chose squirtle because of pewter city gym and mt moon but i picked charmander because i though charizard is cool and i wanted to give myself a challenge
 
@Adan - I don't know what the new shiny pokemon is but it can be obtained regularly (i.e. in the story levels and not as a reward for beating a challenge level). Apparently the chances of finding a shiny pokemon in this game are just 0.01%, which means they are even rarer in this game than they are in the main Nintendo games! However, if you do see a shiny pokemon in the normal levels you can catch it straight away without having to damage it first.

As for trading, you will apparently be able to trade with yourself. This may sound weird but it will work by trading pokemon from one of your profiles with pokemon from one of your other profiles. So as there are some pokemon exclusive to red and blue (you pick the version you want to play at the start of this game), you will not be able to obtain all pokemon on one profile without trading. I'm not sure when trading will come into effect.

Finally, the update could be published any minute! :D

Edit: Haha I actually chose Charmander too! I doubt we'll be able to evolve Charmeleon into Charizard for now, because the level cap is unlikely to exceed lvl 30 as of this update (it might even only go up to lvl 27 or something).
 
oh ok and that level that is coming is that the last level of the game or will more come adn can we trade with our self now or do we have to wait for an update and what shiny pokemon are obtainable so far i know there is geodude, pidgey, and one of the starters for donating
 
I think there are still a lot of levels to come, I'm not entirely sure when we can/will be able to trade, and I don't know how many shinies there are yet, but I've heard people are trying to catch shiny pikachus and various other shinies. :D

The only shiny I have is a Geodude which I got from beating the first challenge level. :(
 
Thanks Adan but don't worry about it! I like the challenge of having to find a shiny Pidgey anyway so it's all good! :D

IMPORTANT EDIT! Version 2.3 is out!!

Also, Adan, I was wrong about how to obtain the next shiny - it turns out you can win it by following clues. I'm not 100% clear on this but you don't have to catch it in order to get it.

Not all websites have the updated version at the time of posting this but check them frequently because they will update it after some time.

@Adan - I didn't know when Newgrounds would have the updated version but I can confirm they do have it now as I just checked!

@All - The guy who is making this game has requested a week off of updating it, which I think is fine considering the amount of time and effort he's put into this so far. Therefore don't expect me to give you any news regarding the next update for about a week because there probably won't be any. :)

Having said that, it doesn't mean I'm not going to look at this thread for a week. :D

Now I'm off to play the new level! :)
 
Ive been grinding at Mount Moon 2 and right now I have 7 lv25's at full exp and $65600 and counting
EDIT: over $100000 and counting now
 
Mt. Moon 2 was really easy. Why do all the good pokes have to be blue bar though :'(
 
4 days ago I said that there would probably be no news for about a week. However, it looks like I was wrong. A small update to the game has already been finished and posted on Newgrounds. As it is a minor update, don't expect anything like a new level, challenge, tons of new pokemon, a level cap increase, etc. The changes made in this update are bug fixes and more shiny pokemon. Here is a list of the new shinies included with this update:

  • Rattata
  • Raticate
  • Caterpie
  • Metapod
  • Butterfree
  • Weedle
  • Kakuna
  • Beedrill
  • Spearow
  • Fearow
  • Ekans
  • Arbok
  • Sandshrew
  • Sandslash

Please note that some of the pokemon in this list cannot yet be caught directly, so to get, for example, a shiny Raticate, you will need to catch a shiny Rattata and evolve it. For convenience, I will repost the link to the game, if that's ok with mods:

I just wish the levels all came out at once, so we don't have to check every day for a new level. :p
