Hi Everyone.

This is the first time I hae ever played a Pokemon game online and atempted breeding and trading. Basically I want to know how to breed the perfect Pokemon as in Stats and Nature, by perfect I mean for me or people who want certain Pokemon. The main reason for me breeding is not only to trade with others but also create the perfect team. So how do Natures and Stats affect each other when breeding and what would happen when breeding Japanese Pokemon obtained in trades with my English Ditto or Pokemon of the opposite sex.

Nature affects stat gains.

For example Modest nature gives a 10% bonus to special attack, and a -10% attack to regular attack.



Stats fall into two catagorys.

Individual Values, and Effort Values.


IVs are a hidden number between 0 and 31 for all stats that will be the total 'bonus' stats that will be gained by level 100.

EVs are a secret kind of combat experience, when you KO a certain pokemon it will give a certain number of effort points. For every 4 or so points you will gain 1 stat by level 100. You can only have 255 points in any one stat, and no more then 510 EVs total.
 
Pokemon has a lot of complex mathmatical equations behind it.

For example here's the damage calculation for the games.

Damage Formula = (((((((Level × 2 ÷ 5) + 2) × BasePower × [Sp]Atk ÷ 50) ÷ [Sp]Def) × Mod1) + 2) × CH × Mod2 × R ÷ 100) × STAB × Type1 × Type2 × Mod3)
