That's actually MSRP on them, the local shops and online sellers just sell them for less because they can sell more that way. The local shops get them from distributors that buy hundreds of boxes at once and pay a lot less then MSRP. The shop owner I talked to said he gets boxes for $85 and he resells at $100 so really he's not making much, the real money comes from loose pack sales.
Additionally if you ever find a sealed box at Target/Walmart/etc you'll see that they sell them for about $160+ (more then MSRP), just like they sell individual booster packs for $4.19 each.
Oh, dang, the Grand Opening stuff is limited? Well, I guess that makes sense. But if I have to think about limited-edition stuff I'm really doomed... I already want the Charizard plush, the Tyrunt plush, the Chespin Poke Doll, the Charizard shirt and possibly the Charizard mug. xD
