RE: Pokenerd's Art! Updated With Shaymin

The Shaymin avy is good! You've taken another step towards being a great artist.

However, there's not enough BG. I'm not going to go in-depth about it, though.

I was tying to get it to pop out. The loss of background was intented.

All right, this art thread is not very popular. I need comments!

Hmm...Pretty good...But you need to work on a few things;
Backgrounds, text, renders, and animation. Your text seems rather plain and doesn't completly flow with the banner. Don't worry I've had the same problem and to tell the truth, I'm still working on it. The backgrounds also seem to be rather plain. You etheir use a plain background or a GIMP wallpaper. Maybe trying some new brushes to help with this. The renders are really choppy. What do you use to render? Lastly, the animation is quite blurry. Try working on this.
Ok, I'm done rambling! XP

I know pokenerd in real life, and to answer some of your questions...
We shall refer to pokenerd as x, making it easier for me to type.
x uses the blur tool for his animations, which is why they're blurry. I suggest to him that he attempts different animation types.
x does not zoom in and use the path tool, but instead uses the Scissors-select tool, making his renders choppy. I suggest to x that he uses the more advanced style of rendering.
As for the other two points, I completely agree.

Actually, I do use the path tool for card renders now.
What do mean by different animation types?

Do you zoom in to 800%?

And by different animation types, I meant animating your banners in different ways. There's more options than "blur" in that drop-down menu.

Sometimes, other times 400%.

I know.

You should almost always go up 800%, if not sometimes more.
But like I said, you really need to work on your backgrounds. Until you do that, the banners can be very boring. Maybe you could try out smudging, vector style, or C4Ds to add to the background.

I've been fooling with brushes and effects, so I added Absol.

RE: Pokenerd's Art! Updated With Absol!

Okay, I've updated with my first pop out. I think I did a decent job...

RE: Pokenerd's Art! Updated With Gyarados popout

That Gyarados is sick but the text should be changed (darker/different font).

dmaster out.
