Yeah that's the bad news about it in terms of Japanese and English Pokemon, however the good news is that If you fail to catch any of your Old Pokemon from Gen IV onto Black & White with the PokeShifter Mini-Game the Pokemon will go straight back to the old games instead of losing them permanently.

Wow. Thats worse then not being able to trade items.
Oh well. I am waiting for a english release anyway. They should have made a simeotaneous release, (or atleast both by christmas). Then wed all be happy and we wouldnt have these isshus.

What I mean by Region Locked is that you can't trade or migrate Japanese Pokemon onto the English versions of Black & White or vice-versa. You can still trade and migrate Pokemon from other Pokemon Regions (Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, and Sinnoh) especially after you've beaten the games and such.

You can't migrate Hold Items onto the new games however you may still be able to get those Items from Black & White through Trades and the Battle Frontier possibly If there is one in Isshu. I'm sorry If I confused anyone about this.

Pal Park wasn't locked in any way for what I know. You could migrate from any GBA game to any DPPt/HGSS...

Also in whatever way you're calling this "language" locked, its the exactly same as "region" locked... :b

U.S.=English
U.K.=English
U.S.=/=U.K.

That's the difference between region and language lock.

Oh, and yeah, Pal Park was language-locked.

Thing is that I got a Japanese Kyogre from Pokemon Sapphire that was migrated via Pal Park onto the 4th Gen games and I already transferred it over to my SoulSilver game.

When Black & White is released next year I won't be able to migrate that Japanese Kyogre with the PokeShifter Mini-Game correct? Or does this mean I'll need to catch an English Kyogre in HeartGold to migrate over to Gen 5?

I had a friend help me with transferring over English legendary Pokemon from a fourth generation game to B/W and I did get the Pokemon. So you can transfer over Pokemon in a different language from the game you're using. You can't connect an English fourth generation game to a fifth generation Japanese game though.

Given the Mesuda Method I'm pretty sure Pokemon generated from a different language game is still allowed. Simply using an English 4th Gen game and a Japanese 5th Gen game isn't allowed. I can't really say weither the GTS is region specific at all because the Japan release of B/W is the only thing we've got so far.

No, it isn't the Pokémon that is checked, it is the game.

You need to have a Japanese copy of D/P/Pt/HG/SS to transfer Pokemon to Japanese B/W. It doesn't matter if the Pokemon being transfered were from a different region/language, as long as they are on a Japanese cartridge. I have actually transfered English Pokemon by doing this.

I would assume that the same would hold true for other regions' games. Just make sure that your Japanese Kyogre is on a game that matches the region/language of the copy of B/W that you're transferring to, and you'll be fine.

Answer yes or no to this and it'll be clear:

Can you use the Pokeshifter to transfer Pokemon from a EU/USA Copy of Pokemon Soul Silver, Heart Gold, Diamond, Pearl or Platinum to a Japanese copy of Pokemon Black or White?

Nope. Tried it. Didn't work.
