If pokemon is taking it to EVO and offering prizes, they real serious about the game. They are presenting it as the next evolution of pokemon. My worry is that less players will be attracted to the card game and more to the video game. If the prizes are the same eg...scholarships and so forth, I can see many people forgoing cards for the competition side of the fighting type video game. It will take less work involve as it is a more reflex game than gathering pokemon and trying to out stragitize your opponent. There is just more popularity in smash button games at the competitive level because the the difference in skills needed to play the game is much more enjoyable to fans.
