Seemed like a good idea :p. Mods I don't know if this is allowed but, yeah here goes.

DO NOT DISCUSS:What group you belong to and why? What you think of what's going on in politics right now?

NO FLAME WARS. RESPECT EVERYONE'S OPINION. NO HATTING ON SO AND SO.

Pokebeach Rules:
Note: Political topics are okay, just as long as they do not involve the above topics. Please remain civil when discussing a political topic or we may add politics to the above list. (Above list = banned topics)

Don't start a flame war, and I think it should be fine :)

I don't understand your question. I didn't see any rules you posted, and I don't think we should question the Pokebeach rules. Anyways, my views:
I guess you could call me independent, I disregard party affiliations when looking for candidates to support unless they would mess with the ability of the candidate to function as a representative.

Whatever.I'll change it if anything happens:

I have no interest in politics outside my school. I stand up WAY TOO strong for my beleifs (See student lounge thread). And I believe WAY TOO in the First Amendment :p

I want things that would improve whats going on and our eduction. After all, kids are our future.

DO NOT DISCUSS: your political views, and opinions , What group you belong to and why? What you think of what's going on in politics right now?

I vote for Republicans most of the time. Sometimes, I don't vote at all.

And what do you mean 'What you think of what's going on in politics right now'? Are we supposed to voice our opinion on how we think the government is currently being run? Seems rather pointless, imo.

I'd also like to know: can we discuss things like what's going on in Egypt?

YAY. Somebody besides me and hyper posted.

I totaly agree. Me, being a student in the education system, i can truly say it haws gone down the garbage (Or at least the NY school system). I hope they seriously do something for the future generation of kids.

James i fixed that. I guess you can talk about egypt just no hatting on anybody

A democracy is a government for the people i believe, so if the public is annoyed with the leadership, the government should do that.

Like Hyperbeem said, if this ends up to be a flame thread it will be locked swiftly (and these threads have quite the tendency to do that, so just be careful). For right now, it can stay open for discussion.

dmaster out.

@Darkvoid If you think New York's school system is bad, you should see Arizona's (49th best in the nation)

@TDL Egypt I think is a very important situation to talk about at the moment.

It is probably the big thing that should be talked about in the world today. This event is crazy, the rebellion, the protesting, and the government being asked to resign. Mumbarik needs to learn that the people do not want him, he said in a press release a few days ago that he was going to ask the Parliament to resign, this is not what the people want, they want him to resign, not get rid of everyone else, he really needs to learn this one fact, or the whole country will remain in turmoil. My message for him is, "Quit wanting to hold onto your power and give into what is best for Egypt and the Egyptians."

@ Guy
Wow, who's 50th?

I also personally think that egypt should be talked more about. It is a serious issue yet no one in the states seems to care.

I know that the Egyptians are protesting against their president, but what exactly did he do to make them protest THAT furiously?

First of all, he was a fraud in elections, and did not respect the rights of people. Another reason is that for the years he was president Egypt has had a stagnant economy.

Poverty, unemployment, and corruption of President Hosni Mubarak. Since the riots were planned online, the government blocked Twitter and Facebook, plus some other social network sites, then they took it to the next step and blocked all Internet services in the country. The government really isn't handling the situation well.

Hosni Mubarak has also ruled the country for thirty years, so maybe a new leader isn't a bad idea. But, Hosni Mubarak refuses to give up his leadership. What a nub.

@Darkvoid Many websites have Arizona at 50, for example this one: http://www.statemaster.com/graph/edu_bes_edu_ind-education-best-educated-index

We really need reform in education, I mean planning for the future of the world is a must.

Can I flame people in the government?(note, not forums members)
The first step to fixing as many of the world's problems as necessary: education.
Mubarak needs to learn fast that without his people's support, he has no power over them.

I have voted both as a republican and a democrat. I usually lean towards the moderate side. I usually go for the least of the two evils.

With this in mind, I don't like either party and think a introduction of a third-party (not the tea bag) that reflects views on both sides. However, much like communism; it looks good on paper but is unrealistic when actually introduced.

I have liberal views with conserative spending and s huge emphasis on education in both public and in university levels.

I am not up to snuff about the Egypt situation save for the main basics. I actually learned of it after planning s possible trip to the country.

^
That pretty much sums me up right there. Also, I highly recommend against taking a trip to Egypt now, political instability usually isn't tourist friendly. There is a third party btw, the Libertarians, but I'm not so sure about their plans and views.

^Well, I think he was referring to a major third party, and one that actually has a chance at winning an election. I'm pretty sure Liberitarians believe in Liberal policies on social issues, with Conservative viewpoints regarding the economy (for the most part, at least).
As for Egypt, yeah, I'd rather not go there on a trip right now. We'll see how this all ends up whenever it ends and act from there, but I'm not too sure there's much we can do besides that.
