Pokemon Popular Pokémon Choices for X/Y

I'm going to try out a semi-hipster team for Pokémon X, so I'm wondering what the popular choices will be for the first play through of the game, so I can stay far away from them.

Pokémon I will allow on my team: Starters, Gen 6 mon only (excluding starters).

What seems to be popular: Talonflame, Sylveon, Fossils and Doublade.
Any other Pokémon that are going to be used by pmuch everyone?

Bunnelby is kind of the only Pokemon people seems to not using in their teams.
so you can use it.

So Pikachu is out of the question? With all of the new pokemon, no one seems to want the old ones on their team.

There is a reason why some Pokemon are not popular
but yeah don't use it

What about the Fighting bird? Do you think that will be more popular than Talonflame?

It is hard to tell because Talonflame is way cooler but the fighting bird has a really special type combo

It's hard to tell now what will/won't be popular because many evolutions haven't been revealed. For example, right now I would expect that Swirlix wouldn't be too popular, but if it evolves into some giant mean cotton candy bear, it would gain a lot more popularity.

Evolutions will make or break a bunch of pokemon for me, like Helioptile, Spritzee, and Clauncher. I never want to use a pokemon if its final evolution doesn't strike me right.

Yeah, I don't really think I would use that one, haha. Nice drawing though! I'm getting Y, so I'm hoping more for a great Spritzee evo than a great Swirlix one.

I may use Flabébé, but only if it doesn't evolve into a Grass type, because I'll already have one.

Whenever I see the name "Pancham", I keep thinking people are talking about "Aipom", the names are so similar, and I wonder to myself: "Why would ANYONE want THAT Pokemon?!"

Then I realize they mean the panda, then I nod to myself, and move along..

But I liked pandas BEFORE they were cool, so I don't care if everyone is going to be using one... *puts on hipster shades*

I rarely ever like Legendaries... The only ones that hold a place in my heart are Lugia and Celebi, back when in my child-like delusion I thought Legendaries were hard to catch/get and that they weren't spoon-fed to you... >_<

PS. A good nickname for Barbaracle: Barbarosa, Barbaros, or Red Beard. ~.^
