Popular video games that make you go “meh”.

For me... CoD, I mean the black ops zombies is AWESOME but the other parts are horrid.

...What? You like shooting things, but you don't like shooting other things?

I agree with DNA, HGSS is way overhyped.

You're both dead to me.
Hey, I never said I didn't like HGSS. In fact, I loved it because of the scenery. But, as SL said, after you finish there isn't a whole lot to do, because you know where most everything is already.

This is also why I dislike most Zelda games. After you're done, it's like "lol now what?".

Again...I'm not a hater. I just reached the limit of how far I could go with those games.

What is your definition of "done"?

No less than any other Pokemon game pre-BW2. You've got the Pokedex (and to complete that you have to do a ton of stuff like the Safari Zone, Bug Catching Contest, Headbutt, Hoenn/Sinnoh sounds, the Pokewalker), the Battle Frontier, the Pokeathlon, rematching gym leaders and the Elite 4, fighting Red again. And if that fails, just catch a new Pokemon and train it. Honestly, Pokemon only ends when you say it ends, there's lots of things you can do within the games. If you find yourself thinking "there's nothing left for me to do" you're not looking hard enough.

Firered/Leafgreen and Emerald had much more post-game content than HG/SS. And like I said, most of it was the same stuff from the originals, so it eventually lost its luster. Completing the Pokedex and training Pokemon was also somewhat of a wasted effort, because everyone knew Gen 5 was right around the corner.

Beaten the final boss and finished all the sidequests (none of which are every really that long or difficult). Why do you ask?

Call of Duty. I don't know why so many people like it if it's the same game every release. The gameplay is also crap.

you have clearly played cod before
especially zombies

Never really got the point of Mario. It always looked mediocre to me. :Y

Regular Mario games are starting to feel that way for me, but Mario Kart will always be fun. Can't beat a good session of Mario Kart Wii.

It's moreso the blatant rehashing and lack of innovation in recent Mario games that's putting me off to the series right now.

I think what's making people dislike Mario lately is the 'New' series (and the fact that two released this year makes it easier to do so). It does have to be noted though that while many people claim that they're milking the series, there is actually only one on each system since DS. And Nintendo have stated that they do not plan to do any more than just that; one per system. The reason this is relevant is that people will trash the 'New' series then praise the 3D Mario games - even though they appear multiple times on systems haha.

I must also throw my vote in on Skyrim. I was soooo hyped, but my parents were iffy on me getting it since they didn't want my little sisters seeing it so, well, I couldn't get it. Four months later in March, my uncle bought it on the cheap and gave it to me. I asked my parents what to do with it, and they said they were okay as long as neither of the sisters were in the room. Needless to say, I got even more excited for that night, as I could finally play it while they were asleep. I loved the game, and played for about three hours. But... Ten hours later and the game had already gone its mile. Once I got over the "I can go anywhere!" feeling and realized that it really doesn't matter since there isn't much to the gameplay itself the game became boring.

I hate knowing that games have just gone to waste if you dislike them, but luckily my brother still plays it and has logged 150+ hours into it. Hooray.

The NSMB series isn't inherently bad at all, it's great that the series wants to stick to its roots. But they seem to just be going through the motions with it, and that's the problem (and it's not just a problem with the NSMB games either, 3D Land and Galaxy 2 seem a bit too rehashy as well). Pretty much every NSMB game has similar levels, similar powerups, similar bosses, even similar music. That's why people hate it. The clustered release schedule is a bit problematic, but I think many people could overlook it if each game felt unique.

I'll repeat the excellent point Jontron and Egoraptor agreed on in GameGrumps. New Mario games have no soul.

I'm sorry to inform you but that is the way 95% of all single-player games ever made are.

Mario Kart 64

Never really understood why so many people praise these games for being amazing.
This.
I don't agree on Super Mario 64 though.

Just about anything newer. Pokemon is just about the only thing I play, besides some RPG's. All these 1st person shooter games just seem stupid. Why kill people/zombies on a TV when you could be doing something better with your time?

Why play RPG's an Pokemon when you be doing something better with your time? That's a bad argument to make against playing video games, no offense.

But people could go hunting or shooting for sports. Also, people get really worked up over those war games, much more than Pokemon. Now that I think of it, what happens after the main story of those anyways? Do you just restart or is there extra like Pokemon?

Yeah, let's give ALL of those hyperactive 8-year-olds guns and hope for the best. Again, bad argument.

You'd be surprised. Any game you play socially are going to have people that overreact, scream, cry, and ragequit. Just get on PO/PS, you'll see what I mean.
