ORAS Post-Game Hopes and Expectations

What are your hopes for the ORAS post game? it's been really long since I played ruby, so I can't remember most of it, but I want version differences, like Certain islands are rocky (or) or flooded (as.)

I also want team magma to show up in AS's post game, and vice versa. That's it really.

RE: Post-game, your hopes and expectations

Battle Frontier.
Gym Leader and Elite Four rematches, with them using higher levels and mega evolutions. Post-game Brendan/May battle where they mega evolve their starter, and for Wally with his Gardevoir (or Gallade, if he evolves it into that instead)
A few new areas, which it looks like there will be judging by the new Hoenn map. It would be cool for the Mirage Tower and Desert Underpass to return too.

I totally love the idea about islands being version exclusives. I think that could possibly be one of the greatest ideas I've ever seen on this site. It would really make the game just that much better.

RE: Post-game, your hopes and expectations

The map pretty much kills any hopes and expectations for new areas in this game, there's not much room on the map for new areas, and the unused archipelago along the Pacifidlog/Battle Frontier area that would've been the most obvious choice for post game areas is still unusued. I think it's just going to be the Battle Frontier and Desert Underpass mainly (and a handful of legendary related areas, but those wouldn't be very interesting places to explore anyway). As for everything else, I'm expecting a decent amount, probably something like this:

-Post game story arc involving Rayquaza.
-Swarms
-Maybe Poke Radar again if they need more room for National Dex Pokemon.
-Safari Zone Expansion/Friend Safari
-You can obtain National Dex fossils (Dome Fossil, Helix Fossil, Old Amber, Skull Fossil, Armor Fossil, Cover Fossil, Plume Fossil) by using Rock Smash in Desert Underpass
-Desert Underpass leads to a new underground ruins area where you can catch Unown (it's about time theses guys were catchable in a recent game).
-You can choose a 2nd gen starter from Professor Birch (and unlike Emerald, you don't need to complete the Hoenn Dex).
-You can choose a 4th gen starter as well from someone else (not really sure who, probably a 4th gen character cameo like Cynthia).
-Latios/Latias will roam Hoenn post game, but will eventually settle on Southern Island for you to catch them. They drop their Mega Stone after being caught.
-One of the Beast trio will roam Hoenn based on your starter (Entei if you chose Treecko, Suicune if you chose Torchic, and Raikou if you chose Mudkip).
-You can go to Navel Rock and catch Lugia/Ho-oh.
-You can catch Dialga/Palkia somewhere (I wanna say Meteor Falls?).
-After catching/trading Dialga/Palkia in both versions, bring them to the top of Mt. Pyre and a portal to the Distortion World will open where you can catch Giratina.
-You can obtain the Magma Stone somewhere post game (maybe from Steven or Prof. Cozmo?). Take it to the top of Mt. Chimney and you can catch Heatran.
-Regigigas, if not in the Hoenn Dex, can be obtained post game by bringing the other Regis to Sealed Chamber.
-Tornadus and/or Thundurus would roam Hoenn after speaking to someone at the Weather Institute.
-Landorus would also be catchable in some way after catching Tornadus and Thundurus (not sure how).

RE: Post-game, your hopes and expectations

Shiny rate increases after Post game or easier to get shiny charm

They would have to put a lot of work into making the OR versions just as good as the AS. Diving seem a lot more fun than climbing. I'm getting OR so if my idea is a thing they better make good use of it.

I think if they made Shinies any easier to get then it would take the whole wow factor away from them.
Their rarity was already halved in X/Y, plus we have Masuda Methoding, Chain Fishing and Friend Safari to get them more common...

THEIR RARITY WAS HALVED?!

That's why I found two shiny fletchling...

EDIT: I wasn't even trying to find them, either.

RE: Post-game, your hopes and expectations

I do have some hopes and ideas for potential post-game content.

-Access to another area of the Safari Zone, assuming that will return in ORAS, where you can find mons not in the Hoenn Dex. This would be a good time to make mons that have unavailable Hidden Abilities available if Friend Safari does not make a comeback. (I am referring to the likes of Skrelp and Dragalge and their potentially useful Hidden Ability, Adaptability.)
-Being able to encounter the Kami Trio in some sidequest in the Weather Institute. Tornadus and Thundurus could roam like the Legendary Birds in Kalos, and once you've pursued them long enough, they'll retreat to a secret area.
-Continuing on from the previous topic, if you can trade Tornadus/Thundurus from another version, assuming they will be version exclusives, you should have both members to be able to find Landorus.
-The Legendary Beasts could also follow a similar trend.
-Make the Scorched Slab area be a hideout for the likes of the Legendary Beasts and/or the Lake Trio, depending on your Starter.
-Being able to battle Cynthia and/or a familiar face (Jasmine, Crasher Wake, Misty, etc.) from another region on a daily basis.
-Encounter Rayquaza on Sky Pillar. It could also be where Banette's Mega Stone can be located.
-The return of the Battle Frontier.
-The rival is available for daily rematches, along with the ability to Mega Evolve his/her Starter.
-Wally is now able to Mega Evolve his Gardevoir/Gallade the next time you battle him.
-The Gym Leaders can be fought again, just like in Emerald.
-The Elite Four have much stronger Pokémon the next time you confront them.
-Being able to get both the Johto and Sinnoh Starters under different circumstances. The former could be your reward of seeing/catching every Pokémon known to live in Hoenn, barring Jirachi and Deoxys.
-As usual, Lati@s will roam Hoenn, depending on your version. (Latias for OR and Latios for AS.)
-Mew, Lugia, Ho-Oh and Deoxys can be found on certain islands in the same way back in FireRed/LeafGreen and Emerald.
-Steven Stone will have a Beldum available for us in Mossdeep City after beating him and the Elite Four. It probably won't have its' Mega Stone, though.

As far as undistributed Hidden Abilities go, I think they'll probably save the 6th gen HAs for the next Kalos game, but they'll probably have some in this game. I'm thinking it'll go like this:

ORAS: 2nd gen starters, 3rd gen starters, 4th gen starters
Kalos: 5th gen starters, Tyrunt, Amaura, Skrelp

Volcarona would make more sense. I'd want to put it in the main game, but no expanded Hoenn Dex.

Where would you get it then? I doubt it'll be event exclusive.

RE: Post-game, your hopes and expectations

  • Battle Frontier/PWT
  • Post-Game areas, where you can capture Pokémon not found in Hoenn or Kalos
  • Post-Game non-Hoenn legendaries, like in HGSS and B2W2
  • Re-challangeable Gym Leaders
  • That Ditto cave you find Steven in, in Emerald
  • You get to fight Sinnoh Gym Leaders
  • A whole new post-game map

His house, like old times in Emerald.

Beldum has the lowest catch rate of all wild Pokémon, and since I think Game Freak knows that not everyone has access to the internet, it would be logical to have another free Beldum, especially for those who missed out on the event and/or bought the game long after the event.

RE: Post-game, your hopes and expectations

You finish the game, and Birch gives you a pokeball and a new Mega Stone. You use it and learn it is Arceus. You know what to do. He mega evolves showing that it is just a Arceus of every type with 4 nuke launchers strapped to his back. Also he has 1 attack. Wrekt. That will pretty much make it the best game ever.

Battle Frontier/PWT

Don't get your hopes up for all of the 1st-6th gen gym leaders and Champions if the PWT comes back. It was much more convenient for them to do it in BW2 because it was on the same console as DPPt and HGSS, which allowed them to basically copy/paste every character model they needed except 3rd gen. This time it wouldn't be so easy, first because they're working with 3D now which takes much more time to make and two because they'd have to redo 4 regions' worth of trainers (Kanto, Johto, Sinnoh, and Unova).

You're confusing two different places. Ditto was found in Desert Underpass, and Steven could be battled in a new room of Meteor Falls.

Why?

The torchic in XY was the only way to get the blazikenite. It probably will be event exclusive.

No, event exclusive stuff never shows up on trainer rosters, and we already know that Mega Metagross is showing up on Steven's team. They have to give you the Mega Stone some way, it'd be unfair if they didn't.

Also, Torchic didn't appear in game in X/Y, so it wouldn't have made sense for Blazikenite to be in game anyway.

Shiny Beldum with Metagronite/whatever its gonna be called is probably just a nice bonus for anyone who gets the game on release day or soon after, then I imagine that the Mega Stone will be attached to the Beldum we receive from Steven postgame.
