Post Rotation With Dragons Deck Discussion

yeah, I have tried out Accelgor and bottom line is:
-It is too inconsistent. Ok, so you got a couple Paralyzing here and there, but now what? What about taking prizes? It has the same problem as Zeb/garbodor: Doesn't deal out enough damage. Also, once you Ko a pokemon and it goes into your opponent's turn, bye bye gothitelle. And a DCE every turn? nonsense. It is incredibly fun too play, but dies out quickly.

Just played against Rayquaza Eels with Hydreigon.

Rayquaza is a beast if it can get set up fast. 180 or 120 a turn is nothing to laugh at, especially when it can be doing it turn 2. However, once the eels are gone, it fizzles out very quickly and often gets wrecked at the end (in my game, by Shaymin EX).

In Accelgor, has anyone considered Venusaur? 2 of them set up and you can stream 70 and para every turn. that gets rid of the whiffing accelgor problem.

^Dodrio will be rotated

Not enough room, just run tons of draw and take the game before you run out of resources. Accelgor will NOT be tier 1, but that is the best way to play it.

Why don't you just play Mew EX instead. That way you just need to get the Mew back and a DCE. Keep the Accelgor on your bench.

So you would have a setup something like this:
Active: Gothitelle
Bench 1: Accelgor
Bench 2: Darkrai (Play with Blend DPGF)
Bench 3: Venusaur
Bench 4: ???
Bench 5: Mew EX

So you just retreat the Gothitelle send up the Mew, attach the DCE and use the attack. Then you just have to grab a DCE and use Venusaur to get the Mew back.

^To the above scenario. Snipe Accelgor for 100 to KO it with Raikou EX when they do not get the DCE and destroy the whole deck's strategy.Or KO gothitelle w/ mewtwo. now what?.....Hmmmm you actually could play Gardevoir to 2x psychics on Mew EX......but that would be hard to set up.....

That would happen even without the changes that I made... You still need an Accelgor on the bench at all times (you cannot build an Accelgor in one turn) and Mewtwo will always be able to OHKO Gothitelle (although the whole paralyzed thing makes that more difficult...) Yes the deck is inconsistent, but with Mew it is better.

Either way that's not what I plan on playing. I'm not really a fan of Accelgor locks. If anything I'd play Garchomp/Altaria with a Magnetric or Drifblim tech. I'm still not sure which is the better tech at the moment. Drifblim can swing for an absurd amount of damage, but so can Magnetric under the right circumstances.

I would leave out both. Garchomp/Altaria is already very tight for space, and the main advantage is Altaria lets you hit for absurd amount of damage for very low energy, which Manetric or Drifblim can't take advantage of (even though their energy cost is low). Drifblim might be interesting in other decks though that have room for Enhanced Hammer though...

Anyway, anyone up for a quick proxy match now? Send me a PM if your interested.
