So over the last 2 weeks I have been play testing a deck online. I have switched different techs in and out thoroughly to get the best results I possibly can.

on a foot note I do not even own shaymin ex or hoopa on ptcgo. but I do in real life which will affect the decks overall performance.

Pokemon:
Altaria ex ×4
M Altaria ×3
Trubbish ×2
Garbodor ×2
Shaymin ex ×2
Hoopa ex ×1
Lugia ex ×1

Total: 15

Trainers:
3 Sycamore
4 N
2 lysandre
1 Olympia
1 Skyla
4 Puzzle of time
3 Ultra ball
2 Vs seeker
2 Fairy drop
3 Altaria spirit link
2 Mega turbo
2 Float stone
1 Special charge
1 Super rod
1 Escape rope
3 Fairy garden

Total: 33

Energy:
6 fairy energy
4 double colorless

total 10

just to remind you, this list is not the one I've been playing with online because I don't have shaymin or hoopa.

So far with my broken list online I have won 15 of 16 games with this deck.

The most important games were yveltal because they are topping the tier list and I wanted to see how altaria matches up against it. In my opinion I have just laughed at those games. In fact I will go as far as saying that I have made it incredibly miserable for them considering I already have resistance but it's also card choices I have made that make this deck somewhat more resilient to come back from energy denial.

card choices:

Altaria & M Altaria :- there's actually a lot you can do with this setup. first and foremost, what I find interesting is altarias resistance and weakness is different in both evolutions. which is unique in that you don't have to evolve to make it harder for the opponent to ohko.

Shining wind could also be used in conjunction with shrine of memories to make metal match ups a little easier.

also M Altaria attack does 130 which is quite unique as it ohko volcanion, fright night, oblivion wing, greninja.

lugia ex : a way around ranger and a solid DCE attacker I may replace with diancie.

garbodor line : when I started play testing something I learnt very quickly was that volcanion and greninja can upset you very quickly. so garbodor is necessary for this deck as it slows everything down.

I could write for days about what I've learnt about this deck. overall it's fun and very interesting deck.

let me know what you guys think and if you have been play testing it yourself.

Fixed up the format of the list to encourage more people to post here. xP

I also added in my personal fixes. One of the main problems I immediately noticed was that you play a lot of cards that don't help set up your main attacker (M Altaria EX) as fast as it could/should. Because of that, I dropped some less useful things in exchange for more Energy Acceleration/Deck Acceleration and consistency.

4 VS Seeker: This is a must in Standard. The ability to utilize your Supporters consistently is probably one of the top 3 most important things to know in this format. 4 VS Seeker allows you to do so.

4 Ultra Ball: Like VS Seeker, this allows consistency and, more importantly, utility. Now you can search for Hoopa-EX instead of hoping to draw in to it. Now you can search for a Shaymin-EX and set up a much bigger play for it. 4 is a must in most decks, including this one, for those reasons and more.

4 Altaria Spirit Link/1 Float Stone: Don't forget that you can attach a Spirit Link to Garbodor! Running a 4/1 instead of a 3/2 allows you to consistently evolve in to M Altaria-EX without losing turns. Also, because you're running Fairy Garden, Float Stone isn't as necessary as it would be in other decks. Even with Stadium Wars, 3 Fairy Garden/1 Float Stone will be enough to get you out of most sticky situations.

3 Trainers' Mail: I prefer this over Puzzle of Time for two specific reasons. One, you really shouldn't have situations where looting from the Discard Pile is more important than accelerating your attackers. Two, it takes up space that may be useful for other cards. Trainers' Mail does the former in that it accelerates your deck and allows you to search for important tools (Spirit Links, Ultra Balls, etc.) while maintaining hand consistency (usually) and not forcing yourself in to an odd wombo combo. Also, with 3 Trainers' Mail instead of 4, you have room for extra VS Seeker etc. now.

I would personally love to see Max Elixirs in here, but that would require a higher Basic Energy count and more space as a whole, which seems like a pain at this point. Overall, I love the idea. I just think it needs a bit of work.

Still, nicely done. Keep it up!

I really like this deck idea and tempted to play it myself. The only thing I would change from the list above is swap out Skyla (Too slow) for the 4th Trainer's Mail.

The reason I run puzzle over mail is because from my early testing so many decks in standard are playing hammers. And that can really damage what this deck is trying to achieve. so with the combination of puzzle and special charge, it can make the deck react faster to being energy denied I was personally thinking about adding a misty determination aswell so you can dig for DCE once you have put back into deck

I suppose, but if you're dedicating 4 spots to recycling what is essentially 4 cards, you're already going to lose the game of speed anyway. I will agree on Special Charge, however, since your deck does need Special Energy more than others. Still, I just don't see Puzzle of Time being useful in here nor in this Format, quite frankly.

It looks like a good deck, kind of has the makings of Audino 2.0 because nobody plays it. I mean literally nobody. In almost 2000 matches since the beginning of the rotation, I've faced it 9 times on PTCGO. Unfortunately, I'm 9 and 0 against it, so I'm sorry Cookie but I'm going to be a little skeptical until I hear that others are having success with this deck too.

I know what you mean it's a completely forgotten about card. Unfortunately scizor crushes this deck unless you have tech Ed in a shrine of memories. but at best this delays for one turn at most, and at best a knock out.

however a friend of mine has been play testing with rainbow energy and yveltal fright night and ninja boy.

his Outlook has been to use yvetal to stall and attach spirit link then ninja boy in altaria and mega evolve as soon as he's ninja boy and start healing and knocking out weakened pokemon

So coincidentally Pokemon TCG Center just did a video on this yesterday, and he said he won 7 matches with it in testing and won both of his matches on the video. His deck is somewhat different than yours, although I definitely like your inclusion of Garbodor (I lose 75% of the matches that I play against decks that run Garbodor). So maybe there is something to this deck. Still, it's hard for me to treat it seriously when I've never lost to it.

Out of curiosity, has anyone toyed with this deck concept + a 2-2-2-2 line of Florges Breakthrough + Break? Not sure it would actually be viable, but it seems like dropping the energy cost to a single DCE + providing healing + status removal would be an interesting twist. That said, given how strong Garbodor is right now, it probably doesn't work. Mainly just throwing out an idea to see if anyone has toyed with it? :)

Trainer Chip has a post-rotation video on it. The only other ones I saw were Dark Integral Gaming, but they're both from pre-rotation. Yes, considering it would take so long to develop and the prevalence of Garbodor, I would think that it wouldn't consistently win.

They did a post rotation with the florges? I will have to check that out.
