I needed another P in the title.

ANYWAYS, I'm playing Pokemon Blue! I'm getting it on my 3DS so that'll be fun and stuff.

I need help though. I have no idea which Pokemon I want to use because I've never played Gen 1 Pokemon before.

Going to leave the thread open for suggestions. Suggest as many Pokemon and their nicknames as you want. After a few days, I'll open up the thread for voting and you guys can pick my 6 dudes (...even though they don't have genders...).

So have at it and I hope you guys can give me some cool ideas!
 
Eevee (yes, unevolved) - Dont Even

EDIT: Vileplume, Raichu, Lapras, Rhydon, Ninetales (bc blue is the superior version)

Don't ask for nicknames - I'm hopeless at those. xD

Abra, and its only move can be Teleport, and you HAVE to use it to finish off every Gym Leader's last Pokemon)
Kadabra (Alakazam is for weak!) - Mr. Snuffles
 
If you want to have an easy time with the game- Kadabra.

Every game also has a few Pokemon that people give you as you advance through the story. So you can get the following Pokemon from verious NPCs:
Eevee- Do not consider this one, imo.
Lapras- That's a good one.
Hitmonlee/Hitmonchan (your choice)- Good agaisnt Normal types that you encounter throughout the game, but less against gym leaders and the Elite Four.
Magikarp- :-]


There are also many Pokemon that can be evolved through Moon Stone. Don't be afraid to get one of those if you want, since you get a Moonstone really early in the game and at least 2 more as you keep going.

As for the starters:

Charizard- If you don't want Ninetails/Arcanine
Blastoise- If you don't mind having 2 Water types on your team (there are a lot of good Water types in this game)
Venusaur- If you don't want Victrebell/Vileplume (Same type: Grass/Poison)

I think that for the electric type slot, you should pick Pikachu. Only to experience the epic impossible battle of Pikachu against Onix in Brock's gym. (No Ash hax there).

However, this is moreso meant to be a Pick My Team kind of run. So which Pokemon would you like me to use?
 
I definitely vote for a Blastoise starter, since, you know, you're playing Blue and all. And he should be named after a Ninja Turtle.

For an exclusive, I'll recommend Victreebel named Fleur, and for a general pick, Nidoqueen named Belle.

Victreebel - Plantzilla
Ninetales - Roxy

I put a lot of time and thought into those names so you better like them.

And good luck, have fun! Gen 1 is my favorite to play-through, normal, nuzlocke, or otherwise.

Dewgong - Aurora
Arcanine - Ninedogs
Pidgeot - TFP
Jolteon - Voltage

You can see TFP as TheFlyingPidgeot, as TheFlyingPidgey, as TheFlyingPidgeotto or as me! :p

I don't care who you use for the rest of your team, but you have to use the Mr. Mime you get in a trade. It's the only one you get and he is a total loser who only I love. That makes him a perfect candidate.

I am all for Mr.Mime. Maybe calling him Mr.Pipe?
 
You get him from an in-game trade. His name is stuck as MARCEL.
 
Oh right.. Well, MARCEL is also good, I guess. Wow, so basically until Pokemon Yellow (I think?), all Mr.Mimes in existence were called MARCEL?.. weird.
 
I'm not actually sure which Pokémon to suggest, so I'll just post my team from when I played Gen 1 as my suggestions.

- Brian the Pidgeot
- Tony the Nidoking
- Manny the Primeape
- Monty the Dugtrio
- Don the Slowbro
- Raiden the Electrode
