yes help is spelled wrong ^-^

I have some questions for I have only been to one,

1) how does the booster draft work?
2) whats a good stratgey for PRs?
3) what cards should I look at at RR pres?

1) i forget, haha
2) know what your doing and just have fun
3) be prepared to make a deck out of anything, and try to find people to trade with for cards you were after

A booster draft is when everyone gets a certain amount of boosters and opens one at a time. You then take one card, without telling what it is, and pass the rest of the booster pack to the next person. It all goes in a circle and you continue until all the packs are done. I believe afterward everyone puts up the rares and takes turns in order of place in the matches and chooses the cards they want one at a time.

I have some questions for I have only been to one,

1) how does the booster draft work? the people running it open a few boxes and hand each players 6 packs
2) whats a good stratgey for PRs? Throw in ALL trainers that you get (unless they have no relation to the deck), and Don't make the deck too complicated. You only get to make a 40 card deck, plus, lack of trainers so simple strategy is key.
3) what cards should I look at at RR pres?
honestly, any full line of pokemon you can get will be all you can make, so chose what you feel is best.

Hope this helps danny.

There's a link on Pojo for Prerelease tips. I think this is it: http://www.pojo.com/CardofTheDay/2005/12-05-06.shtml

Own personal tips for the upcoming Rising Rivals Prerelease: Throw in any Trainers you have as they are Godly in this next set. Add in any Special Energy as well. Knowing this and the contents of the set can help you greatly. Obviously SP will be played, so if you get some lines and reasonable Pokemon to put in, that's going to be your best bet to combo with the Trainers and Energies. Only pick a couple of lines (see my last failed Prerelease deck), so don't just throw in cards or even Colorless cards if they don't help you, as you could get a terrible start.

WOW!!! Thanks d mastero master ^_^" That help a lot! and I thought the booster draft is where everbody puts cards in the middle of a table and takes out of the pool

What you described sounds like mass hysteria, but that's definately not a Booster Draft.

IMO, you should put in all the good basics that you have got. Some of the basic pokemon that can deal a lot of damage really help. Stage 1 Lines are better (IMO) than Stage 2. If you can get out a stage 2, they will better.

Are there no dark or metal basic energies for loan at prerelease...?

EDIT: Wrong post, but it was a d master post I meant to quote. In that link it said watch for dark and metal.

Just throw in any strong basics and playable lines, since your deck will end up being pretty simple anyway so a good startegy in a deck is rare, but good if it can happen. Also look out for cards that will be a good start. For example, Treecko was my hero at my SF prerelease.

Heh, wasn't there something like that actually happening in England, that there was a pile of Pokémon cards dropped on the floor of a convention room and all the kids were scrambling, stomping on each other, to get there first?

Essentially, if you can make any sort of strategy at all in your deck, you'll do well. Rising Rivals has a lot of Pokémon-SP, which will make life easier when constructing a deck as you don't have to worry as much about full evolution lines. (I was reasonably frustrated when I got Cranidos and Rampardos at the Platinum Prerelease but no Skull Fossil, for instance.)

Also, don't get carried away with types. No more than 3. I got burned when I tried to assemble a deck one time that was Water, Fighting, Fire, and Grass.

And, of course, roughly 20 Energy. You'll be overloaded with Energy, but without Roseanne's Research or anything of that sort, you'll need all the Energy you can get. (That'd make Floatzel GL Lv. X hot stuff if you can find it and play it.)

nah there are dark and metal they write "D" for dark or "M" for metal on it >.<

yeah, at the PRs I go to the organizer always complains he isn't provided with darks and metals so he writes D and M. And lol he always says not to take like all the energy of one type so noone else can get it. lol last time all the {P} energies mysteriously went missing so i had to use {L}s with a P on them.

What I did to get first last time, is I put 12 energies, you ask why is because it is a suffiecent amount.

Try to have a very strong pokemon line, and other than that your set.

I got first in my Platinum Pre-release in Crawley (UK). I won because I loaded my deck with basics (primarily Giratina) and stage 1s (Muk). Anything with a high damage output and a basic or stage 1 is a good card to try and use. It also probably helped that I pulled 4 Giratina.

Also, a judge told me once, "Don't worry, everyone elses' deck is as bad as yours." Keep that in mind.
