Help Preventing Damage

I'm building a legacy deck based around Moltres. I'm thinking 3 Fates collide and 2 EX from plasma storm Volcanion for power up/retrieval. Is there an item/stadium card I could use to prevent damage done to myself or heal fire passively? any other tips would be a great help as well.

protection cube FLF prevents self damage

Eviolite would be the best bet. It has more utility than Protection Cube since it also reduces damage from the opponent, and you're only doing 20 self-damage, so the amount it reduces to yourself is adequate for your purposes.

XY sets aren't legal in Legacy. Are you talking about Expanded?
