Ruling Prism Energy And Retreating

Attach a prism energy to a basic pokemon.

And evolve it. I saw in the FAQ that it no longer will provide an energy to the evolved pokemon (makes sense). But, can the prism energy be discarded as part of the retreat cost for the evolved pokemon? Or is it now just a useless lump attached to the pokemon?

Yes, you can use prism energy to pay for your retreat cost.

Prism Energy Provides 1 unit of Colorless energy regardless, As stated in the regular text.
