Discussion Prismatic Evolutions Official Setlist (SV8.5)

That Slowpoke messes with me, because now there's either no Blaziken ex or no Hearthflame Ogerpon ex.

So it seems it's either:

14. Flareon ex
15. Torchic
16. Combusken
17. Blaziken ex
18. Slowpoke

or

14. Flareon ex
15. Larvesta / Litleo
16. Volcarona / Pyroar
17. Hearthflame Ogerpon ex
18. Slowpoke

Either way, it messes up the ex/Tera amount, so I'm thinking it might be likely we're getting some of the Chinese ex reprints / Chien-Pao.

Could be:

23. Vaporeon ex
24. Suicune
25. Garchomp ex
26. Glaceon
27. Glaceon ex
28. Pikachu ex
29. Jolteon
30. Jolteon ex

...

54. Toedscool
55. Toedscruel
56. Charizard ex
57. Paldean Wooper
58. Paldean Clodsire ex
59. Umbreon
60. Umbreon ex

or

23. Vaporeon ex
24. Glaceon
25. Glaceon ex
26. Chien-Pao ex (Palafin ex or Veluza ex are also options)
27. Wellspring Mask Ogerpon ex
28. Pikachu ex
29. Jolteon
30. Jolteon ex

The easiest solution seems to be a Blaziken ex cut, because it seems relatively easy to replace (Chien-Pao, Palafin, Veluza), whereas I feel like if they cut Hearthflame Ogerpon, they'd have to cut Wellspring and Cornerstone too, which removes 3 Tera cards, and, as far as I'm aware, there are only two Tera cards that can replace them (Charizard and Garchomp). I suppose they could cut the Suicune to have a Pikachu ex reprint to go along with the Gold one, but idk about that option.

i think they're only putting the gen 1,2,4 and 6 cards from the start decks in this set

It would make sense for them to put the other gens in Journey together:

Gen 3 - Steven/Metagross
Gen 5 - N/Zoroark
Gen 7 - Lillie/Clefairy
Gen 8 - Hop/Zacian and Marnie/Grimmsnarl
Gen 9 - Iono/Bellibolt

Did some of the English cards leak in some way? How were you able to tell that certain cards are in but you couldn't see the number?

Also, if they put the Starter deck cards from Gens 3, 5, 7-9 in Journey Together, that means there would be Reg H cards in an otherwise Reg I set. In a few rotations, part of the set would rotate while the rest wouldn't, which I guess I can't put past them but it seems really awkward.

There has been quite a few sets with cards from a variety of rotations, so I don't think it's too farfetch'd to happen. Shining Fates was a solid mix of Regulation D and E, Brilliant Stars had a few new Regulation E cards, though was mainly Regulation F, Crown Zenith had cards from throughout all of Regulation D through F, though a lot of the cards were reprints.

Even some of the Regulation H sets still have Regulation G cards sprinkled into them, so although it is quite a few cards from the Starter Decks, I don't think it would be too awkward to have a mixed Regulation set like that.

I hope the pull rates are a bit more "friendly" considering how difficult it is to get a SAR card, compared to the older S&V sets at least. Will there be one EX card per pack like the Japanese set?

I think we have locked all the exs in the set. Most trainers are also locked (only missing 4, 3 of them being Ace Specs). Only a few cards remaining,

127 and 128 could be Scoop Up Cyclone, Secret Box and/or Roto-Stick.
Mela could be 117 with Max Rod being 116 (in this case Roto-Stick is out)

I found some youtube videos that confirm:
Iron valiant TEF? 43
Munkidori 44
Fezandipiti 45
Iron Boulder 46
Okidogi 57
Fan Rotom 85
Roto stick

Amoongus and Blaziken will most likely be in Journey Together.
All the legends in tins.
Everything else in Prismatic.
Except I guess Lugia which is in this set.

The ex choices for the main set are so confusing given there are some that don't have SIRs and some SIRs that aren't in the main set. And it's not even that they wanted to make competitive cards more available to players, because there's an SIR Roaring Moon ex but no normal version in the set, and there's probably more examples of this.

Yeah they always change up the end of year set a lot in English.

Paldean fates had multiple shiny full art cards with their normal double rare ex not being in the set (Pidgeot ex and Mew ex as examples). And that's definitely happened again here with the Roaring moon example.
The Japanese set is usually more of a 'fancy set with many reprinted competitive cards' and the English set is 'Fancy set + oh no what did we not print over here we have to fill the gaps + extra'. Fezandipiti ex will stay expensive because it is in Terastral Festival and not Prismatic Evolutions which sucks.

This does feel bad but at least i get my double rare's in English? That tiny positive doesn't really outweigh the negatives though.
