No, X, Y, and PXZ didn't sell me my 3DS - they aren't salespeople.
Honestly, I'm not all that hyped for this game; it just doesn't "click" with me. And even if it did, I can imagine no universe where I pick this over titles like Fire Emblem, Animal Crossing and Monster Hunter. Unfortunately, that may be a contributing factor to poor sales, which will send a message to Japanese developers to not localize niche games because they won't sell.
