Pwn REALLY has to be in the dictionary...

It's in the urban dictionary. That's good enough.

Pwn, really truly and honestly if somebody put that in the dictionary people would "mistake" it for something else.
 
If pwn would be in the dictionary than why not "own"? Both the same pwnage:p
 
If lol makes it in the public dictionary then yah you have pwn in it, if not, your dreams are a mile away
 
The reason it isn't in the dictionary is because it is an internet meme. You don't see LOL, ROFL, IMO, IIRC, n00b, or any of those in the dictionary, do you? I think not.

Besides, you could probably find a "dictionary" on the internet that defines all of these kinds of things.

PWN will never make it in the dictionary because merriam webster is an older lady. but then again, w00t made it in.

Read first post. I think this thread is useless anyway. Who cares about a slang word that almost means nothing? Most people associate this word with noobs anyway.

Yeah, it's used a lot in the online community.
If you asked someone with no internet with "pwn" means, there's a 4 out of 5 chance they would not know.

If Pwn was in the dictionary, then you should go ahead and add OU, UU, BL, and Uber into it as well, people use those a lot as well. :/

Yeah, ... sorry. Intelligent people prefer to use words other than internet slang. Dictionaries are primarily used by intelligent people.
 
I don't ENTIRELY agree with this thread, but these days, anything can make it into the dictionary. As long as it's used enough. The word "doh" (Homer Simpson's catch phrase) is already being decided on. And so is "meh". And the word "bootylicious", oddly enough, is already in the dictionary. So, yeah, you could say that one day, pwn might make it in the dictionary.
