I was randomly looking through my collection on PTCGO when I came upon Pyroar BREAK. Apparently I hadn't look at it's attack before, or just hadn't payed attention to it. It does 180 for 3 energy and 50 to itself. However, with protection cube, it does nothing to itself. What do you think? Let me know. :) Thank you

This deck is very interesting. I've not tried Pyroar BREAK, but I think it could be good. Here are some thoughts:
To hit the magic number of 210 (M-Mewtwo, M-Rayquaza), you need a damage boost in Volcanion EX. Along with that, it might be good to add regular Volcanion, due to their natural synergy. I would also add one Lysandre, a couple of battle Compressors, and an N for supporter consistency. When it comes to Pyroar, I find a 2-2 mix of Flashfire and Phantom Forces to be the right combination. With all the other ways of discarding energy in this deck, you won't want to use Scorched Earth. The same goes for Muscle Band, since you'll want to use Protection Cube.
tl:dr
-4 Pyroar STS
-3 Muscle Band
-3 Scorched Earth
-3 Talonflame
-1 Red Card
-1 Blacksmith

+2 Pyroar FLF
+2 Pyroar PHF
+1 Lysandre
+1 N
+2 Battle Compressor
+3 Volcanion EX
+4 Volcanion

You might want to reread Volcanion's ability. It only affects Basics.
That's what I get for not reading closely enough.
This deck is in trouble. You need to find a way to KO Megas. I still think the softening provided by Volcanion could help, but Muscle Band just can't work because of Protection Cube. You'll constantly be 10-30 damage short unless you Steam Up basic Volcanion.

I'm currently trying to make this deck work, although it's all in my head because I have zero cards online and no time to play in person, but my intial thoughts are definitely to run it in Expanded because of the access to the previous two Pyroars with great abilities, and of course Blacksmith. Aside from those obvious choices, here are a few of my opinions so far:

Bursting Balloon - As a way of dealing with those pesky Megas and EXs with FFB, which whilst weak to tool removal does in my opinion offer that extra damage reach, and if you survive the turn that's another powerful 180 damage coming back. (I'd probably opt to run this and forego Protection Cube, but you could always play Tool Retrieval if that's your jam.)

Jirachi EX + Wally / Blacksmith - I see the requirement of hitting that T1 Intimidating Mane being pretty strong in a format littered with Darkrai EX and Night March, so having a guaranteed way to hit the Wally, or that Blacksmith for the three-energy-in-one-turn swing, is too good to pass on.

2 Pyroar FLF / 2 Pyroar PHF - This just makes sense, I'd originally thought a 3-1 split towards Pyroar FLF but I suspect the even split is probably the way to go.

Reshiram - The one which was reprinted a million times, which is a killer secondary attacker, and a force to be reckoned with if you can find the space for a FFB or two, smashing back with Outrage for 190 damage is massively satisfying. I would personally choose this over non-EX Volcanion every time, and over non-AT Entei which is also a strong choice.

That's all I have for now, but I'll hopefully manage to settle on a 60 card list soon and can get back to this thread with it if I think it'll be of any help (probably not). But regardless, I'm super interested in making this card work and eager to hear what everyone else has in terms of ideas, and what you think of mine of course!

Thanks! This helped a lot
