okay so just recently I got a hacked alakazam with it's DW ability (it was female) so I breed it to get a male version with the ability that was near flawless with a nice nature and all that, then I ev trained the baby and started to raise it ( it's on lvl. 70) when I got the idea "hey I can do this with all my VGC pokemon too so I don't have to do sooo much breeding" but then again are the babies perfectly legal (so would they pass a legitimacy check) or since they're offspring of a hacked pokemon are they illegal in things like the vgc? (yes I breed the pokemon myself)

thanks in advance :3 (and sorry if I posted in the wrong forum >.< )

RE: question about hacked pokemon....

Female Abras are available in the Spooky Mansion DW area, so your Alakazam may not be hacked.

As for the rest of your question, I don't battle in VGC, so I don't know. But I figured I should let you know that your Alakazam isn't hacked just because its female.

RE: question about hacked pokemon....

A common misconception among people is that if one or both parents of a baby is hacked, the baby is somehow "tainted" with the hacked status.

This is not true.

Pokemon breeding is genetic in the sense that some of the parents' data is passed to the baby, but it is not literally genetic. Remember that Pokemon are just data. What the game is really doing is taking a random number from all the numbers that represent the parent's IVs and applying that number to the same IV for the baby.

Think of it like this. If you have two parent Pokemon that are both different foreign languages (French and Spanish, we'll say) and breed them together, the resulting baby is English language. There's no such thing as a part French, part Spanish, part English Pokemon.

If you _really_ need definitive proof, take two poorly hacked Pokemon (ones that will obviously fail a GTS check) and breed them. Hatch the egg and try to trade it. Watch it go through. That should prove to you that babies cannot inherit the hacked "status" from their parents.

Okay thanks so much ^o^

I don't have time to RNG so I'll raise my pokes that way :D Thanks again!

RE: question about hacked pokemon....

Should definitely be okay.
Properly hacked pokemon with Pokemon IDs and stuff pass legitimacy tests as well.

RE: question about hacked pokemon....

I just want to point out that you can't breed to get a DW pokemon that either has only been released male, or cannot be obtained. Alakazam is fine, but you can't do something like scrafty, or mamoswine yet.

RE: question about hacked pokemon....

okay.... so if I breed something like blaziken that was male only it would be hacked?

Blaziken aren't male only. But to answer your question, no. There is a way to breed for male only Pokemon such as Throh and Sawk without hacking. All you have to do is put a Throh/Sawk/Gallade/etc. in the day care with a Ditto. Then you should get an egg! :D

RE: question about hacked pokemon....

well we were referring to the dream world blaziken.... at which case only males are are relesed yet (I think) and only females can pass down the dream world ability

ditto is awesome for breeding :)

RE: question about hacked pokemon....

If it is male, the Pokemon will not pass on the DW ability to the best of my knowledge. At least you can't have a Mamoswine with Thick Fat (DW ability) and Icicle Crash (egg move) on your team on Pokemon Online (Skarmbliss, at least. This was a VGC question).:p
