Ruling Quick Question

Magmortars Lv X. Torrid Wave....can it effect ANY of the opponents pokemon in play? Because it says "..of the defending". Not "The defending" or "the active".....Really would like to know.

It only says that since you can play a double battle w/ someone. U can't status a benched Pokémon.

Benched pokemon can never be statused. They only can recieve damage and get hit by pokepower and bodies if they say so.

"Defending Pokemon" always means your opponent's Active Pokemon. The Power is written that way to account for 2-on-2 play.

It only can Burn the opponent's Active Pokemon.
