Is this an error?

Pain-full instead of Painful? Why?

I think it is just TCPi trying to play around with words. They added the hyphen, so I guess they wanted to have "Full".

Grammar Fails ftw!
This might be corrected later like Onix[UL] and PlusPower[UL] did. It must be a Translation error.

It doesn't matter if the name of the attack is mistranslated it matters if
the added effect of the attack is mistranslated and in this case the attack has no added effect.

Technically it's not a grammar error, just a really awkward choice of diction.

Also TPCi is only concerned with correcting issues that may affect how the card is played. Onix and PlusPower both had errors that made them functionally different from their Japanese/previous counterparts.

I think that it might be a misprint but I don't see why it would matter since it is in the attack name, also where did this card come from? I've never seen it.

Undaunted is were it came.

I can see that, but was it in the Expert Decks or something, what set was it in in Japan? Cause I don't remember it, also out of the last 6 sets, 5 of them had Pikachus 0_o

I think they must have hired an intern to do the translations this time around. We've had a lot of stupid ones lately.

Maybe they just decided to call it "Pain-Full Punch" instead of simply "Painful Punch", since "Pain-Full" would imply that the punch is full of pain...I'm pretty sure they just wanted to mess with people's minds when they did that, just like with "Everyone Explode Now".

I hope we're not getting any weirder names anymore in the later TCG sets...D'x

It was the expert deck, also why change it from coupe punch? normally the translation tends to be softer than the original, this time it seems they've swapped speed for pain.

Remember BikaBika, anyone?

Who doesn't remember BikaBika?

I hink the idea is that the punch is full of pain. Painful, in the english dictionary, means: "affected with, causing, or characterized by pain" that is, the feeling of pain. Pain-full, to me, seems like a feeling that is full of pain, instead of the actual feeling of pain.
