Classic Zekrom Eels with more of a focus on Raikou. Raikou KO's Gabites, Altarias, Eels, Dienos, etc. Raikou also 2HKO's uneviolited EX's. Mewtwo and Zekrom are there for backup, and Zekrom is for OHKO'ing the important stuff. I'm kind of ignorant when it comes to Eel variants; I know the basics like Ultra Ball to get energy in the discard, and promote something with free retreat so you can Dynamotor and retreat, but some of the card choices, I'm not so sure of. Apparently Zekrom EX sucks. And I've never seen anyone run more than two of the same attacker. Do I need Plus Power if I'm focusing on Raikou; my guess is yes. How many Max Potion should I run? Things like that.

I hate lists like these where you can't really change anything because it's a good list...This is probably the best Eels list for the next format. You have everything you need to counter other meta decks like Garchomp and Hydregion, great list.:D

:D so no Plus Powers?

That looks very similar to my BW-On list actually. The only thing that I changed with mine was I have -1 Raikou EX and +1 Zekrom EX. Zekrom EX can ohko alot of the new stage 2s that will be popular in the new format and I think they will be helpful. I have not really tested this though... Plus Powers arent going to be as good without junkarm since they are 1 use and then gone forever.

i"m just curious, how should I handle Terrakion? My friend uses Plus Power and Bolt Strike. I don't want to use Zekrom EX because if there's one Terrakion, there's bound to be at least another.

I don't think Terrakion will be as big since there will be so many more high tier options that aren't as susceptible to him. Garchomp/Altaria and Hydreigon will be very heavily played and Terrakion feels like it was more of a meta counter to me. It is definitely a good card, but alot of decks will be teching in dragons rather than fighting now to counter the more popular decks. Most of the decks that ran Terrakion only had 2-3 copies in the deck. The scariest thing about Terrakion was when it was used in a deck that has energy acceleration like Zekeels, because it could be played, pumped up to 2 energy, and revenge kill one of your pokemon all in one turn. Most Zekeels will not be running Terrakion anymore from what I read and the only other decks with any kind of energy acceleration(Dark decks), will really have to have alot of cards in their hand to piece together an OHKO on your Zekrom EX out of thier hand. They will need a Terrakion, a Darkpatch (or eel on the field), a fighting energy of some sort, and a pokemon that can be free retreated or a switch. That is alot of things to piece together to make a big revenge kill.

Also, against a deck I fear has a Terrakion in it, I like to use Eviolite on my Zekrom EX. It will protect you from the Revenge OHKO and if they end up not having a Terrakion your Zekrom EX is still a big beefy tank. Add Max Potions to that and he ends up being really annoying to kill for some decks.

I think Zekrom EX is very underrated and in the BW-On format he will really make his impact on Zekeels.

Of course, this is all just guesses about what the format will be like in the future and I am no psychic.

Personally I tested with 4 Eels as opposed to 3 and I felt it was better. Id say maybe drop an Ultra ball, thats the only thing I could think of you could drop and be ok.

I think that the decklist is near perfect. This deck can counter Garchomp by sniping the Altarias on the bench and gaining energy back every turn to kill the Garchomps as well. Zekrom EX OHKO's Hydreigon and Raikou EX can 2HKO Darkrai EX, but it can 2HKO it in return, which is why you have Max Potions =)
The only weaknesses I see are decks like Quad Terrakion (EX) and Landorus EX, but not many people will play that. Great deck!! =D

You might want to add another Eviolite or maybe Tornadus EX to deal with the Terrakion/Mewtwo decks that will be popping up, though I have no idea what to take out. Maybe an energy or Raikou?

Zekrom EX is actually a very solid attacker in the format and anyone who tells you its not is probably not a very experienced player. The ability to OHKO Hydregion is a huge tide turner for that Darkrai match up, especially when you have the ability to drop Zekrom Ex immediately like players could drop Terrakion the same.

As far as setting up or things to use, Thunderus should definitely be in there because of the limited amount of good starters that are available now, starting with him gets the deck running quickly. The main idea with Thunderous is to take all the cheap prizes you can from whatever you can with Pokemon Catchers. It's super key in this deck since you're main attacker is a sniper so you won't have the need to rely on Pokemon Catcher that much in the later stages of the game.

I don't know how I feel about running super high amounts of Switch and DCE.

Super Scoop Up is a really good play with Zekrom EX and while flippy can be of greater help than switch when either is needed. It can also get you out of those ugly starts should you be unfortunate enough to start with Zekrom EX.

Pluspower is a great card but, does it suit your deck? You probably have a grasp on the proposed meta and what's in it. Look at your attackers and ask yourself under normal conditions, what does that extra 10 damage let you turn 2HKOs into OHKOs on? If you commonly come up with nothing, you're probably not going to need them for the deck.

I think out of all the suggestions, the only thing I think would be well worth the space would be Thundurus, but if I just run one, odds are I will hardly ever start with it.

I would probably pull 1 Raikou EX and maybe 1 Switch or 1 Ultraball so you could squeeze 2 Thundurus in there.

The Switch I can take out if I have three Raikou. I won't need it too much since Raikou escentially has free retreat. I like having three so that if one is prized, I can still us Volt Bolt revery turn. Could I drop a DCE? Two Mewtwo and one Zekrom EX are the only Pokemon that can really abuse it. And Zekrom gets the T1 Outrage on a Swablu. It wouldn't be worth it in here to attach the DCE to Raikou because of Max Potion.

Yeah I suppose a DCE could work with your Raikou EX heavy build. I wouldn't go below 12 energies though.

I also personally use 4 N, 2 Bianca, rather than your 3 N, 3 Bianca setup. I really like the shuffle draw in the new format.

Ok thanks. I'll look N2 N :p Once I trade my Darkrai for full art Raikou, I can start some serious testing.

****** IMPORTANT NOTICE******

I run a similar deck, using Raikou to dish out damage and kill the important things in life. There's a little something which I've come upon which is a 1 card tech just in case you are in need of it. Fliptini. Now hold on, since this card packs a punch with Raikou vs a lot of the top decks out there. These days people max potion and expect things to be done with (and once Hydragon starts shifting things, you know they will be doing it more. The one thing which darkrai almost never has is... SWITCH. The paralysis on Thunderfang is really good if you want to stall or hit something while being safe from counter attack. It for me, it is how I take down Mewtwos (I never got one, so I always found ways of dealing with them). but they work for terrakions and things, as they have 130 hp. just 1 thunderfang and then its ready for the bolt ;).

Just a suggestion from good old Kadyshack

That's a pretty funny idea. I'm not too sure how I feel about this though. I'd need to see how it worked out. Also if you were going to use something like that you would also want to use 4 thunderwave tynamos and maybe Zapdos even to utilize that flipping stuff.

I don't think this is the way I would go with this deck personally though ;)

That is interesting. I don't think I'll be making room for it though. I would just take my chances with Paralysis. But I do apprieciate the originality.

anytime gentlemon ;) and I always use the thunderwave tynamos... just incase i go first and have him out there with a sh*tty hand
